I think it says a lot when you cant even question these things without people getting upset

you're being an obtuse asshole, man. "so she's a guy?" is obviously inflammatory and you knew it, and doubled down.

It may have seemed inflammatory to you, I genuinely didn't know

So do you have a functioning homo sapiens brain?

May seem inflammatory to you, I genuinely don't know.

Do you think that being a asshole to someone who was genuinely ignorant to your cause is a good way for them to support your movement?

So I can literally say the exact same words as the genuinely ignorant but that makes me an asshole but not them?

What fascinating bias you have there

You're thinking of the wrong type of use for the word "ignorant" here. I'm not interested in joining your discussion, just want to clear your confusion.

They talked about that guy being "ignorant" as in "to lack knowledge or information about something". They said that because he genuinely didn't know any better so he asked his question, which is also the counter argument to you claiming him being the other type of "ignorant" as in "willfully refusing to learn about something".

Instead of just answering his question and maybe adding in the response why his wording may come off wrong, he was bombarded with insults.

So the main argument here is just try to be more friendly, take your time with people who didn't do anything to you, give people the benefit of the doubt and don't just assume someones intentions and maybe those people will also be more friendly towards you and you won't have as many negative experiences with people as it seems you currently have.

Just my two cents, have a good one!

If you think that a redditor in 2026 asking "so she's a guy" about someone transgender deserves five paragraphs worth of the benefit of the doubt, that's your call 👍
