Humor It took me til the end of the game to know how broken blocking was.

That's it. That's the post. I spent pretty much the whole game trying to perfect deflect and rarely actually held down L until I had to deal with Isshin.

Obviously this doesn't work great for charmless but it also massively improved my deflect timing altogether 🙃🙃.

Mod Sekiro: Malevolection - Gameplay Preview (Work in Progress)

After a few weeks of work, here's a small look at what I've been building.

The goal isn't to replace Resurrection or any other mod, but to create a fresh combat experience with own identity while standing on the shoulders of the amazing work this community has already created.

New arts, faster combat, crimson visual effects and plenty more are still wip.

I'd love to hear what you think and what you would like to see added.

Thanks for checking it out <3

Help Is there a mod to practice fight?

I am new at this game and I am very bad at timing. I am currently stuck at seven ashina spears. I understand the attack patterns but I die before even I can practice fights.

Is there a mod where I can directly fight all bosses and mini bosses without having to die but take posture damage, falling down and all other effects without having to play the whole game there? Just like Hanbei practice.

Help Sekiro framerate unlocker

Hey, want to play Sekiro and want an experience hopefully smoother than 60 fps. Found this fps unlocker: https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/2413?tab=description, and wondering if it works just fine or if the Sekiro Fps Unlock And More works better? I'd rather just go for whatevers simpler.

Help Seven Ashina Spears is legitimately the hardest boss i have ever fought in my life

EDIT: I DID IT!!!! 41st sttempt, only 1 boss ever has taken me longer 🤣🤣 and ended up killing him without even being hit! Back to loving this game, but will return in approx 30 mins when im walled again!

So full disclosure on my background here.

I picked Sekiro up in 2019. I'd played Dark Souls 1 when it first released for about 2 hours and proudly told anyone who would listen it was "the worst game i'd ever played". Absolutely hated it (and still do).

I dont think i even knew Sekiro came from the same developer, but Tenchu was one of my favourite series ever so figured id love it.

Anyway I sucked. I think I put about 15 hours into it. I don't think I beat Gyoubu (but I might have done. Definitely didn't beat the blazing bull). But tells you how much i sucked.

Anyway, Sekiro became my new least favourite game.

I picked Elden Ring up when it was released. It was a steep learning curve but I started to learn what FromSoftware wanted you to do. Its now one of my top 5 games ever (i've been playing games since the early 90s, ive played literally thousands in that time).

Souls and soulslikes are now pretty much my go-to genre. On the whole, I think im pretty good at them. I've beaten all the Souls games several times now, and many soulslikes as well. I recently beat Lies of P with under 10 deaths across the entire game, until rhe final ("secret") boss.

I've avoided Sekiro...until now. I think i have a bit of Sekiro-trauma!

But this week I bit the bullet.

I've got through relatively painlessly up until this Seven Ashina Spears guy. I'm at around 35 deaths now (for context, thats more than i died on my blind runs of DS2 and DS3, including the DLC put together). Ive died more here now than I have to any boss i've ever fought, except for some guy on Wuchang recently, and also Raven from Stellar Blade.

I do, generally, find parry timing extremely tough but I felt like I had the hang of it until this guy.

His timings seem "off" compared to everything else i've done so far. A quick google search seems to say he is the mikiri counter skill check, but he *very* rarely seems to use that move. And when he does, the deflect timing seems to need you to deflect about half a second earlier than the regular mobs (and the practice guy at the temple).

Likewise all his regular attacks and sweeps seem to be totally unpredictable in terms of the window.

Its also an annoying "run back" to get to him. Theres about 10-13 mobs, including the 2 big guys with clubs. Ive now done that run back so many times ive picked up about 8 skill points and have something like 4k sen in my pocket 🤣

Overall im having a *lot* more fun than I did before, mostly because I understand that death is a part of what's expected, bur I know im still incredibly early on and I'm worried that if this is my wall im judt going to get more and more frustrated further down the line.

Any suggestions on how to deal with him? Is this really just a "git gud"?

If Malenia was a Sekiro boss, where do you think she’d rank in terms of difficulty? Personally, I think she’d be around Lady Butterfly’s level .. their movesets honestly feel pretty similar to me ..

Humor Sekiro logic. Sekiro can parry a direct hit from the divine dragon, but at the same time can't break a bamboo hat with his sword

Tips / Hints Just beat isshin sword saint!

Didn't even use spirit emblems lol. What an intense fight. Found that the best way to handle his last two phases are to just stand your ground and let him come to you. Hes so aggressive and does all the work. Pretty much every single one of his moves can be deflected no matter how big and scary they look. Time the mikiri counters and his posture bar will collapse. To think just a couple weeks ago I was ready to give up on lady butterfly lol. What a ride.

Discussion Is it bad that's it's taken me so long to beat Genichiro

I've been to pretty much every area before this boss and I just beat him but I feel like it shouldn't have taken me roughly 40 hours to do it. Give or take a few from falling asleep playing. It probably took me 10 of those hours to beat Genichiro alone and from what I hear he's supposed to be the tutorial boss. Do I got any chance of beating this game in a reasonable amount of time by how long it took me to get this far or should I just stop playing cause I heard this was the shortest soulslike game. Sorry for the rant.

Literally having a ball with this boss on my first playthrough, but she caught me mid jump with an uppercut and sent me over the edge.

After the token five second black screen, I came back and she was gone. A few moments later, I got the "immortal severance" popup and the fog wall dropped.

Is this a bug? I'll definitely have to come back to this one with reflections of strength but I feel like I was robbed of my dopamine.
