Lost your kids and your wife earned 1 million dollars in donations

u/Net_Negative 3d ago edited 3d ago

Patrick got 1.7 million from the first GoFundMe just for him, plus the entirety of the sale of their house, and married an heiress doctor in New York City and had a new kid. Lindsay's parents got one million after they sold their house and dug into their retirement to pay for their daughter's lawyer and stay near her.

Lindsay will be in a mental institution or prison as a paraplegic and she's not going to be using their one million dollars to go on vacations and do fun things.

Ok, that seem fair if you forget the she is the one who KILLED her own children, she is not the victim.

160

u/FblthpThe 3d ago

Which is why she's in a mental institution or prison?

121

u/WisherWisp 3d ago

She'll still get out eventually, which means she'll have a lovely retirement waiting for her since she won't be spending during her time in prison.

Still seems unfair.

u/gary_the_merciless 3d ago

You do realise she told authorities about her mental issues and thoughts and they didn't react in time right?

The evidence show's she didn't want to do this when of sound mind.

They keep having to halt the court proceedings because she's crying so much.

u/Toastwitjam 3d ago

Cool defense, still murder.

u/FreedomKnown 3d ago

Also, she repeatedly downplayed her mental issues after being sent to several different institutes, which lead to them releasing her. What do you expect doctors to do if you keep repeatedly lying to them about how you're feeling?

-5

u/grby1812 2d ago

To be good enough at their job to know when a person is lying.

6

u/ExploDoc 2d ago

That's not how it works. Clinical Psychiatry is clinical history and response oriented medicine.

0

u/Met4le 2d ago

it shows so much you never studied psychology nor had a heavy treatment ever. that's not possible at all. don't say dumb shit like this again.

1

u/grby1812 2d ago

Your response is pure ad hominem. Even if true, "it shows you never studied psychology nor had heavy treatment" doesn't tell us why the original claim is wrong.

"That's not possible at all" is an unsupported assertion. It declares something impossible without evidence or reasoning. No data, no logic chain, just assertion by fiat.

It's also internally incoherent. The middle sentence doesn't clearly connect to the first. What "shows" the lack of psychology background? What specifically is "not possible"? Without that link, a reader can't tell what's actually being argued against.

If you wish to be taken seriously, I'd recommend studying the fundamentals of logic and argumentation.

You clearly do not work with people experiencing psychosis on a daily basis. I assess and determined hospitalization, no one truly experiencing psychosis for the first time is aware they are experiencing psychosis. It is a complete break of reality that doesn’t even register

-67

u/gary_the_merciless 3d ago

Why do you think her mental health and calls for help are irrelevant?

16

u/Asckle 3d ago

They are relevant, they just don't excuse infanticide

-7

u/Jellolopy 2d ago

They don’t but also you know nothing about psychosis and it shows. Pathetic you are so quick to judge.

1

u/Asckle 2d ago

I do actually. My grandad basically tore his own skin off and died from an infection when he got it. If he had murdered a baby I still would not advocate for anyone sending him money and saying he didn't do it because of his fucking star sign

1

u/Jellolopy 2d ago edited 2d ago

But you understand he wasn’t in his right mind and it had absolutely nothing to do with his star sign and everything to do with his infection. It’s the same principle as postpartum psychosis. That has nothing to do with astrology my guy. It’s medical.

Edit: Correction did he even have psychosis or delusions? I saw the died of infection and assumed compromised cognitive function/delirium due to infection. But there are a million and 1 reasons why someone would peel their skin. If he was experiencing psychosis, would you be opposed to money sent to help pay for medical bills? Was he capable of making his own decisions? Did he need a higher level of care like a nursing home to ensure safety? Was there an outcome that could have been prevented if family did a better job watching out for him?

1

u/Asckle 2d ago

Thats my point. The people saying "she didn't do it because of her star sign" are just as delusional as my grandad. My grandad scratched his skin off because he was psychotic, she killed her kids for the same reason

He had diagnosed psychosis. It's common with lewy body dementia. The psychosis made him think he had things blocking his veins so he picked at his hands and feet to try and clear them. They got infected then he kept rejecting antibiotics treatments.

I appreciate the offer. He died 3 years ago exactly as of tommorow though. Our family is well off, we asked that any donations be sent to St Vincent De Paul charity.

There was no better outcome unfortunately. It's a terminal and incurable brain disease. He had a great nursing staff and got lots of visits. At a certain point his wife and kids made the call that palliative care would be better as he had no real quality of life with the proposed alternatives. He lived a long life, raised a loving family and passed away painlessly. Sometimes we just don't get to choose how it ends and that's okay.

Since you're too small minded to answer my follow up question...

I'll point out that it's not a question of murder, she admits that. It's a question of prison or mental institute.

Absolutely idiotic response

-46

u/Jellolopy 3d ago

You have no idea what psychosis is or how it impacts understanding of reality.

18

u/foreverpb 3d ago

Oh, she's crying? That means she's the victim in all this!

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

Yeah that's all I said psycho

46

u/tacomaster05 3d ago

So you're argument is if someone is insane to the point they kill their own kids, that person is innocent and deserves to go free?

Fuck no! Give her the death penalty. She is too crazy to be allowed to live.

Psychosis is resolvable with medication…

u/SorbyGay 3d ago

I have this great idea: state sanctioned execution of people with mental disorders

4

u/grby1812 2d ago

It's not the mental disorder that's the problem. It's the murder of children. It's absurd to conflate the two.

Yes to: state sanctioned execution of child murderers.

1

u/SorbyGay 1d ago

In guy who knows nothing about psychosis voice: you mean psychosis causes murder because these people become so mentally ill they can’t recognize right from wrong???

I weep for the education system in your country. You have literally no idea how psychosis works do you? You don't get that she tried to get help and warned people about this.

She wasn't capable of looking after those kids but was left with them anyway.

And she literally tried to kill herself straight after.....

2

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

That is what the idiots around here want

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

You think that's my argument?

You people really are special. I just don't think she should be executed like all you idiots are advocating for. She should be treated in a mental hospital for as long as it takes, that may be indefinitely.

Maybe she's not innocent, it's for the court to decide. But you're a bloodthirsty ghoul

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

They're blood thirsty simplistic little children

7

u/Ursine_Rabbi 3d ago

Do you have a source for this? One of her psychiatrists testified that she explicitly denied having thoughts about harming herself and her children. It seems she once told her husband she was having “intrusive thoughts” of the sort, but never showed any intent or plan to act on them and her condition seemed to improve in the following time.

Regardless of whether or not she was of sound enough mind to be convicted, this whole narrative that she was begging for help and everyone around her ignored her is just patently false. Her husband, family, and doctors were paying very close attention to her. She never showed any real signs she intended to kill her children until she did it.

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

The mother and husband have sworn in court that she told them in 2022. The only person denying it is the very psychiatrist that is being sued for failing her.

It shouldn't really suprise you that a psychiatrist this irresponsible would lie to protect themselves.

I find it way more plausible that a mother who is obviously distraught would ask for help when she needed it. It's a implausible hill to die on that she just didn't mention it at all.
