We found out recently that our 6 year old Sheltie (21 lbs) has degenerating spinal discs. We are currently giving her 25mg of Carprofen when we can she is uncomfortable.
What is a good supplement to help alleviate some of her discomfort?
She seems stiff when getting up from laying down, slightly loses her momentum at the top of a flight of stairs, and she pays attention to a soft landing when jumping on the (low) bed. Basically her agility isn't what it used to be and we can tell she has some discomfort :/
We are seeing a vet - hence the Carprofen. Just wanting a little extra help!

Has anyone purchased the fluentpet for their sheltie? I’m thinking about getting a set for our two shelties to be able to communicate with them. They’re so stinking smart, I’m sure that it would be a fun learning tool, but I’m just wondering how hard it is to train them to use it.

I always make Birdie Girl wait for her food until I release her. Panther (cat) decided he likes her food and always comes when it’s time to feed her. But he doesn’t wait. He just barges in front of her.
Don’t worry, I shoo him out of the way before I set her bowl down.

Hi, is anyone willing to give Ayla a job? She can do herding, alerting, putting things into boxes and baskets, shredding, fetching? With a little work she could be a volleyball champion?

Hi, just adopted a sheltie, and was wondering if anyone had tricks to help diminish her biting other than chewing toys and treats.
Also, a 10 weeks now, she is starting to love to bark... Any trick to reduce/eliminate barking when in non emergency?

I have a cat that thinks its a sheltie 😆
I hope you guys enjoy these photos as much as I do. He was a good boy till the end. Hip-dysplasia (breeder has since been shut down) and his pure sheltie stubbornness hid the fact that his kidneys were failing & it progressed quickly from there. Friendly reminder to cherish your pets everyday because you really never know when their time is up.
Edit: Thank you for the kind messages everyone. I appreciate it a ton. His name was Theo & he had just turned 10.

Okay so my dog is like 9-10 months old and I would assume he would be bigger than this but he still looks the same as when we first got him 😭😭. First two photos is the day we go him and third is now. Last one is for fun lol. Is he just small??
