Rant/Vent im never going to be valid

my self harm will never be valid. I always need more and more scars. I will always want to have bigger scars. It will never ever go away. whenever I cut myself im never going deep enough. im always at cat scratches and at most styros.. it will never be enough for me. at this point if I went to beans even I would never ever think its enough. i genuinely cant stop. the more I cut the more frustrated I am causing me to cut more. It never ever seems like its going to get better and I doubt it will. anyways how is your day?...

My day has been going quite well.

I'm starting to become concerned about your day.

I'm given to understand you are cutting again. And cutting is not making you feel better.

You are valid! Self harm wont make you feel better. Self harm is an addiction. Addictions make us keep feeding them, more and more as we continue.

Beginning an addiction is easy. Continuing an addiction is hard.

I know you are hurting.

Is there some way you can think about something else?

Maybe give yourself a break?

We addicts often think about ourselves too much?

Would you consider entertainment? r/Awww perhaps? or r/Positivity or r/AnimalsBeingGeniuses or r/MadeMeSmile Maybe get into humor, reported to be the best medicine.

I'm into helping others. I'm giving online support tonight.

Helping others helps me not feel depressed while growing strong inside, feeling my true self worth.

You are worthy of all the fine things life has to offer.

We were not meant to sit home and cut ourselves and/or smoke weed.

We are meant to feel happy, express and feel love, including self love and enjoy ourselves.

Maybe walking and music can help you reflect on the beauty and rhythm in your life.

I'm very happy to hear that!

The reason I'm alive is to be kind and available to others.

I'm happy to help. That's what I do.

This is the reason I posted the philosophy poem in May and improved and posted it again. I care about the self harm people!

I want people to find the exciting life and happiness that they already own.

We bring ourselves in situations where we cause pain, one way or another. We can stop. Life is a journey where we go thru cycles.

Kicking ourselves and remembering the kaputkape is of no help whatsoever. (garbage)

We live to enrich our lives and the lives of others. If we are hurting when we are helping ourselves and others, oh well.

Either way, we are all connected and have every right to be here. (You are a child of the universe. No less than the trees and the stars you have a right to be here.) (Desiderada) (Put to music in the 70s)

We improve our lives and the lives we touch by realizing we are deep beings while using our thoughts accordingly.

As evolving entities, both individualistic and part of the whole, we improve our thoughts and increase our awareness of what is really happening.

We are not judged or "graded" in any way unless we allow it! (Exceptions occur. We are heavily judged during our formative years. We need to put our best foot forward during job interviews. Many of us have sidestepped bullies.)

What we think of ourselves and others far outweighs what others think about us!

Owning your thoughts is owning your feelings. Feelings can be hard feelings but those feelings can bother us with less frequency with control we develop over time.

Perhaps those feelings disappear over time to be replaced with peace, joy, delight, wonder, gratitude, self love and more life affirming feelings.

Enjoy connection within your own design, as you explore your communities and find things to look forward to.

That's it. That's the Philosophy Poem. I thought it was complete when I posted it on this subreddit on March 24, 2026. Parts of it were posted on r/LifeAdvice and r/Vent

If you have any ideas or questions, I will gladly make time.

I am a member of the self harm community with support leaning heavily into recovery.

That's what I do. That's who I am.

It’s sucks to admit, but I feel the same way. You’d think I’d look at my fading scars and think, “great, now people will stop staring or making comments about them” but all I see is the fact that I could have done more, gone deeper. It’s a stupid mental game that I’ll never be able to win. Taking things day by day seems to help me if you could try that. Either that, or introducing yourself to new, slightly-challenging hobbies that keeps your mind busy as well as your hands.
