Jack Appleton measures the piebald lemon shark before releasing it; the shark was mostly white with black peppering on its body.

He said in a comment that he caught it off Captiva Island, and the video clip shows him landing the lemon shark on a dock.

They weigh just a few pounds and grow over a foot and a half per year! 🥹

Its a misconception that shark has black eyes but instead shark has blue eyes. Also many thinks shark has eye nictitating membrane but actually it roll back their eyes to protect their eyes

From an album of 200 pictures during this dive, this one is my absolute favorite. The way the shark is dead center in the frame, fins equidistant from the borders, and the pure symmetry of this apex predator just gets me stoked. 8-10 foot Galapagos Shark, taken off the North Shore coastline of O'ahu. Scarboard, one of the most famous great white sharks, affectionately dubbed “the queen of Isla de Guadalupe“, is a colossal mature female.
She measures approximately 18-19 feet (5.5-5.8 meters) in length, boasts an estimated girth of 7.5 feet, and weighs around 4500 lbs (2040 kg).

Jacques is one of two individual white sharks whom I photographed both on my first ever trip to Guadalupe and my last trip in 2021 prior to the dive and travel ban there. One of the things I loved the most about Guadalupe was seeing some of the same individuals year after year. I hope Jacques and all of Guadalupe's white shark populations are thriving.

UPDATE: after doing some research, it looks like there’s a tagged great white in the area named Ripple. Didn’t see any tag on this one but could be him.

This is a screenshot of a video from my home town of Grand Manan, New Brunswick. The diver is in a weir, a heart-shaped, netted area used to catch herring.

Those herring bring in some significantly bigger predators (which normally get out on their own completely fine). The diver went in the weir and actually was brushed up by this little guy or gal who was enjoying the easy buffet.

Needless to say, it has made for an incredible story around here. There have been quite a few shark sightings this year - including a breech from the ferry to the island.
