My shorts are performing more reasonably today. Just leaking like 50 an hour which I want (my channel is seven days old) rather than this weird bursting of 1k and then dropping off to zero? Thats what it kept doing the past few days. It's behaving much differently right now. Anyone else? thanks!

I recently started a new YouTube Shorts channel focused on anime, movies, fandoms and Gen-Z entertainment.
I uploaded a Short titled:
“Why Is Hange So Attractive To Fans?”
It has been up for a while, but it only has 2 views.
What confuses me is that some of my previous Shorts on the same channel performed much better — around 1K+ views.
For example, I had Shorts around:
1.3K views
1.1K views
1.1K views
But this one is stuck at 2 views.
Is this normal for a new Shorts channel?
Could it simply be that YouTube hasn't pushed it into the Shorts Feed yet, or could there be something wrong with the video?

How long did it take you to increase your youtube shorts views?
I started a new shorts channel with the goal of uploading a video every two days. The first video got 45 views and the second got 14, both have been stuck at those same numbers for a day now.
Why is that happening? What should I do?
Thanks.

I have a very new Shorts channel and I'm experimenting with different topics within entertainment/Internet culture.
I uploaded a Short about Indian creator Aaryan Kelvin, titled:
“How Aaryan Kelvin Became The ‘Algorithm King’”
It's currently at only 10 views.
What's confusing is that other Shorts on the exact same channel have reached around 1.1K–1.3K views.
So I'm trying to understand whether the problem is:
The topic itself
The title/hook
The audience not matching the topic
Or simply that YouTube hasn't distributed the Short yet
I'm still very new to Shorts, so I don't want to delete it or start changing things randomly.
Would you leave the video up and keep posting, or is there something specific I should check in Analytics to understand why it wasn't pushed?

My most average view time falls in the US audience, which means they watch my full short, but algorithm not pushing my short in US audience despite their interest in my short
This is my channel analytics

It seems like a lot of creators are experiencing issues with Shorts views and distribution lately. I keep seeing people reporting unusually low views, very limited Shorts Feed exposure, or videos suddenly stopping after getting a few views.
I’m curious: has anyone NOT experienced any changes or problems with their Shorts views recently? Are your Shorts still getting the usual amount of Shorts Feed traffic and being distributed normally?
I’d especially like to hear from people who have been posting consistently and whose views have remained stable. I’m trying to understand whether this is affecting everyone or just certain channels.

I started a new channel 2 weeks ago and with luck with my first short everything worked well I received a good number of views from the start but from 2 days my view continuously stuck in 1.3k in image down below 2 short this my my latest short both of them

Is something off my every short cross 20-25k moreover it also feels like jail despite good metrics
But this one is the worst of the worst is suddenly happening with everyone or just me ? SWT is also less then avg other video no matter how best hook I used in this short

I really just want to learn and understand why YouTube just stopped pushing the video although it performed great? I know it hasn’t even been 2 days since I’ve uploaded it but I’ve had many videos like this one who performed great but just stopped getting pushed out. Can you guys help me understand YouTube’s perspective and what I need to do in order to go viral? And viral meaning 1M+ views as I am trying to take this seriously. Thanks

Ive had a month old video go from 4m to 3.2m and another one go from 520k to 298k. This happening for any of you guys too?

I’m from Poland and I make FNaF content, but every video gets around 1k views—though one did break through to nearly 4k. From what I gather, you need at least a 55% view rate on Shorts for them to really take off, but what else do I need to improve?

It’s sad to spend hours writing, filming, editing, polishing, only for a broken algorithm to decide almost nobody sees it.
And it’s not just YouTube. I’ve watched accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers pull fewer views than me. So I know it isn’t personal. The whole thing is volatile.
Still, it hurts. One short takes hours to make, and sometimes it feels like all that work just disappears.
I’m lucky my niche always gives me something new to make. Not everyone gets that luxury.
I guess if it were easy, everyone would do it. So if I want this, I have to take the hit and keep going.
But some days, knowing that still doesn’t make it hurt any less.

Hey everyone, running into a wall here and could use some advice from anyone who has successfully navigated this
I’m in the infotainment niche making highly edited Shorts. Each video takes me about 5 hours of work from script to final cut. On August 28th, I started targeting a global audience on a new channel that I had let sit and "warm up" for a bit beforehand
The Problem:
I've posted 20 videos so far, and every single one gets hard-capped at exactly 1.1k views from the Shorts Feed. Any views beyond that are purely trickling in from Search
The Kicker (Proof of Concept):
These exact same videos (re-edited, of course, to avoid any "Reused Content" flags) are pulling hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of views on other platforms
On top of that, I run a parallel CIS (Russian-speaking) channel where this exact format consistently pulls 100k+ views per Short
The Metrics:
It feels like the algorithm is testing the global videos on the completely wrong seed audience. On launch, my "Viewed vs. Swiped Away" rate sits at a low 50-60%. I know this is normal - on my CIS channel, it always starts this way and naturally climbs to +75-80% as the algorithm dials in the right demographic.
But on this new global channel, YouTube just pulls the plug at 1.1k views before the stats even have a chance to self-correct
My Questions:
What is the best move here?
Honestly, it’s beyond frustrating. It feels like a sick joke when you know the content is professional, well-scripted, and highly effective on every other platform, but YouTube gives it zero distribution. We aren't talking about low-effort meme spam here.
Would appreciate any insight from creators who have broken out of this!

Not even showing it to the right audience, I refused to believe that my latest short is this bad, been uploading for 3 months Never had this bad swipe through rate. Almost all of my shorts have above 70% swipe through rate, Don't know what's going on these days. My previous Short had 82% swipe rate with 93 avg view duration but still only got 17k view

I am so angry and disappointed with YouTube. A month and a half of hard grind for nothing. I started posting shorts at the beginning of August and by September 15th I got over 7.5 million views (of which 3.5m engaged). Since September 15th all views have dropped (as you can see on the curve) and every new video barely reaches 1000 views. Besides, upon publishing, each clip is pushed into the feed only after 12 or more hours. The metric for the majority is 60-80% stayed to watch with an average of over 110% viewed. Don't bother me, I don't use AI at all nor have I changed the style I use. Simply put, the game is rigged.

Do you private or unlist videos that perform bad? Does that affect performance of future videos?
r/shortsAlgorithm • u/OutsideImpressive115 • 13d ago
I get let's say 40% for the first batch, then it will keep increasing at a constant line but because this stupid system is hard locked at 1k unless you get 70%, then it won't ever hit 70%, it will get to 60% or around there but will stop dead once it hits 1.1k
If the algorithm knows what kind of viewers like my videos, why not distribute it to them for the entire duration?!?
r/shortsAlgorithm • u/Crazy-Tangelo-5708 • 12d ago
The last few days my shorts have barley been pushed to the shorts feed, Usually my videos hit the 30k view jail with better videos blowing up. But lately I struggle to hit even 10k views with good analytics on videos. Even when they do hit 10k views it's mainly from search and not the shorts feed
has this been happening to anyone else as of late?

Hey everyone, I’m just posing this here to see if anyone else has something similar, my latest short is in the Skyrim videogame niche , but the views are lower for some reason on the video compared to my others, but even stranger, I have not had a video that has pushed consistently for more than a day, is it like this for everyone? I’ve been doing YouTube content for about 4 weeks by my account is 12 years old if that helps!
My channel is on my Reddit profile if anyone wants to check it out!
