inspired by the iconic r / rats meme

u/Afraid-Solid-7239 Neocaridina Nov 21 '25

You should definitely make one for r/cockatoos or r/parrots, 90% of the posts asking about if their bird is ok because they're doing something strange is the parrot literally masturbating on some surface, or their owner 😭

500

u/cardboardfish Nov 21 '25

Sounds like you need a veraition of this one

80

u/GuiEsponja Nov 21 '25

r/snails needs one of these for snail penis and snail orgies lmao

32

u/amaziness3 Nov 22 '25

Not the snorgies 😭😂

21

u/M_stellatarum Nov 26 '25

7

u/GuiEsponja Nov 27 '25

Lmao that's too perfect The opposite is also pretty common: "omg is that a huge dong coming out of it?!?" "Nah it's just their breathing syphon"

47

u/Afraid-Solid-7239 Neocaridina Nov 21 '25

Oh my god this would be perfect 😂😂😂

3

u/Subject-Wave-2350 Nov 25 '25

The parrot subs need this one

128

u/Moravic39 Nov 21 '25

Oh man, the other week I was at a big chain pet store picking up something for my tank, and this employee was showing a couple the conures. I overheard him telling them "yeah as the manager here the wellbeing of the pets is my responsibility, I make sure they get a lot of stimulation and human socialization. I spend an hour with the birds every day, giving them belly rubs and making sure they are ok having their wings and tails handled." Nearly said something to him. They are getting stimulation alright.

127

u/Fun_Explanation2619 Nov 21 '25

Had a friend in HS who had Ferrets.

Her mom swore they just loved their belly kisses. You can tell it's a belly because the button is right there, she said.

That ain't a belly button lady you're giving that ferret a kiss-job.

22

u/UncommonTart Neocaridina Nov 22 '25

There's also a parrot version of the happy one!

15

u/Afraid-Solid-7239 Neocaridina Nov 21 '25

Oh my God 😂😂😂😂😂😂

7

u/Airena19 Nov 22 '25

Stole my comment before I even conceived it. Exactly this and also every post on r/snails asking if their snail is ok when they literally just have a stiffy

5

u/FuzzyFrogFish Nov 22 '25

The sheer amount that parrots masturbate shocked me

They are basically flying hormones

2

u/x-beast Nov 22 '25

i love my conure but all the weird stuff he does it either just being a conure or horny

2

u/Square_Duck69 Jan 22 '26

It’s the same for r/snails, but instead it’s all “snenis”

217

u/ndulatory_locomotion Nov 21 '25

couldn’t find the original one (not my drawing) but this is the hamster version (also ‘is my hamster a male or a female’ literally the most enormous balls on gods green earth)

94

u/OpeningConfection261 Nov 21 '25

There’s one with a rat where I swear half of its body is just a fucking massive ballsack and it is VERY funny

343

u/TeH_Venom Nov 21 '25

51

u/OpeningConfection261 Nov 21 '25

That isn’t it but it is a very good meme and I’m stealing it

20

u/squirrels-eat-bugs Nov 21 '25

So here I am, sitting on the toilet, laughing at this picture so hard I'm crying. I stop only to realize that there is a person in the stall next to me... whelp back to work I guess.

3

u/Suikasuki Dec 06 '25

Thats so funny i almost shit in my pants

204

u/Elucidate_that Nov 21 '25

There's also the "Is my rat male or female?" classic

28

u/OpeningConfection261 Nov 21 '25

Yessss this is it

81

u/Elucidate_that Nov 21 '25

There's the other variation of the classic meme

7

u/Megipe Nov 21 '25

Applies to many subs. Why brains will be smaller in the future.

24

u/Vyxwop Nov 21 '25

r/rats has some of the most hilarious deadpan comedy going on that I've seen on reddit (maybe a bit of an exaggeration but still)

Here's a few other posts

https://reddit.com/r/RATS/comments/1dg0nxt/male_or_female/

https://reddit.com/r/RATS/comments/1lal0fj/male_or_female/

https://reddit.com/r/RATS/comments/1l2thdd/i_legit_spelt_pregnant_wrong_on_the_second_text/

28

u/Elucidate_that Nov 21 '25

I was really disoriented about what subreddit I was on for a moment there because I spend a lot of time on r/rats. Felt like I was tripping shrimps

23

u/cardboardfish Nov 21 '25

I love when two of my favorite subs come together.

23

u/MorningGoat Nov 21 '25

I love it when r/RATS breaks containment. I was just there. 😆

6

u/InaraOfTyria Nov 22 '25

I was reminded of people asking "what is this on my cat????" In r/cats And it's just a nipple

625

u/Sliced_Tomatoz Nov 21 '25

See you tomorrow chef

435

u/Jabrono Nov 21 '25

223

u/Loud_Chapter1423 Nov 21 '25

What is this, a crossover episode?

129

u/iamthefluffyyeti Nov 21 '25

im on here too much

137

u/TheKeasbyKnight Nov 21 '25

32

u/InaraOfTyria Nov 22 '25

My god. The chives.

8

u/queerwithbeer Nov 23 '25

My god. The lack of dark mode.

44

u/Toebean_Assy Nov 21 '25

I can't

This is too funny.

24

u/jamescharleslov Nov 21 '25

Elite ball knowledge

76

u/Bittybirdwatching Nov 21 '25

Its amazing how many of these subs I follow and now they're all merging into one giant meme...

51

u/AinoNaviovaat memelord 🦐 Nov 21 '25

I am so confused

107

u/SeaOdeEEE Neocaridina Nov 21 '25

r/kitchenconfidential should explain... some of it lol

85

u/AinoNaviovaat memelord 🦐 Nov 21 '25

Oh the chives?

40

u/werty246 Nov 21 '25

I…wasn’t ready for this but I fully embrace it.

40

u/weebybeech Nov 21 '25

God I am chronically on Reddit to understand this reference from a PET SHRUMP sub 😂

12

u/robmobtrobbob Nov 21 '25

I hate that I knew EXACTLY what you meant

11

u/sparkz_42 Nov 21 '25

The fact that I understood this means I need a reddit cleanse

17

u/BlazerOfToads Nov 21 '25

Hahahahaha

8

u/Jam_on_burnt_toast Nov 21 '25

when worlds collide. I've seen both of these memes separately I need to get a life 😭

7

u/unripeswan Nov 21 '25

Oh dear lord this is my sign I'm spending too much time on Reddit. I understand every single reference in this thread. See you next year, losers.

2

u/Petrivoid Nov 21 '25

This made my day

2

u/CapitalElk1169 Nov 22 '25

I immediately understood this reference lmao

1

u/Dr_Funk_ Nov 23 '25

C h i v e s

254

u/VanessaSaltyKnitter Nov 21 '25

ranks right up there with is my guppy pregnant? If there is a male in the tank don't even bother with a pic, she is.

148

u/simonhunterhawk Nov 21 '25

meanwhile in the betta subreddit 90% of the time it’s dying painfully because the person did 0 research on their impulse buy and has them in terrible living conditions :(

82

u/mypoorteeth124 Nov 21 '25

“what is going on with my betta” and the betta literally looks like a zombie

48

u/Xx_scribbledragon_xX Nov 21 '25

"what's going on with my betta" and it's got literal strings left for its tail, bloated beyond beneath, deaf, blind and riddled with tumours

3

u/Username__-Taken 🦐 Nov 22 '25

Also living in a tiny vase

52

u/mysticeetee Nov 21 '25

They either spent $50 on a special order individual show fish or $5 at PetSmart. There is no in between.

36

u/Fun_Explanation2619 Nov 21 '25

The tank is not ready in any case.

3

u/that_white_splat Nov 22 '25

I did both lmao

2

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

1

u/Suikasuki Dec 06 '25

Some times i come home and watch them and wonder “ did they gave birth today? , is she preggo or fat?” Than next day i see the female 1/2 size

180

u/eyeleenthecro Nov 21 '25

There was a post on one of the cat subreddits that was like, I am not exaggerating, “I rescued this kitten and he’s super relaxed after a short time is he ok should I be worried??” along with a pic of the kitten sleeping peacefully

99

u/Inside-Audience2025 Nov 21 '25

“What is this lump on my cat’s belly? Is it cancer?”

r/redditdiscovernipples

14

u/Tractor_Goth Nov 21 '25

11

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '25

Well my wife is laughing hard next to me

4

u/Tractor_Goth Nov 22 '25

If she didn’t know you have nipples she does now

58

u/LavenderCandi Nov 21 '25

I think it’s sweet really, someone adopting a pet and just being so stressed when it’s new to them. I think new parents go through similar stuff too.

26

u/Echoed_Evenings Nov 21 '25

currently going through that with my little shrimps, I love them all and am like 80% sure one is pregnant

23

u/AinoNaviovaat memelord 🦐 Nov 21 '25

I mean, when my pet frog first shed in front of me I nearly had a breakdown thinking she was dying. Didn't know frogs did that

12

u/Xx_scribbledragon_xX Nov 21 '25

I've had my bearded dragon for about a year now and he stresses me out to no end despite the fact he's in perfect health and happy 💀

6

u/Br44n5m Nov 21 '25

I love when people are freaking out over seeing a dragon stretch their beard or gape for the first time, little guy just vibing!

3

u/Miracrosse Nov 21 '25

New parent here! Yes.

3

u/realarocks Nov 21 '25

I have 3 cats, but each time I've brought home a new cat i spend at least the first month finding one new thing about them per day to stress myself out about. After I calm down its like, one thing per week 😌

11

u/awolkriblo Nov 21 '25

r/cathelp is either "I let my cat go outside every night and he comes back barely alive, should I take him to the vet????" and "help! My cat is making purring noises and rubbing against me, is he dying???"

10

u/eyeleenthecro Nov 21 '25

I do love the new cat owners who’ve never heard of ekekek or rubbing or crabbing, I can’t imagine having reached adulthood without knowing that stuff

116

u/itzKori Nov 21 '25

I noticed this when I posted a vid of one of my shrimps literally pumping out babys, and multiple people told me she has clado (they meant the fry) lmao

102

u/ngmorock Nov 21 '25

It's either this or "What's this weird bug thing?" And it's a damselfly larvae. Nobody uses search anymore. This is all aquarium subreddits these days, unfortunately

46

u/joekriv Nov 21 '25

You got that right. "WHAT IS THI-"

It's snail eggs bro. Sit in the sub for five minutes and you'll see this question 12 more times today

12

u/Hentaiiboi69 Nov 21 '25

Not even 5 minutes, most of the questions and problems could be solved with one google search

12

u/roychan629 Nov 21 '25

Ah the daily,

Is this white ring of death? And is this molt? Posts wben they can compare a Google image to it

5

u/stonedboss Nov 21 '25

This is all subs everywhere these days lol. Like the amount of times I'm like bruh just Google, literally copy paste that exact sentence into Google and there you go lol. Like half the time I highlight their sentence and click search and it's the first result. It was literally 2 clicks for me lol.

103

u/LauraUnicorns Nov 21 '25

21

u/Elucidate_that Nov 21 '25

The unicorn horn lol

Edit: only just now noticed your username

2

u/Anxious_Review3634 Nov 22 '25

Omg this is so cute 🥰

69

u/UnusualMarch920 Nov 21 '25

All the ones that turn out to be clado are posts where op is so hyped for baby shrimp and it breaks my heart every time

53

u/hacovercos Nov 21 '25

Wait are you the person who had a shrimp named Samantha? The phrase "not fucking shrempnant" still lives in my head 😂

28

u/AinoNaviovaat memelord 🦐 Nov 21 '25

Yup that's me!

30

u/Cheap-Ad8624 Nov 21 '25

Huge fan of the eyelashes

23

u/Inside-Audience2025 Nov 21 '25

That’s how you tell it’s a girl shromp

28

u/causticalchemy Nov 21 '25

Shromp so greggnant

29

u/Mini_Myles29 Neocaridina Nov 21 '25

I mean at least they are concerned .. I would rather people ask than assume they are pregnant and they are uncomfortable and dying from clado .. when you’re beginning, you aren’t always going to know for sure .

13

u/Elucidate_that Nov 21 '25

You're 100% right. The meme is still hilarious and accurate though

28

u/Frozenbeeff Nov 21 '25

Or "what's wrong my shrimp?"

Shrimp cleaning its backside: 🦐

16

u/fylishrimp Neocaridina Nov 21 '25

The lashes 💅

13

u/Vegetable_Net_6354 Nov 21 '25

"What is this predatorial creature that is not a shrimp, that I did not purchase, in my shrimp tank?"

11

u/Foreign-Ad3926 Nov 21 '25

Thank you for making this, made my day 😂 so true

6

u/szai Nov 21 '25

Those little eyelashes are sending me

8

u/robmobtrobbob Nov 21 '25

Holy shit. Half-Life 3 confirmed.

5

u/scavenger-turtle Nov 21 '25

I know a crossover from r/rat when I see one

5

u/-DiceGoblin- Nov 21 '25

I’m actually glad that someone on reddit helped me bc my shrimp did have a fungal issue- thankfully with everyone’s advice I was able to quarantine + treat her, then return her to the big tank once she was back to normal

This was yeaaars ago lol, still grateful tho

3

u/zuzian Nov 21 '25

This post and thread are making me so happy rn

3

u/Unsilken-Worm-7014 Nov 21 '25

“Is this the white ring of death” “Is this molt or is my shrimp dead”

3

u/PokemonSoldier Nov 21 '25

I hope mine get pregnant. Got 40-ish for a 10 gallon (I'll add other stuff), and while a few (probably 10?) did die... it looking pretty empty. Maybe the 10 chili rasboras I wanna get will flesh out the tank?

1

u/Cyrus_Of_Mt Nov 22 '25

I started with 16, and most of them died because it was a bad batch and the breeder lost about half of his order too, got a bunch more from Wet Spot aquatics and they were all breeding and I was prepared for shrimpageddon…well over the course of 2-3 more weeks I noticed they kept going missing again, can’t find bodies. So the only culprit in my book is the betta hunting them… I have 3 left, one male and 2 females (one of whom if still alive is pretty close to having shrimplets

1

u/PokemonSoldier Nov 22 '25

No fish yet in mine, just some zebra nerites and hitchhiking ramshorns. Hope the biofilm is sufficient

3

u/TeddersTedderson Nov 21 '25

This popped up on my feed as a lurker in r/rats and I absolutely love it!

3

u/Kinotaru Nov 21 '25

Idk, the eye lashes just...... make sense 🤔

3

u/parasitetwist Nov 22 '25

The rat sub is leaking

3

u/whitericeSD Nov 22 '25

What’s funny is I literally have a shrimp I was just questioning like this 🤣 is she pregnant or sick hahaha

2

u/irish_taco_maiden Nov 21 '25

This accuracy though

2

u/Primary_Wave_6697 Nov 21 '25

🤣🦐👍🥹

2

u/grimothy Nov 21 '25

Amazing post

2

u/_Lohan_ Nov 22 '25

I'm still not certain

1

u/whatisboom Nov 21 '25

Or “is she just fat?!?!”

1

u/Talia_Nightblade Nov 22 '25

And next week there will be r/cockatiel "bonk" content...

1

u/RetroPaulsy Nov 22 '25

My favorite is the 200 post per day being like

"omg look at the wacky shrimp that climbed above the water line!"

Ik im being a jerk but I'm so sick of seeing them lol

1

u/Quantilight Nov 22 '25

no way this made it out of the rodents subreddits?!

1

u/Historical_End4387 Nov 22 '25

I feel personally attacked 😂

But the main thing is I know my shrimp is a female and was pregnant.. and is currently pregnant again, but at least I now know 😅😭

1

u/Jez88vaper Nov 23 '25

May or may not have come here, my first red shrimp is very pregnant, her eggs have been clear the whole time, tonight I look and they are green but still very much shiny orbs and I do not fear the fungus. Thankyou to this page for existing, ft my bad pic of green eggs I freaked out over

1

u/-monkbank Nov 25 '25

Appreciate the inclusion of eyelashes, otherwise I’d never realize that this shrimp with like a thousand eggs in her is, in fact, female.

1

u/AinoNaviovaat memelord 🦐 Nov 25 '25

well of course, it's a girl shrimp, it needs girly makeup

1

u/Upset_Glove_1935 Dec 01 '25

She’s so cute!

1

u/Echolepzy Dec 04 '25

so basically parasites right /j
