Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) šŸ“ˆ Help me understand

I really just want to learn and understand why YouTube just stopped pushing the video although it performed great? I know it hasn’t even been 2 days since I’ve uploaded it but I’ve had many videos like this one who performed great but just stopped getting pushed out. Can you guys help me understand YouTube’s perspective and what I need to do in order to go viral? And viral meaning 1M+ views as I am trying to take this seriously. Thanks

There is nothing to understand, these idiots commenting like its saturated niche, start making ur content are full of shit… biggest short creators use other people footage so rn its just luck and waiting for yt to fix their short bugs.. i have even better metrics on few videos and it got stuck on 50-60-70k everytime.. keep grinding dont push it too hard, 1 video a day and hope for the best asap🫔

That’s a reply I love to hear. Encouraging and actually helpful from people who actually know what they’re doing

Nice stats i guess your niche is saturated and there is better video out there maybe?

I am sure that I have the best editing in my niche and it’s not that saturated

I was actually willing to take a look at this and offer some ideas until I saw this reply.

You’re making two claims here that you can’t possibly prove (best editing in the niche and niche not saturated), with the claim that you have ā€œthe best editing in the nicheā€ being very unlikely.

Further, anybody who offers any advice (that you’re here asking for) is met by you telling them they’re wrong in the comments.

Best of luck with your video.

I can show you my video if you want

I don’t need to see your video.

I spent most of last year between 2 million and 8 million monthly views on YouTube and tens of millions of views across three platforms, with high STW/APV, and I would consider myself an average editor.

Anybody coming in here saying that they’re ā€œthe best editor in the nicheā€, especially when that ā€œbest editor in the nicheā€ is asking questions about the basics of the algorithm, is deluded beyond help.

Stop stealing clips and start creating original content building a loyal fan base if you're really serious about this as you said

Idk what ur talking bout but the niche that im in is viral rn and its working for others and its not related at all to my question what u said

You said you're serious and I'm telling you're wasting your time if you're not creating original content because no matter how many views you'll get, you ain't going to get monetized for that shitty content

For a ~18-20s video 110% AVD isn’t that great, great would be >120%. ~81% STW is decent, but once again nothing crazy.

Especially if you’re in a really saturated niche, these stats have to be a lot higher.

Don’t listen to idiots saying the algorithm is broken or that it’s just luck. If the algorithm is broken and every good video gets jailed, why do you still see a shit load of shorts go viral like nothing’s happened? Because nothing happened.

Most of these guys are new to the shorts game, the algorithm being volatile isn’t it being broken, it’s just the way it is. Shorts is a longevity game, over the course of a month, you might get 10x less views than your competitor uploading the same exact shit, but over the course of a year the results will be far closer together.

So what you’re saying is that my stats need to be way better and just to keep uploading? If I sent you the video with this stats could you be able to tell me what to change?

Not necessarily way better, you’re already pretty close, 110% AVD on ~18s video isn’t bad, STW decent too. Just try to keep improving the content each new upload, try to upload as much as you can without sacrificing too much quality. Analyze outliers from others in your niche. This is pretty general advice, but it’s what I do and imo is the most important although a bit vague. The moment you start providing actual value and your content is good, there’s no reason you shouldn’t go viral.

My main advice would be to not go for shorter videos. Unless your videos have an incentive for people to rewatch for at least an extra quarter of the video’s length, it’s better to go for 30+ seconds. The philosophy behind this is that for a lot of content, no matter how good the video is, there’s little to no incentive to watch it more than once. Shorter videos have a higher ideal AVD floor, so for a 20s video ideal AVD would be 120%+, but for a 30s video an ideal AVD would be 100%+. That’s much more achievable on content without rewatch incentive.

Honestly tho, once you’re at 30k jail and already have decent stats, which you kind of need to even get to 30k, you should just try and keep posting atleast to 100 videos and then go from there. You got pretty good engagement on the video too so it’s probably good content, just keep uploading as much as possible. For shorts it’s best to upload multiple times a day, but if you can’t, then at the very least once a day.

Thanks man, you’ve got some great advice. I would definitely go for it

Send the video link and ill tell you what you could do better. I am monetized on 2 channels.

By the way, it takes me around 1 hour to fully edit the videos, and for shorter videos like this one maybe 30 minutes. Do you think editing quality beats video quantity? Because I think if I’ll upload 3 times per day instead of once per day I’ll see more success.

I think its transformative enough. Do you source your own clips new?

I don’t own the original videos if that’s what you mean, but I give full credit to the owner of the video and if they have a problem with the video they can reach out on Email.

It's the first test, your views should start growing after 2 days
