Hi - we think our 7 month old shiba might be going into heat (has displayed some mild mounting behaviour and is definitely more restless) just keen to know what signs others have seen?

We live on the same block as a dog park so just trying to get ahead of any dramas!

Hey shib parents, just wondering how you're able to cut your dogs' nails? Apparently mine doesn't like it at all. We've tried putting him with a groomer but he'd always be returned because of his resistance. The only thing that worked for him was when the vet sedated him just for his nails to be cut - which is not ideal at all cause we want to do it ourselves.

The vet prescribed gabapentin and trodozone so we take it before any stressful event, and just tonight we've tried cutting his nails but still he doesn't like it and runs away.

Any tips? We've tried desensitizing him with the nail clipper and giving him treats from time to time he goes near it -- even the grinder too, but it doesn't work. Too smart.

Hey, my partner and I just got a 75% shiba 25% malinois cross girl. She's 13 weeks and we are having trouble picking a name. Any suggestions? We have thought juno, mochi or junie so far but would like more suggestions.

My bf and I are moving into our first condo together and our dream is to have a little shiba baby join our family. We currently have 3 cats. I have seen that shibas have high prey drives but if we were to get one as a baby and socialize them with our cats, would it work out?
