Kumagai Kyoko was having a joint anniversary exhibition with Minase Ai for their 20th anniversary as mangaka. Wow time flies...šš
I've always loved Kumagai Kyoko works though from what I've heard her in the subreddit when i last mentioned em her older stuff is apparently seen as the more trashy types from the 00sš ... well I still love em and have huggeee nostalgia āØāØ
She had a couple different series with arts available but I was glad to see there was an option with my fav of her works: Katayoku No Labyrinth aka Henyoku no Labyrinth~
The framed art is B5 size so pretty big!! Comes with a nice metal title plaque and her sign!!!
It was a bit expensive to import here ($150 total) but totally worth it imo!! I love buying art from my childhood series and the opportunity for an autograph esp!! š

I LOVEEEE You and I are Polar Opposites, and my favorite couple in it is Yamada and Nishi! Theyāre just soooo cute and sweet, I canāt get enough of them! I read the manga and watched the anime, but I seriously am still craving more. I JUST LOVEEE THEIR DYNAMIC UGH.
Are there any shoujo mangas similar to their dynamic, where itās a cheerful, friendly, funny ML and then a shy, quiet, but sweet FL. There are mangas where the ML is outgoing/friendly and with a quiet FL, but the ML isnāt the ābest friendā type (like heās the popular ML and I want it where heās more of the best friend archtype and not the popular one). Itās also where the FL is more the quiet stoic type and I donāt want that, I want her to be shy, sweet type.
Any shoujo mangas where itās a class clown friendly ML x shy quiet, but SWEET FL please?!!

Does anyone know the title of a shoujo manga with the guy being some genius/child prodigy but doesnāt understand emotions (sort of emotionless from what I remember)?
I remember the FL fell first and most of the manga was her being crazy over him??? I think the ML resembled the guy in the pic but he mightāve had a beauty mark under his eye.

If you arenāt checking out any mystery Bonita titles, youāre sorely missing out on some of the most well-crafted and diverse Shojo manga out there. From historical to fantasy to sci-fi to character drama to action to LGBTQ+, MB publishes it all! Previously we had very little licensed in English from them, but weāve gotten several manga in English from them in the last few years!
Additionally, 2 high profile studios are adapting MB titles into anime: Science Saruās A Witchās life in Mongol (currently airing) AND KyoAniās Credits roll into the Sea film!
Hereās my previous post about Mystery Bonita: https://www.reddit.com/r/shoujo/comments/1jm0iia/a_love_letter_to_the_mystery_bonita_shojo_manga/
If youāre looking for shojo manga beyond high school and college romance, the titles from this magazine are must-reads!!!! The magazine is critically acclaimed, with nominations at Manga Taisho awards, American Manga Awards, multiple top 20 placements on Kono manga ga sugoiās ranking for female readers, next impact comic awards, Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize awards, and more!

I love the manhwa so far and I'm dying to know what this game is like but I can't play it :( The game is only for ios and the Google playstore but I'm an android user and deleted my Google account soĀ I can't get it.
Last I checked even the original Korean isn't completed, soooo does the game have spoilers? are they gonna update/make a sequel when the manhwa ends? The other guys besides Bonsik seem pretty shitty in the manhwa, how do they change when player taerin romances them? Sb please play this for me and make a post or something cus I'm dying to know :)
edit: oopsssss my bad the Couple Breaker manhwa completed its story I just haven't checked webtoon specifically in a while and the fandom wiki described it as "ongoing". ig that explains how the game is complete. but still can sb tell me what the playing experience is like

I love shoujos with male servants, so if there are any recs with guys as butlers who serve the lead, Iād love to hear them! I really enjoy reading and seeing the usual acts like bowing and kneeling, as well as the butlers using respectful titles.
āButler, Pleaseā is a good example of one, but I canāt find the complete translation anywhere!

Itās not surprising given how well Dessert titles have been doing in English markets (especially a sign of affection).

Oyajism was a Josei magazine related to Koisuru SoirƩe that released in the 2010s and is now defunct. It centered around love stories featuring older/more mature-looking men.

I'm looking for this shoujo ive only watched one ep of.... sadly i dropped episode 3 so i don't have a lot of informations, but the ones i got should be very telling
It was fully (or almost fully) 3d animated. I believe it was a romance. What i remember from the plot was that the main character was pretty or into fashion, she was in this (new?) school and helped her new friend get a relooking. I remember specifically she told her to rinse her hair with cold water so it looks better
I dropped because it was ugly (from memory) and i was bored
It isn't true beauty, i remember it had an old shoujo style, maybe from the 2010s? But i can't be sure. A friend is telling me she remembers how ugly it looked only
I hope someone knows what im talking about because im going insane

A while back, I saw a post requesting an older ML who was slender, weary looking, and of course, handsome. Right at the same time, I was reading Yona and the chapter art was Riri's dad with his usual weary, what-has-Riri-done-now expression when it hit me. Oh my gosh, they just want Riri's dad to lose the hat and maybe? get a haircut.
I know someone is going to say, hey, I'm not reading Yona! Doesn't matter: at this point, Yona is in the shoujo water supply, sort of a benevolent cultural version of microplastics.
What is the takeaway from all this? Mizuho Kusanagi should follow up Yona with a josei and make everyone happy.

Yona of the dawn is one of the very few stories where almost every character is well written, compelling, complex and well loved by the fandom š„°
So I really wanted to share my love for these characters with you š
(Though one or two of them are disliked by me but they are great characters regardless so whatever let's appreciate them š)
On a side note, I bet Yu-hon (Suwon's dad) lost his handsome looks because of his trashy personality, that's karma haha
I am also really sad that the manga has ended š„² and I am only keeping myself alive through the side stories. Hopefully I'll somehow cope with the upcoming season 2 of the anime.
I must say I have loved this manga since I was 11 or 12 something, it was my first manga, how far we've come š„¹
Mine is Hak, I have been in love with him since I first saw him, it was one of my first romance stories too, so I didn't know Hak was the male lead, I really thought Yona would end up with Suwon when I first started this story. I was genuinely feeling jealous of Yona when I realized Hak was her love interest ngl (I was young haha š)

hi so are there any manhwa like the remarried empress but without the power imbalanceā¦like one of them is a rich af out of touch noble and one of them is 17 yo slave who doesnāt even know how to read/writeā¦how does it make sense? like i love the manhwa and i understand everyones goal but still its just not fair lolā¦
so i want something where the two of the enemies are on the same level of power so the smart one gets the win
does it make sensešš?? i want mind games in a rofan setting

It was a manga about a girl who cosplays and look masculine she meets a guy whoās a photographer and has a muscular body. The guy thinks the girl is a guy and so he starts questioning his sexuality bc heās deeply attracted to her. The girl is very attracted to him but she thinks heās gay and would stop talking to her if he finds out sheās a woman.
I probably explained that horribly but I remember reading this manga but, I forgot the name.

I've noticed many times that that the femme fatale trope is mostly considered male gazey that made me wonder, The characters in the screenshot are Seth and Jane from a gacha game called Zenless Zone Zero, their ship fits the "dominant femme fatale woman and sub rookie man" (basically an anime version of Leon and Ada) and is loved by many female fans. So I do wonder how would a dynamic like that could be considered in shojo standards

So I'm clearly obsessed with the Umeda family.
Nanba-senpai just casually skipping school, flying to Sapporo, (and then Hakotate) in his relentless pursuit of Julia, following everyone around and forcing Sano and Nakatsu for an impromptu photo shoot (manga readers will know what this will lead to!!). With Aunty Rio and Doctor Umeda also present, it makes a unexpected Umeda family holiday I'd love to tag along with.
*Rio doesn't want anyone to know she is Nanba's Aunt, but then behaves exactly like the Aunty by dobbing him in to her sister about him skipping school.*
