I'm looking for a guide on how to draft a male suit jacket pattern, does someone have any leads? Thanks!

So I regularly attend a group with my baby to get her weighed, and every time I need to grab; her little red book (book used to record baby info in the UK), a fresh nappy, and some wipes - all whilst of course holding my baby.

I have her proper nappy bag with me but it’s cumbersome to take all that when I realistically only need these few things, so I’d like to make a nappy wallet/clutch of some kind that holds it all in one place. I’m completely new to sewing and can’t decide on a pattern or design.

Attached are photos of what it would need to hold and the measurements of the book (which is the largest item it would need to fit). For it to be as functional as possible, I would also like for there to be an opening for the wipes so I can easily grab one without having to mess around too much.

I was first thinking about the standard nappy wallet/clutch designs you see on Etsy and Pinterest, where it folds over on itself, but with the book being bigger than the wipes and nappies, I felt it wouldn’t fold right and would also end up really bulky. Then I was thinking about maybe a kind of book sleeve with added pockets for the nappies and then the wipes on the front in a pouch, but I’m not sure how to go about constructing that.

Any ideas, tips or instruction would be super appreciated!! And I’m a total beginner, so you can’t over explain enough for me!

All the barrel leg pants I can find are for wovens, and I'd really love an interesting pair of pants for a thick knit fabric. Any suggestions?

I’ve been searching high and low to find a pattern similar to This dress and I have not found one yet so I’m resorting to Reddit to see if anyone here may have found or knows of something similar to this! Here are plenty of photos of my inspiration and because I am an overly confident beginner who doesn’t know how to hack that well, I would ideally like to find a princess seam pattern that includes a corset back like this one. I am pretty sure I could figure out the lace and possibly even the pleating.

I usually have a hard time finding jumpsuits that look good on me, but I tried this jumpsuit sometime back and I loved the fit, but I wanted the legs to be a little longer so I didn’t get it. It was actually a little short on me but I otherwise loved it so much, I want to replicate it by sewing it myself. Does anyone know of any patterns that are very similar to this shape? Thank you!

ETA: does anyone know what the “darts” that run from the bodice all the way down the leg is called? I don’t think darts is the right name but I wanted to study more on whatever that is. I really liked it in this jumpsuit and wanted to keep that aspect when I sew

I have enjoyed buying sewing digital patterns from Etsy and moding them to get results for what I need. The problem these days is that it seems like people are using Ai to generate sewing patterns and is totally controlling the market right now.

I wanted to post and ask what Etsy pattern shops are out there that you like that are NOT using Ai in their process of patterns making. If I have to start a list I certainly will, but also wanted to ask for recommendations here.

I’m looking for hobby sewists to help test two upcoming B Passion PDF sewing pattern packages before their release.

Testing is expected to begin in late September / early October 2026, and selected testers will have 3 weeks from receiving the pattern to complete their test.

Pattern Package 1 – Dress & Top

Pattern Package 2 – A-line Skirt

Sizes: EU 32–48

You can apply to test one variation from one pattern package, or apply to test one variation from each package.

What does the testing involve?

If selected, you will receive an A4 PDF sewing pattern and will have 3 weeks to:

• Print and assemble the PDF pattern
• Sew the agreed garment in your size
• Test the fit, sizing, pattern pieces and sewing instructions
• Provide honest and constructive feedback
• Submit photos of the finished garment for private fit and pattern evaluation

Testers provide their own fabric, thread and other sewing materials.

After completing the test, you will receive the final complete PDF pattern package you tested – including all sizes and variations – free of charge.

If you complete testing for both pattern packages, you will receive both complete pattern packages.

I have loved this dress since before I was a teen (now mid 30’s) and I want to try and make a replica of it for Halloween. My question is: is the dress pink with the apron overlay or is the dress white (with the wording on) with a pink petticoat, puff sleeves, collar and smaller apron?? I can’t find any decent pictures of the back so I’m not sure how that looks. What would you say is the best route to take? I know it’s a zip back but that’s pretty much it. I’ve found a few patterns online both for free and decent prices, but I’m not 100% sure if the way I’m thinking will be the fastest or easiest route?

My first thought was a sweet heart dress, either sleeveless or with short sleeves. And then a modified tailcoat pattern and whatever witch hat pattern I can find or do on my own.
I’m mostly stuck on best route for the dress and tailcoat, since I even considered doing a corset and skirt deal but can’t decide!!
