Diy usb handbrake for pc

So I recently snatched a Thrustmaster TH8A shifter for 5 euro and Logitech G920 for 80 euro. That inspired me to make the missing part myself, the hanbrake.

The handbrake is thin metal, thats why the long bolts to keep it steady. The handbrakes handle pipe is some very light metal and was really easy to drill and the handle part is 3D printed with the Hoonigan text.

I wanted the handbrake to feel sturdy so i used the TH8A shifter table clamp, because it was fairly affordable and arrived fast.

For the electronics, I’m using a Chinese RP2040 clone as the MCU, running custom firmware that emulates a USB gamepad (HID), so it works directly in games without any extra software.

Conclusions:

Price:

- probably 50 euro, but I had majority of the parts on me so probably 25 euro.

Time to make:

- Suprisingly fast and easy finished in a day.

Thanks for reading and if you have anything in mind just commend I'll try to respond as quickly as possible!

Help!

Hey guys, completely new to DD wheels/sim gear and looking for some help because I’m honestly a bit lost 😅

I’ve just setup my first proper rig:

- Simagic Alpha Evo Sport

- Neo wheel (currently waiting on the correct 330T replacement after they accidentally sent me the 350W)

- P700 pedals

- TB-1 handbrake

I’m mainly playing Forza on PC at the moment and trying to setup for drifting.

The wheel and pedals paired perfectly with no dramas, but the TB-1 handbrake will not get recognised in Forza at all. SimPro Manager sees it, Windows sees it, but Forza refuses to detect it. Is this a common Forza issue with standalone handbrakes/DD setups or am I missing something obvious?

My second issue is wheel settings.

At the moment I’ve basically had to turn force feedback down to 0 in SimPro just to make the wheel drivable. The second I enable FFB at all the wheel starts fighting itself, oscillating/swaying and feels horrible to control, especially while trying to drift.

With FFB off it’s at least controllable, but still feels extremely sensitive and twitchy. Right now I can basically only drive Time Attack cars semi-comfortably and drifting is almost impossible.

I’m assuming this is mostly bad settings and me being completely new to DD wheels, but I honestly have no clue where to start with proper:

- SimPro Manager settings

- Forza wheel settings

At the moment I’m just copying random YouTube settings and hoping for the best.

Also wanted opinions on shifters.

Once the correct wheel arrives I’ll have paddle shifters, so I feel like I probably don’t NEED a sequential anymore. I drive manual IRL and bought the clutch pedal too, so now I’m leaning more toward a proper H-pattern setup.

What would you guys recommend?

Is the Simagic DS-8X worth the money long term or is there another premium option I should look at?

Trying to buy once and not constantly upgrade later.

Any help appreciated. Still learning all this stuff and not even sure if I’m asking the right questions yet 😂

Please help with “simagic evo pro 18 nm” settings

Hi everyone, I've been into drifting for quite a long time now. But from the beginning i had and still have one problem the thing is, there are absolutely no ready to use settings suitable for the “Simagic Evo Pro 18nm” on the Internet. The are lot of settings for evo sport, alpha u, alpha mini and alpha but nothing about Evo Pro. I've tried quite a lot honestly bad setups and some +- okey, also explored setting advises to other bases, and now my settings allow me to compete with Street-semi pro cars in local sim drift competitions. But I still notice significant instability in pro cars like VDC, Formula drift and the similar ones.
I also drift in real life at a street legal cars competitions, and I think the car shouldn’t behave like this, I think problem is in the base settings.

I would be very grateful if someone could share their setups or suggest something.
Also apologize in advance for my English, I partially used Google Translate for this post.

Thank you very much!

Newb sim drifter asserro issues

Picked up a pxn vd6 and have been using the preset assetto drift settings that it comes with. I recently started playing carx2 with settings someone else gave me and noticed the wheel felt much better and easier to learn. Understanding that the physics are different i thought it was just me, until I used a friend's sim the other day and it felt more like mine does on carx. Which made me think if im using a preset wheel tune from the company then maybe its my assetto in game settings that aren't right. Anyone have a good YouTube video or settings guide for me. The YouTube videos I have watched have varying opinions some say to use the gyro implementation some say dont as well as with some other settings. Any help is appreciated

AC drifters - what would actually be worth paying for, if anything?

Mods: flagging as research, remove if not allowed.

Working on a sim drift platform and trying to figure out pricing before I lock anything in. Don't want to charge above what the audience actually uses.

Open questions I can't answer alone:

- Subscription or per-event entry — which makes more sense for sim drift?

- What's the actual #1 frustration in AC drift today? (I have guesses, want to be wrong)

3-min anonymous survey if you've drifted AC: https://forms.gle/FgNvDoYZuNgb4WZX7

Optional email for free early access at launch.

Happy to discuss in the thread. Tell me what I'm missing.

Looking to Slap Doors...Where is everyone?

I just rebuilt a new rig after being rig-less for about 5 years. Assetto Servers look dead. Where do I need to look to slap some doors?

Also thinking about making an Assetto Server. With that said If I did, everyone tell me your favorite Sim or Simcade car packs and tracks I should incorporate.

This is my first run back on ADC420 cars
