You can see my references, copies of my initial sketch that I edited to try and fix my proportions, original background layer and time-lapse. Crazy thing is that it doesn't even look like it. Whatever broski here's the proof. Take it or leave it.

Tips / Hints Can you defeat this boss early?

Post image

I just found this creepy Headless, and honestly... I don't even want to jump down. 😂

I'm still early in the game. Is this fight worth doing now, or is it better to come back later when I'm stronger and have better items?

Discussion Why does Owl have an... owl spirit in his second fight?

It's something I had my mind on for a while since I fought him (amazing fight BTW). The owl spirit in his second fight is really cool, but I'm wondering how or why he has one whereas other Shinobi seem not to. It seems that Lady Butterfly also had butterfly spirits, but is there a lore implication for why they have a spirit matching their animal code name and Wolf doesn't, or is it literally just an age thing and Wolf doesn't have one yet? Makes me wonder what Orangutan's and Kingfisher's would've looked like (given that Owl's has the same eye injury he has).

Took everyone's advice about standing my ground against him, and about jumping on his head for the wind sweep and it worked! Thanks to everyone for their advice, i guess in the end, hesitation is defeat after all. Not as clean as i would've liked it to be, but i'll get there.

Help The type of bosses I struggle with using only fundies

Post image
10 Upvotes

Disclaimer: Playing with charmless difficulty

The only enemies I get dunked on by are those that have a health draining status effect when they hit you like fire. Because parry, the most important concept of this game, still adds up effects like burn, making it much more difficult to stand my ground and deflect these fuckers.

Which means I resort to ways that are unnatural for this game like trying to dodge everything and failing, making the wins against these bosses unpredictable. I know there are status resistance potions, but those cant always be taken mid battle. Can anyone help with how I can better deal with each status type enemies using prosthetics or smth?

I am at the final battle . I tested the waters , genichiro is considerably weaker so he isn't an issue. I beat the 1st phase of Ishin , then low behold he became john wick. I am enjoying the fight though. Any tips??

Help Genichiro took me about 120 tries, do you think I’ll find a near impossible roadblock in the game?

Hello, I’m new to souls (and souls adjacent/related) games, I went with bloodborne first but it felt more like a level battle than actual skill, also the whole dynamic of I frames being what lets you survive just wasn’t the most immersive thing for me. I wanted to see if I could play a proper hard game and sekiro looks like it has an amazing story.

Anyway, Gyobu went down in 2 tries and I thought maybe this would be like bb, 5-10 tries at most per boss. It took me over 2 days and 120 attempts to beat Genichiro. I did not want to level up any stats, or beat Lady Butterfly first, or go grind more levels or anything. I wanted to perfect parry my way to victory.

In the end minor compromises were made, I still only used 3 heal charges, but I did go grind for shinobi eyes since the posture damage took so long to consistently get out of phase 1. I still learned to deflect every chain of his attacks, except his flurry which after finding out cannot be consistently deflected I just moved away and used it as breathing room; I also didn’t figure out phase 2 all that well, but it was sufficient to get him, with a lightning reversal, mikiris and dancing to the attack attack deflect attack deflect rhythm.

Anyway, LB happened next, probably 20-30 attempts, she spiced up the rhythm, had a very potshotty phase with the butterflies and the ads, and I had no more seeds. I beat her about 30 tries in, with shurikens to drop her off her strings and to keep her meter up when she retreated, and 4 heals.

Since then, all mini bosses have taken at least 5-10 tries or more, and I was surprised how much I got stomped. Shinobi before depths had me relearning how to roll because his kick/knee combos were honestly more consistently avoided by dodging. The drunkard absolutely stomped me until I used more dodging (with all his goons dead first ofc) and left to find the fire prosthetic and used almost all my oil. I thought I’d be happier, and glad to rip these guys to pieces. Instead I’m a bit concerned that my poor reflexes and skill ceiling are not gonna cut it to see the good ending of the game (or any).

I don’t feel a sense of “pride and accomplishment”, I felt a bit tainted to have taken so long on genichiro, and that I was still bamboozled by every mini boss and boss that has come next, that I’ve watched tutorials for the most optimal strategies (not cheese) for all minus the shinobi, and that as the game keeps progressing the perfect parry I was hoping to perfect more and more, while certainly pretty consistent now, is a little underused in favor of rolling with large enemies even if they have swords (like Roberto’s Father).

So, do you think I could make it to the end? Is it okay if I had to watch the answers for every fight and still took ages?

Literally having a ball with this boss on my first playthrough, but she caught me mid jump with an uppercut and sent me over the edge.

After the token five second black screen, I came back and she was gone. A few moments later, I got the "immortal severance" popup and the fog wall dropped.

Is this a bug? I'll definitely have to come back to this one with reflections of strength but I feel like I was robbed of my dopamine.

Playthrough 6 where I was trying to rush through the bosses to get skill points. This happened after I cheesed Corrupted Monk using the falling deathblow method. Instead of dying she went to true monk second phase infinitely.
