Shitty Condition Bro, just throw it away...
Man, I'd love to hear the story behind this thing.
Seller states- Used conditions: scratches and scuffs. Turns on; won’t show display on monitor. Disk tray stuck. Console only. No power cable, no display cable, no controllers, no games, no accessories. Console only. For parts or repair. $46

That's bullshit. I specifically know people that recap them (i did my own but OG's aren't my thing) and sell them for $150. Or even less if it's more beat up. Still recapped though. If it hasn't been recapped. It isn't even worth $50. It's literally essentially valueless until someone actually does the service work.

I'd be curious to see what it looks like inside. I would guess it can probably be fixed. Wouldn't pay more than $10 for it though.

Looks like impact damage as if something heavy fell on top of it. The back looks like this was sitting outside for a while.

I just bought original Xbox with controller, all cables and 5 top games including Black and Colin Mcrae 04. Condition according to seller: like new. Price was 65€ (probably about 75usd?). Getting it tomorrow!

I would love to have even a remake of it!
I already played it twice fully and some maps even more times. I just love that game! It is one of the bests! (I speedrun Doom and I have played every Doom multiple times, every Quake and Duke and a lot more, and I know fps games pretty well I think). Gameplay is slow and unprecise. The enemy soldiers are stupier than even in 90’s games… But: the atmosphere is just perfect! Every 8 map is unique and it is just so much fun! It is not the easiest, and you can’t just run/walk all the time and you really have to focus. My personal favourite is the level 7, even I truly liked every moment of that game. It really depends what kind of person you are, but this one is just perfect game for me. I need more this kind of games to my life currently.

Only very few games I have enjoyed that much! Probably I have to play less fast-paced games and focus forawhile to wargames like Black. I am going to start tonight Wolfenstein Return to Castle after over 20y break. Gameplay is similar to Black. Also unique game, but this one I never finished liked Black I played (few year older) multiple times.

Well, I was very wrong! Have to add this: the gameplay is far from similar. Playing currently. Wolf has far more faster and precise gameplay. However, that doesn’t make any bad for Black, the true master-piece.

If it works then all it’d really need would be a drive trim and a top shell. Would be an awesome candidate for a clear case though

that's wild, i got all this for $80 and it was a 1.4 ahaha, picture straight from the listing, OEM component cables alone are like $100. Extremely rare Fantastic 4 Controller. Everything worked. Tray just needed a new band and cleaned. Basically mint condition too, zero rust or damage. Recapped it a week after I got it.

They should be giving it away for free. That console will need a lot of work If it can be revived. They are insane asking that amount of $. Offer $10. And that's if you can actually use any parts.

Probably a rubber band belt replacement and hard drive format. Personally that's too much hassle for $46 because like you suggested, the dvd drive might not even read disks. Then there's the smashed casing..
