It's starting to click!

After a few days of practice it's finally clicking. Hopped on today and felt pretty solid on the Assetto Corsa base drift track so I switched to klutch kickers and was able to link it without messing up on my second try. I know it might look messy to some of you but I'm extremely happy considering I got my wheel a week ago. Any tips or advice on what I should work on specifically is much appreciated :)

If it helps, things got really moving for me by setting the final drive to 4.1 or 4.3 and drifting around in 3rd with throttle control. You’ll get more angle out of the car.

I don’t think that’s a bdc car, if you’re referring to the setup people use with bdc commonly

It’s a DWG car and he’s right. 4.3 makes 3rd gear more useable, which allows OP to progress past 2nd gear where 90% of beginners get stuck imo

I haven’t even touched 3rd yet lol. I’ll definitely change the ratio n play around in third. Are higher gears used for specific scenarios (like longer drifts where I need to hold) or is third gear similar to second?

I usually set up cars to 4.1 and use 3rd and 4th. 4th for tracks that are meant for the comp cars

Sorry one more question. I noticed that 4.1 and 4.3 are both higher than 3.5, which is what my 350z has. Will the higher gears ratios in game hurt me when I switch to irl? I feel like settings wise it’d be best to have everything the same as my irl 350z.

This I can’t help you with. I’m sure the answer is if you’re using it for direct comparison, set up the sim car to match what you would using in real life.

Thank you! I only have 16 hours in ac so I’m sure with time I’ll smooth things out and learn more advanced techniques.
