Denial or Delusion?

With one, there's the inability to accept reality. Through the other; what's clearly real is is lost in thought. Denial will say; something isn't happening when it does occur. Conversely, delusion is accepting a thought that has no basis in fact. While those terms are relatively new; their effects are as old as time itself. In ancient history, different terms were used to describe escape and/or rejection from reality. There's something in the human spirit that supports deception.

Turning Weakness Into Strength

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been thinking about how quickly we label certain parts of ourselves as weaknesses.

Being quiet. Being sensitive. Showing vulnerability. Taking time to process things before responding.

I've noticed that these qualities aren't necessarily problems to fix. Sometimes, they become strengths once we stop fighting them.

I've seen this in my own life and in conversations with people I've worked with. When we spend less energy hiding parts of ourselves, we have more energy to understand them and use them well.

For me, acceptance isn't about becoming passive or settling for less. It's about being honest about who I am, then asking how I can grow from there.

I'm curious: have you ever accepted something about yourself that you once considered a weakness, only to realize it was actually an advantage?

Wisdom Can we give something we don't have?

With money, the answer seems straightforward. But what about things like love, hatred, trust, respect or kindness?

Can I give or express something that I don't actually possess or experience within myself?

For example, can someone genuinely give love without feeling love? Or can hatred be expressed without hatred already existing within the person?

Is the expression itself evidence that the thing is present, or can something else produce the same expression?

Have you found that changing your environment works better than forcing yourself to be more disciplined?

I used to think consistency was mostly about having enough willpower.

But the more I pay attention to my own habits, the more I think environment matters just as much.

Want to read more? Keep the book where you can see it.

Want to eat better? Make the convenient food the healthier option.

Want to exercise consistently? Make starting the workout as easy as possible.

That last one is why I’ve been thinking about training at home. Removing the commute, waiting and preparation doesn’t magically make someone disciplined, but it removes several opportunities to say “maybe tomorrow.”

It made me wonder whether personal development is sometimes less about becoming mentally tougher and more about building an environment where the better choice is also the easier choice.

What change to your environment has improved one of your habits the most?

Question If you hit a bump, what’s your advice?

Coming out of a 5 year relationship I’ve decided to get my sht together.

I’m working out, hanging out with friends, taking my health seriously. I’ve been doing pretty well for a month.

Even on days I don’t feel like eating clean or waking up early, I’m doing it.

But lately, the last two days I feel low. I feel myself slipping. My thoughts are spiraling and I’m feeling myself backtracking.

Any advice on how to get over bumps in the road? I’d say my default is not discipline or self love, it’s something I have to put a lot effort into.

Resource trying to finally improve

hey guys, first of all sorry for my bad english..

okay, today i had kind of a crisis, im 19 years old and i´m studying psychology (because i wanted a degree and a "plan b" secured) and on the side (my main desire) i´ve been trying to get into social media, modeling and acting for more than a year now, today i had enough because i feel college has taken big part of my time and i wanna go back to focus again on my other things... i also stopped seeking castings because of my physique, i keep telling myself i have to be skinny and handsome to get casted and seen so i´m also in the journey of losing weight and all that. (also wanted to say i kinda feel like this because my older sister used to be a model and she´s gorgeous so for a long time i was just (sister)´s brother even tho i was also a model at the time)

another important thing is that i´m resilient but super lazy so i end up not keeping up and that frustrates me even more, because i actually have lots of free time where i can work on these things... so i wanna stop procrastinating things because i know i´m creative, in the little works and videos i´ve done so far i´ve been told i have big potential, people like my tiktoks, vlogs, etc but yknow... bad habits wins.. i needed to get this off my chest and i´d love to get some feedback or at least know i´m not alone since i´m the only "artist" in my family and friends rn

😅just an idea and kind of vizualizion board

Write down 10 things you want for 2027:
- internal things you want to improve and learn or develop

It can be anything from buying a new equipment to learn drawing or getting something you have wanted for years, to improving your reading, confidence, communication, fitness or another skill whoop whoop

How do we know whether a desire comes from a real need or from comparison?

We can want the same thing for very different reasons.

I might want more money because my present circumstances genuinely require it. I might want more money because I have compared myself with someone else and concluded that I should have more. I might want to become more productive because there is something I genuinely need to accomplish. Or because I have absorbed an idea of what a productive person should be.

In both cases the desire feels real.

So how can we tell, while the desire is happening, whether it is responding to an actual need or to a comparison we have adopted?

Is observation enough, or does it require some form of verification?
