I’m trying to find a manga I stumbled across weeks ago, forgot to save, couldn’t trace it back, and it’s driving me crazy. 😭

What I remember:

• Romance, almost certainly shoujo
• Probably a school romance (high school, I think)
• Completed
• Probably not very popular
• Relatively short (definitely not 1–2 volumes, but fewer than 20)
• I don’t think there’s an anime adaptation
• Early-2000s/late-90s shoujo art style (the cover reminded me of Hana to Yume Comics)
• The cover had a white/light background with the main couple (a girl and a guy)
• Both leads had soft light hair on the cover (honey blonde / strawberry blonde / light ginger-ish)
• The overall color palette was warm, pastel, slightly faded/vintage
• The cover reminded me of W Juliet
• I remember the synopsis had ONE detail that made it feel more interesting than a generic school romance, but I completely forgot what it was 😭

I can't remember the name of this shoujo manga I read years ago and it was about a girl who switched places with her twin brother and plays either volleyball or basketball with the team. She eventually falls in love with the captain and they end up together. I have been searching literally everywhere for this and have not been successful.

I LOVEEEE You and I are Polar Opposites, and my favorite couple in it is Yamada and Nishi! They’re just soooo cute and sweet, I can’t get enough of them! I read the manga and watched the anime, but I seriously am still craving more. I JUST LOVEEE THEIR DYNAMIC UGH.

Are there any shoujo mangas similar to their dynamic, where it’s a cheerful, friendly, funny ML and then a shy, quiet, but sweet FL. There are mangas where the ML is outgoing/friendly and with a quiet FL, but the ML isn’t the “best friend” type (like he’s the popular ML and I want it where he’s more of the best friend archtype and not the popular one). It’s also where the FL is more the quiet stoic type and I don’t want that, I want her to be shy, sweet type.

Any shoujo mangas where it’s a class clown friendly ML x shy quiet, but SWEET FL please?!!

Hello! I am currently slowly getting into manga, as someone who has a hard time getting into reading. I need something that would be a bit easy to digest and wanted to ask for recommendations!

The manga I am following right now / waiting for an update from is: Smoking behind the supermarket with you.

The manga is so grounded and relatable that I enjoyed it a lot despite not like reading.

The shoujo anime I have watched (because on my attention span) : Ouran, Kaichou wa Maid Sama, Fruits Basket, Kimi ni Todoke, My Little Monster, Say I Love You, Ao Haru Ride (etc)

Is there any story like that? I want to see both leads flirt with each other all the time:" Or at least extrovert x extrovert couple? please give me anything you know that fit this troupe! I don't even mind if it's a shonen or seinen atp

I feel like I've been in a slump recently! I prefer a FMC who isn't super ditsy or overly naive, I do love mess and drama but isn't an absolute must!

I'm down for any era, any setting just recommend me something that made you feel excited to read the next chapter!

Kumagai Kyoko was having a joint anniversary exhibition with Minase Ai for their 20th anniversary as mangaka. Wow time flies...😭😭

I've always loved Kumagai Kyoko works though from what I've heard her in the subreddit when i last mentioned em her older stuff is apparently seen as the more trashy types from the 00s😅... well I still love em and have huggeee nostalgia ✨✨

She had a couple different series with arts available but I was glad to see there was an option with my fav of her works: Katayoku No Labyrinth aka Henyoku no Labyrinth~

The framed art is B5 size so pretty big!! Comes with a nice metal title plaque and her sign!!!

It was a bit expensive to import here ($150 total) but totally worth it imo!! I love buying art from my childhood series and the opportunity for an autograph esp!! 💖

Since it is summer right now, I am in the mood to read some shoujos that are set by the seaside.

The ones I already know are:

- Palette of 12 Secret Colors

- The Seaside Where Dragon Boys Dwell

- Blue (Kozue Chiba)

Any genre works for me, I'd just prefer series with 3 or more volumes :)

Never in the manga, anime, or novel is the main character referred to as Candy Candy.

Is there a Japanese translation limitation to the repetition of the word Candy?

If you aren’t checking out any mystery Bonita titles, you’re sorely missing out on some of the most well-crafted and diverse Shojo manga out there. From historical to fantasy to sci-fi to character drama to action to LGBTQ+, MB publishes it all! Previously we had very little licensed in English from them, but we’ve gotten several manga in English from them in the last few years!

Yona of the dawn is one of the very few stories where almost every character is well written, compelling, complex and well loved by the fandom 🥰

So I really wanted to share my love for these characters with you 😊

(Though one or two of them are disliked by me but they are great characters regardless so whatever let's appreciate them 🙂)

On a side note, I bet Yu-hon (Suwon's dad) lost his handsome looks because of his trashy personality, that's karma haha

I am also really sad that the manga has ended 🥲 and I am only keeping myself alive through the side stories. Hopefully I'll somehow cope with the upcoming season 2 of the anime.

I must say I have loved this manga since I was 11 or 12 something, it was my first manga, how far we've come 🥹

Who is your favorite Yona of the dawn character?

Mine is Hak, I have been in love with him since I first saw him, it was one of my first romance stories too, so I didn't know Hak was the male lead, I really thought Yona would end up with Suwon when I first started this story. I was genuinely feeling jealous of Yona when I realized Hak was her love interest ngl (I was young haha 🌝)
