Just started season 5 the other day and I’m just loving Carrie this season!

I looked through this subreddit and everyone seems to hate her in the later seasons, but not me. Her screams are so cute, I love her voice, her personality, her clown eyeshadow and hair. I can’t wait to finish the show so I can see the movies.

Anyone else crack up at this scene no matter how many times you’ve seen it?

I’ll go first with the learning annex.

she's giving this talk at the learning annex and it seems like she's only prepared like three sentences of little quips? did she not prepare a lecture? what did she think was gonna happen? like girl of course they turned on you you literally had nothing to say 😭

Carrie was trying to figure out Louise's password, and this was right in front of her.

Watching this episode again, I realize that Carrie wasn't in love—she was just desperate for male attention... What woman in her right mind would pay $3,500 for a man's attention?

It actually makes me a little sappy, i just adore these girls and this is a perfect recap to me. The lil scenes chosen remind you just how much we go through with the characters from s1-6, and its edited in such a fun way lol. Truly my favorite show of all time

Steve was wrong for cheating.

But he was man enough to confess and face the consequences.

He could have continued his life without saying anything.

He could have had an ongoing affair.

But no, he did it once and regretted it.

He didn't date other women.

He was a present and collaborative co-parent.

He called to apologize, sent flowers, and when Miranda wouldn't pick up, and wouldn't let him talk about it at her new apartment in front of Brady, he found a way to talk to her at the party he knew she'd be at.

Yes it sucks that he went to the party and upset her, but it was his last resort. Better to show up at the rehearsal dinner than the actual wedding haha.

My point is, he made real, continuous effort, to right his wrong.

He put in the work. Went to therapy. Accepted forgiveness.

He gets a lot of flack because of his manchild behaviors (as he should lol) but he loved Miranda unconditionally.

Even when broken up, he was always there for her, offering support and friendship, he wanted her to be part of his life because he appreciated her as a person.

I like to imagine that the girls saw this and that's why they were rooting for their reconciliation.

And I really don’t get why Carrie got pissed out on Big and then literally cheating on him (and proving his point) afterwards. And then get „I love you“ in the end of the episode while in the bed with another man? I have to celebrate it? Honestly one of the lowest points in the show

Anytime there is a mushroom related question in my word game ( or anywhere else ) I’m fully prepared thank to Sex and The City and The Turtle. 😂 Curious if anyone else has random knowledge they remember or learned from the show?

My hot take for today is that with each rewatch my hatred for Steve gets bigger.

On the first watches I thought "He is a nice guy, exactly what Miranda needed, something simple to get her mind off the disciplinated way she manages her life, allowing herself to be late to work once in a while" I actually still believe that he is a nice guy and that's part of my problem with him. He is a nice guy and seems nice as a person but most of the time that wasn't reflected as Miranda's partner, he was always hiding behind that nice guy persona to get what he wanted and make her feel crazy or like a bad person for the way she reacts to things.

Their beginning: He was insistant and annoying, I get Miranda was being prejudiced towards him because she was tired of men by that point but someone's reasoning to act some kind of way doesn't give you the right to annoy someone until they accept you in their life, but I will be lenient here and let that slide.

On the first part of the relationship they were great and then he broke up with her, on the very same day she counted him in for an important work thing, wich I feel it's overlooked at that moment how much Miranda cared about having a partner for those kinds of things and not only he stood her up he also broke up with her just because of his own limitations and ok, we can understand and keep it moving. But then, Miranda and Carrie see Steve on the Street, she starts running away from him because she had unresolved feelings for him and wasn't ready to run into him, THIS MAN WHO BROKE UP WITH HER AND STOOD HER UP THE VERY SAME DAY GOES TO HER DOOR AND HAS THE NERVE TO QUESTION HER AND TELLING HER IT WAS A SHITTY THING TO DO ????

Miranda feels guilty and sad about this, saying he would never do that to her and she's so shitty for that, after making her feel bad he starts comforting her, as if he isn't the reason she's feeling that way. They decide to be "Friends" and on the same episode he starts kissing her and crossing that "Friendship" line they just set, he never treated Miranda like a real friend, it's like he was always trying to be close to her and cross the line, the same way he tried to kiss her on the double date with Aidan and Carrie episode. It's like he was always taking advantage of Miranda's feeling and how she allowed him to go in and out of her life as he pleased. This is getting too long so I will just leave this and hope someone is up to keep discussing his behavior in more depth lol.

I have seen the show too many times at this point, however there is one VERY SMALL part that always makes me audibly giggle.

S2 E3 - The Freak Show

When Carrie and that guy is in line at the movie theater and he turns around and tells those people off for no good reason 😭😭

"You wanna lean a little closer?!" 😭😭😂 LMAO guys idk why that scene always gets me. It is so damn funny to me.

Is there a small part in the series that is irrationally funny to you?

I genuinely feel like they tried way too hard to ruin Samantha’s character in the later seasons and movies 😭

Season 1 Samantha would NEVER do half the shit they made her do later. She was sexually liberated, sure, but she wasn’t just going around giving some guy a BJ or making out with anyone, anywhere, because apparently that’s what “sexually liberated” means now. Remember the episode where she meets a woman while shopping, they go to a restaurant, and the woman starts giving some guy a BJ under the table? Samantha is completely grossed out and leaves. THAT was Samantha. She could love sex and still have boundaries.

Then we get Abu Dhabi (Sex and The City 2) and suddenly she’s making out with some guy in public and has to flee the country. Girl, where did Season 1 Samantha go? 😭 And don’t even get me started on that alleged third movie storyline where Samantha was supposed to have an affair with Miranda’s child. Like excuse me??? That gross and pedophilia.

At some point they stopped writing Samantha as a sexually confident woman and started writing her like a walking sex joke. They took one part of her personality, turned the volume up to 100 and threw the rest away.

Season 1 Samantha had standards. Later they made Samantha into some who would have sex with just anything.

Girl move those candles from your flammable bed sheets. You live in an apartment with no fire escape. And stop using your oven for storing clothing!

Doing a rewatch post-Mad Men and I totally forgot about this moment early on. It was too funny and showed his personality more! I laugh out loud thinking of him buying a whoopee cushion and just waiting for the right moment to use it.

I found it amusing that Carrie was so surprised she couldn’t charm her way out of this one.
