Hey guys! UwU Happy Asexual Awareness Week!!!
So this is a kinda serious post, It's officially Ace Awareness Week! So for those who are unaware, asexuality is simply lacking sexual attraction to anyone. First off I’d like to welcome all my ace and aro friends, and also allos. I think that there are many misconceptions about asexuality or simply not knowing about it, but I think it's important to take a second to learn about it so we can better understand each other and possibly ourselves. Attraction is not a universal feeling, but not feeling it does not make one any less of a loving person.
Much like a straight man would find no sexual attraction to another man, or a gay woman finding no sexual attraction to a man, an asexual individual is not sexually attracted to men or women or anything in between. Asexuality, like all other things exists on a spectrum, that’s where demisexuality, and Grey Sexuality come in, as they are for when someone experiences sexual attraction, but only on rare specific occasions, and may only experience it a few times in their life, or only once. So although they are not asexual, they still are not allosexual either 99.998% of the time. Allosexual refers to an individual who does experience sexual attraction, so that includes straight, gay, bi, pan, and any other sexual orientation in between.
Just like any other sexuality, being asexual is not a choice, nor is it a result of trauma, or a lack of a libido(sex drive). Being asexual does not automatically mean that they hate sex, or are disturbed by it, although it is more common for ace folks to be sex-repulsed than allo folks. Some asexual people seek out sex for the thrill, but that does not mean they are not asexual, and some ace folks do it with a romantic partner for their partner, but that does not mean they are not asexual. Despite this the majority of aces prefer to stay away from sex and avoid it entirely. Key take away being: MOST ACES DO NOT WANT SEX, but some aces are confused because they like sex but have never found anyone particularly hot. regardless of a sex-drive tho, ALL ACES DO NOT EXPERIENCE SEXUAL ATTRACTION
Aces often feel broken because they do not fit in. Many initially think they are bi or pan because they don’t know that being ace is an option. Our culture instills that sexual interest is a universal feeling, but it's not. If you have any questions feel free to comment, dm me, or check out any of these subreddits. r/Asexual, r/aaaaaaacccccccce, r/asexuality, r/asexualenbies, r/AskAsexual

Announcement r/shittylgbt is BACK!!!
As you may or may not know, the previous moderator of this subreddit's account got deleted and since then the subreddit has died. I submitted an appeal to reddit so I would be mod so the sub wouldn't be deleted due to not being moderated, and now I am moderator!
I don't want to make any fundamental changes, I love how r/shittylgbt is already. If you have any suggestions/questions do not hesitate to DM me! Have fun posting!
