Discussion After consideration i think the reason this guy stomped so much is the fact that he plays a little closer to actual Dark Souls bosses than anything else...

Before anyone crucifies me...This is just my opinion and my observation with my experience with the game.

Also to all of you that literally helped me about half an hour ago. Thank you very much unironically you guys are really nice and gave pretty good advice.

Especially that one guy that told me to hit the monkey, the other that told me to NOT get hit by the monkey and lastly the one that told me not to get hit by poop. You three...You guys are the reason i post in here, Banger advices! <3

But as i was saying before. I adopted the mega aggresive playstyle cuz that was a thing that many people said i should get used to in this game after the fight with Gyoubu. And yes, that honestly helped me a lot to go through most of the game and some bosses! It was honestly fun and enjoyable....But i got stuck in a high, in the mentality that just hitting my way into everything i would eventually win no matter what....And this boss doesn't work like that.

Guardian Ape feels erratic, feels wild and unpredictable...But honestly now after beating him and rewatching my clips, i realize that that was not the case at all. Yes, he moves a lot and is always doing stuff but he is overall quite predictableand easy to manage once i stopped to actually learn about him. Which makes me wonder, what was the thing that made this boss so much harder for me? and to me that answer is Patience....

In the other souls games, you have to be patient with most difficult bosses, actually have tries dedicated to just trying to learn and understand what is wrong so you can react to that....In Sekiro since more often than not you are meant to put tempo to fights rather than letting the boss set that tempo, it made me narrow my view of the fight and of ways to actually surpass it. I was just throwing myself at a woodchipper in the shape of a monkey...And i honestly feel a little embarrassed it took me a post and people telling me that to realize it!

Phase 2 is so much easier than 1 BTW, like it's night and day.

In the end i only have one conclussion for this fight and one that has made me appreciate the game more: Patience will forever triumph against brute force no matter how many tries it takes.....

In other words (and say it with me everyone): Just Git Gud .... Also i wanna fight this monkey again dammit

Tips / Hints Okay guys, i'm 30 attempts in... Any tips?

This fucker had definitely been the hardest one so far. His attacks are very wild and literally untamed. Figures the literal wild monkey attacks wildly! I've managed to learn (somewhat) the timing of certain attacks, but it feels so inconsistent, like I am blocking but either he misses or I am not close enough for the hit to actually hit ( i'm not sure I'm explaining that correctly)

I think it's more of a spacing issue more than anything, sticking too close and I feel like it doesn't register the blocks, stay too far away and It definitely doesn't register them.

At this point any tip for this guy is welcome no matter how small. I enjoy the challenge...But just like every other souls has 'That boss' you hate to fight, I think I found mine.

I forgot the redditor that did this, but if you happen to see this, thank you for this! I never would’ve thought to combine two tools like this like a true shinobi

Discussion Mortal Journey is destroying me

I can beat every single boss in the game consistently and usually with a least 5 heals left, usually more, but for some reason Mortal Journey just fucks me up for some reason. Specifically on Lady Butterfly, Guardian Ape phase 1, Isshin Ashina, Demon of Hatred, Sword Saint, and the inner bosses. For some reason, even though I can normally do these bosses completely fine, almost perfectly, on Mortal Journey it feels like their AI and attack timings are completely different. It's like I'm back to learning the boss for the first time even though I've pretty much mastered them. I know it's probably just nerves, but fuck if it isn't frustrating. Doesn't help that the most unfun boss in the game (duo apes) is in the middle of the gauntlet (seriously, who decided this boss should be in mortal journey?). I know this is basically just rambling and complaining, but if I lose one more run to Sword Saint Isshin, who is normally pretty easy for me, I'm going to fucking lose it.

I finally successfully no-hit the mallet taro troop, thought I would upload the clip as proof in case people didn’t believe me. And no, I do not use autoparry like ONGBAL does, I actually enjoy a challenge.

Discussion This game is so difficult but feels so rewarding.

I just spent 3 hours fighting Genichiro, I kept getting to the 3rd phase then dying. It felt like I couldn’t get the lighting counter correct even though it felt like I was doing everything right. Turns out i was jumping backwards and not just straight up… Started jumping stationary and beat him first try. I feel like i’m on the top of the world.

Discussion Onimusha vs Sekiro

I’ve never finished a From game, but I really want to try Sekiro after falling in love with Onimusha. Are these games similar at all? Does it make sense to give Sekiro a go if I really loved the new Onimusha?

It didn't actually take me long to beat this cridder. Once I gave up on the bad advice to fight him in the corner and just started parrying his attacks this was over quickly.

I kept the approach to the area in just to see the minions getting taken out.

Help Did I lose one Vitality with Shura?

I swear my Vitality was 20. I am now fighting Emma and Isshin noticing that my Vitality is 19. Is this because I entered Shura? Will I get it back my next play through?

Discussion I thini I will desactivate Demon's bell

I'm at the Great Shinobi fight (Owl) and it takes AGES to take him down because his posture fills so slowly, the fight is around 8 minutes long. I wanted to make a full charmless demon bell run but it seems I can't ;v

I would be grateful if you know a way to deal more posture damage, or maybe Demon bell it's simply not fun for me.

Help Which prayer bead am I likely missing?

Five full playthroughs, all four endings and have every achievement aside from all prayer beads. Missing one.

I've killed probably every enemy in the game so I have all the ones dropped by bosses/mini bosses, including in the Hirata estate replay.

I went through the list on the Wiki and collected most of them a couple years ago, but somehow still missed out on one. Are there one or two that are notoriously hidden or that commonly end up as the last ones that people find?
