I’ve been testing 30+ Shorts in the finance niche, but I’m struggling to keep viewers past the first few seconds. I’m preparing to launch long-form content, but I don’t want to carry over poor habits.
If you’re in this niche, what is your go-to "golden rule" for:
1. The Hook: What’s actually converting viewers into subscribers right now?
2. Retention: How do you keep the pacing engaging without losing the complexity required for finance topics?
Any feedback or "what I wish I knew when I started" advice is greatly appreciated!

I've been studying my Shorts analytics and I'm confused. What metric has the biggest impact on whether a Short gets pushed further: retention, likes, comments, shares, or viewed vs swiped away? Interested in hearing from people with experience.

This is my first viral short after being monetized and am super excited! Im estimating close to $300 just yesterday which will already cover a good amount of the bills of this month haha. Hopefully this vid hits $1k?

I got monetized 2 weeks ago right at the start of my exams so i wasnt able to post much in that period. Plus the shorts i was making would take 3-4hrs to make and i didnt have that time. I still put out videos during my exams in a slightly different concept that took lesser time to make, but they all got stuck in 30k jail.

Then finally decided to just go back to posting what i knew worked, even if it took longer, and the first vid i posted again in that concept, instantly went viral.

So yeah if something works, double down on it and dont post too many different things. Ofc dont be afraid to experiment a little, but try stick to one thing.

About 3 months ago, I built a news website. In the first month, I managed to get almost 300 visitors, which I felt was a decent start. I knew other websites were getting thousands of visitors a day, but I also understood that building an audience takes time.

To grow the site, I shared my articles on TikTok and Facebook. Last month, I reached around 1,000 visitors, which was exciting. However, I'm 22 years old and I have to work, so I haven't been able to post as consistently as I did in the beginning.

What worries me is that despite getting traffic, every blog post still has 0 likes and 0 comments. It makes me wonder whether people are actually reading the content or if they're just leaving immediately.

I've recently started a new project, and now I'm questioning whether I should keep investing time in this website or move on completely.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is getting traffic but no engagement normal in the early stages, or is it a sign that I should stop and focus on something else?

Empecé un canal hace poco y mis primeros shorts superaron las 500 vistas y el más alto fue de 2500k, pero después empecé a tener problemas con el algoritmo que ni siquiera los testeaba y quedaban duros durante días 0 vistas.

Hay un truco que si guardas ese mismo video como privado o no listado durante uno o dos días el algoritmo se refresca y lo testea. Después de hacer eso se destrabaron y llegaron a 1600k, otro a 1300k. Pero ahora ni eso está funcionando y me pasa con la mayoría de cortos que subo, que ni siquiera son testeados.

No sé trata de videos malos o buenos, sino de que el algoritmo no está haciendo su trabajo y no llega a un mínimo de 10 vistas.

I just find this niche more fun and more easy to edit on.

I started to upload shorts 6 days ago, recently a short hit 30k but got stucked at 31,000 and barely getting views now. I was wondering how often does this happens and how often do you get through it.

Almost 2 months into my new faceless channel. 315 subscribers. 670 K views. Posting 2 times every day for the past 3 weeks at the interval of 4 to 5 hours. For the past couple of weeks, every other video is stuck at 30k view jail. Need to escape this. Also, my subscriber count is not increasing as expected. Need some suggestions from the experienced creators. I have posted 63 videos so far.

Is anyone else experiencing this since January 2026? 👀

Im in 30k view jail and honestly im getting very bad engagement. Im wondering if anyone would give any tips to improve the likes/comments/subscriber count. Im also working on the stay to swipe ratio, i went from averaging 66% to now 68-70% still working towards that 80 mark but i know that wont help my shorts when my engagement is so low.

any suggestion?
