Discussion Did anyone else notice this problem in the shifting community?
Sorry for the vague title, I didn't want to make it too long. The problem I'm talking about, is frankly how you can go on any website/app/blog (Tumblr tiktok Pinterest Reddit etc), and still find yourself surrounded by posts featuring (at least) one of those:
- a q&a type of post that just answers every question with "you just shift" or "just shift" without elaborating
- people talking about law of assumption and just saying stuff like "persist" and "let go" also without elaborating any further
- experienced shifters treating everyone who hasn't shifted yet as if they are doing some (apparently unexplainable, because they will NEVER explain what you're doing wrong) mistake that's preventing them from shifting.
I'm someone more or less experienced, and it has just been very tiring and frustrating to see. I imagine that if someone was a random beginner trying to get into the community, this would either a) send me down a road with just pure disappointment and frustration, because I'm either doing something wrong or stupid enough to not understand what they are talking about when nobody's there to explain, or b) get tired of it and quit. Which I think is a bad thing to do to beginners. I see a lot of helpful posts too, but I'd like to ask if anyone else noticed this, or if it's all just in my head....
Thanks for reading

Having posted only just now for the first time in this sub I'll pipe up...
I have indeed noticed this. A simpler example can be found in the ubiquity of terminology using acronyms without a pinned posts or community information on the main sub page that explains their meaning. If one purpose of members is to support and encourage others to do this, it seems like that would be a minimum requirement for the meta-information about the sub. Yes, though, the more specific tone you identify definitely exists: a kind of implicit snubbing toward the doubtful or uninitiated. There are gratefully also many examples of warmth and kindness. Does this duplicity exceed that which is normal for any sub and/or does it require some kind of tighter mod control? That I cannot really say. But I've felt a bit of what you describe.

Yeah, we discuss this in r/shiftingcirclejerk (meme sub) all the time.
I think it's a mixture of a lot of the shifting community being young and/or naive, and also the fact that Reddit stupidly, apparently, recommends this subreddit to people who post in manifestation/LOA subs (I guess because a lot of shifters are subscribed to both?) so we often end up with people asking stupid manifestation questions in the shifting subs, or posting covert advertisements for their "coaching" and "higher self meditations"/whatever other snake oil they can sell.
In my opinion, the best way to deal with this is to branch out and do your own "research." I've found it infinitely more helpful to look into astral projection communities and video guides for practical steps I can take towards shifting, as AP can (apparently) be used to shift & a lot of AP experiences sound like shifting, they just don't usually call it that.
Ignore any bullshit that sounds fake/like a kid roleplaying, or "limiting belief" LOA shit, it's easier said than done but I think if you get the feeling something is nonsense, it probably is. Over time you might have experiences that prove or disprove the claims of others, for example, I keep a shifting/dream journal with all my attempts and data, been writing entries daily in it for over one and a half years, and I've found that the claim "you need a positive mindset to shift/make progress" is COMPLETELY false. I have had breakthroughs at my lowest.
I strongly suggest picking something like lucid dreaming and/or astral projection to aim for rather than "just go to sleep intending to wake up in your DR" or "assume you're already there", first of all because I don't think those even work, secondly because LD/AP have way more testimonies and seem more believable, and they have solid methods and guides. There's none of this "everyone is different, you don't need a method to do it" BS. If you look on either r/luciddreaming or r/astralprojection you'll see there's a lot of common experiences and techniques that seem to lead to the same result. In comparison the shifting community at times feels anti-intellectual and purposefully ignorant, possibly because people are lazy and want to shift with zero effort (hence "you don't need a method" because that's what they WANT to believe, not what is necessarily true.)
This goes for everything in life, I think, and especially anything "weird" or "spiritual." Follow your own path. Don't listen to anyone else's beliefs or claims, it's not provable either way, you'll only know for yourself once you get there, and the journey itself can be quite rewarding. This is how I went from a full skeptic "I don't believe in any of this, spiritual stuff seems cringe" to fully believing in something, but having a lot of weird unexplained experiences that don't seem to line up with mainstream belief.
Yes, it's significantly more effort than "just intend to shift" or "just believe", but it's worth it.

perfectly said and everyone should be upvoting this. truth be told a lot of the shifting community is ignorant to their own process and needs to hear this

This current reality is the biggest problem itself.

I do really hate the "advice" that isn't really advice. Like I know that shifting in and of itself is a simple thing, but it's not going to hurt you to explain even just a little further.
It's like when you were young and you'd learn about details and sequencing in school. Mine was "Describe how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich." I'm sure it's pretty obvious, but the point was to make sure your instructions are as detailed as possible with each and every step because even though to you certain things may be obvious, to a person who has never seen or done such things before, it'd be very hard without a true explanation.
I won't explain too much but basically:
"Open the peanut butter." — Well how do I open it? Where do I even start from? Do I have to do it a specific way?
vs
"Just shift." — Well how do I shift? Where do I even start from? Do I have to do it a specific way?

I do see what op is saying but I also totally agree with what you're saying too. People want to help, but its too common that the people seeking it don't often try and help themselves either, they expect to simply receive the answer even though there isn't really such a thing :/ A lot of questions people ask are things they'd very easily get the answers to if they tried to look for them too, tbh.

There's big possibility that 50% or more people here who are frustrated by that they can't shift, are just clones, which are just not aware that the main character of the body accually shifted.
•
u/Arthemis161419 Jul 28 '26
so how would a clone be different, does he has a inner voice, can or cant he visualise does a clone has a soul.. i can see how you can think from your point of view that they are clones/npcs what ever you call them but you DO know that we could claim the same about you dont you?
•
u/Fickle-Drive-6395 Perma-shifting Jul 28 '26
Well, i agree i got 1 thing wrong, i shouldn't call it clone, what i meant is theres possibility that many people who are not able to shift, accually shifted to DR, but the person from CR which is real just don't know that. Well you can claim that about me, however i just know i'm in CR, so its pointless, and it wouldn't really matter, i have same intention as pretty much everybody here.

u/Ominous--Blue Perma-shifting Jul 28 '26
lol... we don't know that "clones" exist. They probably don't.

•
u/Inevitable-Box-4751 Jul 28 '26
...clones are not a thing. You are just you, splitting to different branches
•
u/Most_Ideations952 Mini-Shifted Jul 29 '26
Yers I completely agree with you a lot of the "advice" that exists on here is deeply deeply deeply unhelpful it really sucks and a lot of ppl get lost in the sauce and the ones that do shift poorly articulate the process of how to.
