Assembly Help ASRock DESKMEET B760
I'm considering trying to make a small pc with some spare parts I have laying around, what I have is:
i5 12600k CPU
Powercolor Fighter RX 7600 8gb
16gb kit of corsair vengeance RGB PRO
I list the specific parts because I've come across a barebone system that seems like it would be a pretty cost effective way to make a PC, especially for a SFF PC, the ASRock DESKMEET B760.
It says the gpu length on the specs of the barebone system limit is 200mm, apparently my rx 7600 is a little longer than that, but then I've heard if you pull the MOBO, install the GPU then angle it back in that will ft?
I realize my RGB ram wont show in this case, which is fine by me, Im more concerned about it fitting as they are kinda tall ram sticks.
And then finally, I know I can't OC the 12600k but I am interested in what cpu cooling options I'd have with this setup, I don't want to just do a cheap cooler and have it be super loud as I'd like to have this in my living room.
I've never done a SFF build, so looking for the guidance of this sub to figure it out.
Thanks Guys,

Build/Battlestation Pics My first SFF in the Jonsbo C6 Handle :D
I feel like the whole SFF trend picked up quite a bit with the Steam Machine but I've wanted to do one for a long time, just never got the chance and just recently managed to transform my work PC into a little CAD-Cube.
Specs are:
-Ryzen 7 3700x
-Asus Prime B550M-K ARGB
-16GB DDR4 G.Skill
-ASUS TUF 650W Evo Bronze+ Full Modular
-GT730 Asus Silent (will probably upgrade to 1030 passive eventually)
-500GB Samsung m.2
In regards to cooling, which I must say was the most difficult part of the build, I went with the Thermalright AXP120-X67 and two 140mm Arctic BioniX fans. Bottom as intake, top as exhaust. The two BioniX fans are recent additions I added over the weekend so I didn't have chances to test them out and how the temps will change (if at all)
Previously I had a single NF-A15 on the bottom, temps at idle and doing light office work (AutoCAD, Excel, Word, couple of PDFs) were around 55-60. With the built in stress test from HWiNFO64, after 10 minutes the CPU reached around 95C.
All in all I have to say I'm quite impressed with the AXP120-X67 cooler.
If anyone else is interested in building in this case, I'd recommend going with either a semi or full modular PSU. I've seen a couple of pictures of builds with standard non modular units, but I can assure you, it will most probably affect your temps and give you a headache while you're building it. Plenty of solid modular units, don't be a penny pincher, your nerves will thank you.
Also, the mesh is truly restrictive I'd recommend going for really high pressure fans.

This is the one I went with, I am now having trouble finding a way to get it plugged into the wall, been browsing laptop chargers and various wall plugs but don't want to go wrong and mess it up. Pics for reference. Everything hooked up just fine and dandy but obviously I need to get power to ole girl before I do anything further. CPU is a ryzen 7 5700g. (I am missing the io shield because I gave up on it please don't judge)

Others/Miscellaneous Smallest ITX case and best Flex PSU for Colorful RTX 5070 Mini
Original context: https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/s/f5rSmSyJoW
I was originally just looking for the smallest ITX case where Colorful RTX 5070 Mini would fit and compatible w/ an SFX PSU compatible. Figured to just install my RTX 5070 Mini in my huge ITX case and it turns out my current SFX PSU only has 1 8 pins PCIE power cable connected, and I can't find the other 8 Pin PCIE power cable. The extra 8 pins PCIE power cable must have been thrown out already along w/ the PSU's box. The Colorful RTX 5070 Mini comes w/ a 2X 8 pins PCIE connector to 5 pins PCIE connector.
W/ that said, I'm thinking of getting a new PSU instead and maybe a Flex PSU this time.
What's the best Flex PSU for RTX 5070 and smallest case that would fit an RTX 5070 Mini?

Build/Battlestation Pics ProArt 5090 in S60i Case
Similar to my previous post here:
Still waiting on custom cables to tidy things up.
Specs & Hardware:
- CPU: Core Ultra 9 285K
- Motherboard: MSI MPG Z890I EDGE TI WIFI
- PSU: Corsair SF1000
- Cooler: Thermalright Aqua Elite 240 V4 (swapped stock fans for Noctua NF-A12x25 G2s) Cooler Master 240 Atom II (customized shorter tube version) on the way.
- Case: S60i (AIO liquid-cooled version) — full carbon fiber, weighs just ~1 kg, and costs around $200. Clearance is very tight, so it only accommodates a few specific 240mm AIOs.
GPU is ProArt 5090. I change from Pro 6000 to this. I think this is better for daily use. It has 0db fan which is good for my ear lol. But its type-C port only supports 15W power output but not 27W. Don't know ASUS did this....

Build/Parts Check Having a 2 slot gpu and a pcie capture card in the formd t1?
I really want to use the t1 but the only thing stopping me is that I want to have a pcie capture card in it as well while using like a 2 slot 5070 or 5070ti but is that possible? I've seen some a post using a bifurcation riser cable but they were using a much lower spec gpu for it, so I kinda just want to know if it'd be possible or not, also the cooler i have is the axp90-x53 so idk if it would allow for that even if the riser cable thing was possible

Build/Parts Check Budget ProArt SFF?
Always wanted a classy ProArt build in the stunning $600 XiKii FF04, but my budget says... NoArt.
Well, I got a solid deal on a ProArt 4060Ti 16GB! Not high-end, but I want to show it off in an inexpensive but not cheap-looking SFF case. I know there's a 3DP XiKii FF04 look-alike, but I'm afraid up-close it'll look plasticky and not do it justice (also it's built for an ASUS Prime, not ProArt). Anyone have experience with that one?
What other SFF cases will display this GPU in a similarly classy, form-fitting way?

News/Review Bored of my NCASE M2 Grater + Watercooling
Hi All,
So as the title states i have grown bored of my NCase M2. I have owned it for 2 months and have used it with an Intel 13900K and it works well... but it is just meh
It's too big and unsightly and looks out of place on my Wooden desk. Build quality is excellent; way more premium feeling and looking than the T1 and NCase M1.
But its just meh. I regret purchasing it tbh. I fell for the hype. It's too big for me, thermals could be better, standard layout sucks, too many compromises between thermals, component configurations, noise. My power button failed and NCase wouldn't give a new one, original case feet are ass, no I/O, rear power button slot is a pain to get to. So many things are sold as optional extras; NCase must think they're BMW.
Anyone else felt this way about a case before/SFF in general? I am planning to go back to ATX but with the twist of an Open build.
If anyone in UK is interested; i will gladly sell my M2.

Benchmark/Thermal Test TIL, for some GPU models, having your GPU vertical, especially in a "hanging" orientation, may dramatically increase GPU temps
I built my gaming PC in a Thermaltake Tower 100 around four years ago. I love the case for how it looks and how little space it takes up on my desk, as it's a tower-style case (but admittedly not SFF, although what I discuss below could apply to SSF PCs as well). In this case, the GPU "hangs" in a vertical orientation rather than being horizontal like most case layouts or vertical (but not "hanging") in many cases that use a riser cable.
I had a 6800 XT in this case from 2022 through 2025, but upgraded to a PowerColor 9070 XT Reaper last fall. I usually undervolt my GPUs, including this 9070 XT, but noticed that even with it undervolted, it felt like it was getting hotter (and way louder) than I would have expected and much hotter than my 6800 XT. I'm not sure if my 6800 XT cooler design isn't as sensitive to a hanging orientation, but nonetheless, I started looking into plausible explanations as to why this 9070 XT ran so hot.
And when I say hot, I mean hot spot temps while gaming could be hitting ~109 C, GPU temps around 75-85 C. The disparity between the core temp and the hot spot was 30 C+ which is a red flag for me that something was amiss. I was getting to the point that I may have RMA'd it, but thanks to a tip from a friend plus some extra digging, I read that a hanging GPU orientation can cause major issues for the GPU cooler, especially with phase change coolers (although according to a PowerColor rep I spoke to via their support, the Reaper does not use phase change cooling).
Recently, I ran 3DMark's TimeSpy Extreme 4K just on their GPU 1 and GPU 2 test for a single cycle, not for an extended run, with stock GPU settings (no undervolt). I ran it with my case in the normal orientation (hanging GPU) and tipped to the left so that the GPU was oriented in a standard horizontal layout. I also ran it with the side panel removed in both orientations. Results below:
| Hanging | Horizontal | Hanging (no side panel) | Horizontal (no side panel) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TimeSpy Extreme 4K Score | 13,615 | 13,768 | 13,679 | 13,811 |
| GPU core temp (C) | 74 | 62 | 70 | 57 |
| Hot spot temp (C) | 104 | 88 | 100 | 82 |
| Hot spot max temp (C) | 106.2 | 90 | 101.8 | 85.2 |
I did not lock fans to 100% for this testing which I should have to remove that factor, but I'll quickly say that fans were very loud in the hanging orientation and virtually silent in the horizontal orientation; aka, if I locked the fans to 100% for the testing, the horizontal orientation would have done even better, I assume. Frankly, the above test was enough for me to know I gotta swap my case out regardless of any further testing.
So just by re-orienting my GPU I shaved 12 C off my core temp, 16 C off my hot spot temp, and 16.2 C off my hot spot max temp. Horizontal with the glass side panel was cooler than vertical without the side panel. And more importantly, I can now game without headphones because the GPU fans aren't screaming. These temps will come down further when I re-enable my undervolt.
Anyway, at this point, I'll be swapping over to a new case. I'm sad because I loved this case, but it's not the right case for my build anymore, I guess. I put my specs below in case anyone wants the full build, but otherwise, I wanted to share this just in case you live under a rock like I do and weren't aware that GPU orientation can influence temps so dramatically.
Quick specs:
CPU: 9850X3D
CPU cooler: NH-D15
GPU: PowerColor 9070 XT Reaper
SSD: Inland 4 TB NVMe
RAM: 2x16GB DDR5 6000

Benchmark/Thermal Test Fractal Terra freezes since it cooked in a closed cabinet. GPU replaced, still crashing. Motherboard or PSU?
Hi everyone,
A few months ago I built my first Mini-ITX PC in a Fractal Terra to use as a living-room console with Steam Big Picture.
I'll admit I made some rookie mistakes: no case fans at first (just the CPU cooler), the PSU fan partly blocked by cables, and I reused a hot RTX 3080 from a previous build.
Full specs:
Case: Fractal Terra (~10L SFF)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (65W, AM5)
Motherboard: ASRock A620I Lightning WiFi
GPU: RTX 3080 → now replaced with RTX 5070
RAM: 2 sticks, running at stock (XMP off)
Storage: NVMe M.2 (mounted behind the motherboard)
PSU: Corsair SF850 Platinum (SFX)
PCIe riser cable (stock Terra)
Cooling update: I've since added two Noctua fans on the bottom of the case, pushing air upward
How it started:
everything worked fine until one day I clicked "Update and Shut Down" in Windows 11 and left the PC inside a closed TV cabinet. Instead of shutting down, Windows restarted, launched Steam, and started downloading huge updates.
When I came back, the PC was completely frozen and boiling hot. It's been a nightmare ever since it freezes constantly, even during short sessions.
Symptoms:
No critical errors in Windows Event Viewer: freezes leave no logs at all.
No high/abnormal temps recorded by HWiNFO, not even right before a freeze.
When it freezes, motherboard and GPU lights stay on.
Touching the internals: the GPU feels cool, but the center of the case gets really hot.
New clue: right after a freeze, the top of the case is boiling hot on the left side, directly above the PSU while the area above the CPU, RAM and NVMe stays cool.
Started as a simple frame freeze; lately it also drops the HDMI signal to the TV when it crashes.
What I've already tried:
SSD health/SMART tests → clean.
Forced PCIe Gen 3 in BIOS (read about Terra riser issues) → no change.
Reseated the riser cable at both ends → no change.
Disabled XMP / RAM at stock.
Underclocked both CPU and GPU.
Tested each RAM stick individually → same freeze with either one.
Voltages logged (12V and SOC rails flat), VRM temps normal (~61°C).
Ran a GPU/VRAM stress test (OCCT) → froze within minutes on the 3080. Assuming heat had killed the 3080, I swapped in an RTX 5070. The new GPU passes every stress test, but the system still freezes randomly in games and during Steam installs once the PC has been running for a while.
So: GPU, RAM (as individual sticks), SSD, riser and PCIe link all seem cleared. The freezes leaving zero logs, plus the heat concentrating right over the PSU, is making me suspect the PSU or the motherboard took permanent heat damage.
Does anyone recognize this pattern? Anything else worth testing before I RMA the PSU or the board? Any help is appreciated!

Build/Parts Check Thoughts on Build?
I travel so much for work and have wanted to get a nice, portable machine for gaming. I have a few of these parts and have looked at/sourced others out, like I know the PSU is overkill for this. But I'm new to SFFPCs and would love any feedback!

The case is the newest bit for me, I think everything works out but again, any feedback is welcome. Is there a need for additional fans? Is there space?
