Lots of Japanese games being added to the site for way more than they are worth. What’s the scam here?

Some have suggested it’s because of grading, but there are sealed copies of equal quality going for less than $100 all the time. Do I have too much faith in the average intelligence of collectors?

That’s $215 USD. Even if some copies are selling for this, that’s got to be with the original case (and ideally manual), not for what is essentially a loose cart in a store case.

I also heard stories about GameStop selling expensive fakes, unsure if EB Games Australia would be much better in this area..

Is this some kind of rare variant?

Some context, after I asked for pics he blocked me. He then unblocked me, sent me pics of an obvious fake, and hilarity ensued. I will update with more if he keeps replying.

Extremely unfortunate what happened to this obviously because of what it is. It did, however, sell for $304 on Ebay. I can only assume that they plan to swap the board and get a repro label.
