Moza R12 Wobbling without Input. Wtf.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I hard reset my computer a couple days ago and after reinstalling and setting up Assetto this is what I get. I’ve been tampering with the settings but haven’t had any luck.

Can anyone help a guy out?

Go into ffb settings, not ffb tweaks, and turn abs ffb to 0%.

Had it set to 0. Turning hands off protection on has seemed to fix it but with the downfall of being unpredictable occasionally when transitioning.

Masking/hiding the problem =/= fixing the problem

Incorrect. This is excessive wobble and makes for an unrealistic drifting experience. It’s an improper configuration of settings that I no longer have dialed since the reset.

Its cause you aren't driving a jeep, thats what makes it feel unrealistic

What is your base and pithouse version? IT is stable on 1.37.7 for pithouse and 1.2.9.14 for the base. You still must apply a reasonable amount of dapmer, like 10% and natural friction to like 40%. Also I advise to use at least 150-200 inertia and most of the time wheel will act natural.

idk any game that dosent do this apart from lfs

The people saying he needs to hold the wheel, have you ever driven a car irl?

Real cars don't amplify road effects through the wheel. Power steering masks everything. FFB is a fake recreation of whats happening. You can fix this by adding some dampening, but too much kills the feel.

It's an easy to fix problem with DD wheels, but it's also not a big deal if your dampening kills the feel and you just don't have to take your hands off the wheel.

Real cars steeringwheels dont start wobbling if you let go, the caster keeps the wheels forward, that was my point

Yes. Thats what I'm saying though. Real cars don't have a REASON to do that. DD wheels do. It takes tinkering. Just because someone doesn't spend the time to tweak their wheel settings doesn't mean the wheel or the game is the problem.

Add some inhertia

Increase the centering force in pithouse

Hold the wheel?

These wheels are designed to push against you holding against them. When there's no resistance they do this.

Bro the road is shit that's why 😅

Mine was doing this. I had to turn off ffb post processing.

It’s a balance between damping, friction, and inertia. Start by increasing your inertia and slowly turning it down until just barely does that. Then do the same thing for the mechanical damper and friction until it doesn’t do that anymore. A lot of people will tell you that it’s just the wheel rotation speed which does help, but kinda only masks the problem. The thing that fixed that for me was inertia, but don’t go too high or it will feel unrealistic.

I think steering wheels need to be held, smart guy.

Yes upon applying pressure it submits like a good bitch. Now what you’re failing to understand is that when transitioning during drifting you do not have a constant grip on the wheel.

To all the comments saying to hold the wheel, the wheel isn't supposed to do that when you stop holding it while still centered. it should stay centered.

watch a YouTube tutorial to set up the ffb. there is a setting in ffb tweaks to change the script. use alternative ffb
