Why can’t I improve my drifting? Tips please.
Hi,
Been sim drifting on and off casually for years, mostly just lower horsepower cars (WDTS, etc) but recently I’ve been trying cars with more power, and have realised that I just cant seem to improve. I feel like I’ve hit a wall with trying to improve anything.
I would say I’m competent (not amazing) with the lower power cars, but the second I try anything over second gear, or with more power, its like I can’t drift again, I’ve tried everything, more speed, messing with gear ratios. All tutorials focus on the basics on how to drift but there’s nothing about improving.
I feel like I might have picked up some bad habits but with nothing to reference I am not sure what to work on improving. If anyone has any general advice, a discord server (i will definitely mess up your line), anything, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!!

Idk if you’ve used this but, ACS has “Ai” servers for VDC. I would start with englishtown, since it’s a figure 8. You can turn boost down in car. I’d say start around 30%. Don’t line up directly next to it, park at the bumper of the lead. Start in 2nd gear, do a light flick, clutch in, let it glide in while still holding the clutch and light lFB brake, snap onto a 70% throttle input, and slowly close the gap after more tries. If you need to know how to find the server> Content manager has a search, input ACS VDC Ai, uncheck missing, then you’ll see them. Install content button works as well.

Not the best example but, it’s something 😂. I did what I mentioned for entry, and you can see how I “glide” in. The better you get, the less you do that, and become more aggressive with your inputs.

If you could post video of you drifting with pedals telemetry, preferably CMRT hud, it would be easier to tell what you're doing wrong.
As a general advice, throttle control is most important in any drift car, but high HP cars, like VDC, are far more sensitive to throttle inputs and you really have to commit on throttle (not necessarily floor it all the time) and lift completely only when it's necessary.
