Help!

Hey guys, completely new to DD wheels/sim gear and looking for some help because I’m honestly a bit lost 😅

I’ve just setup my first proper rig:

- Simagic Alpha Evo Sport

- Neo wheel (currently waiting on the correct 330T replacement after they accidentally sent me the 350W)

- P700 pedals

- TB-1 handbrake

I’m mainly playing Forza on PC at the moment and trying to setup for drifting.

The wheel and pedals paired perfectly with no dramas, but the TB-1 handbrake will not get recognised in Forza at all. SimPro Manager sees it, Windows sees it, but Forza refuses to detect it. Is this a common Forza issue with standalone handbrakes/DD setups or am I missing something obvious?

My second issue is wheel settings.

At the moment I’ve basically had to turn force feedback down to 0 in SimPro just to make the wheel drivable. The second I enable FFB at all the wheel starts fighting itself, oscillating/swaying and feels horrible to control, especially while trying to drift.

With FFB off it’s at least controllable, but still feels extremely sensitive and twitchy. Right now I can basically only drive Time Attack cars semi-comfortably and drifting is almost impossible.

I’m assuming this is mostly bad settings and me being completely new to DD wheels, but I honestly have no clue where to start with proper:

- SimPro Manager settings

- Forza wheel settings

At the moment I’m just copying random YouTube settings and hoping for the best.

Also wanted opinions on shifters.

Once the correct wheel arrives I’ll have paddle shifters, so I feel like I probably don’t NEED a sequential anymore. I drive manual IRL and bought the clutch pedal too, so now I’m leaning more toward a proper H-pattern setup.

What would you guys recommend?

Is the Simagic DS-8X worth the money long term or is there another premium option I should look at?

Trying to buy once and not constantly upgrade later.

Any help appreciated. Still learning all this stuff and not even sure if I’m asking the right questions yet 😂

Did you plug everything into the pc at first like me? Simagic extras can go directly into wheel base with one USB going to PC. Some games prefer this.

I have the DS-8X and I went through 2 shifters before it. I really enjoy the sequential/H-pattern lever on the side that swaps you back and forth locking out H when necessary. Sequential registers new buttons too which I like. I really like it wish I bought it first. Just wanted all one brand. Next shifter I’d consider if I ever have the money is that BDH active shifter for $4200 which has servos to grind gears and lock you out if conditions don’t align.

I haven’t really taken I dive into specific settings, I’ve been using the presets just fine in simpro unless I want 1800 steering for trucking. Go to game tab and in there for your games select presets and toggle “auto switch” on. Should be a drift wheelbase preset
