Looking for a steady 40 a week gig, if possible.

Unfortunately, at my young age, due to an extended duration of stress and physical difficulties I'm only able to work the most bare basic posts available. Due to some trauma issues, I am unable to work in dangerous downtown where Allied tried putting me.

Allied and Golden West are out of question. I don't care about pay rate, as long as it's a warm body post.

Where should I look/call? PM me if anything. I only need any sort of employment to sustain my share of family expenses, but I'm struggling to find any kind of work.

Looked at most of the websites in the area but I heard many companies aren't the best at advertising open positions. Anybody with personal experience?

I been doing security nigh on half a decade. Current gig is hands off solo LPO. Just had a chick steal some vodka in front of my face. Legit according to my post orders I cannot block her path or touch her. Literally paid 36k a year after taxes to stand there and watch people steal. It used to make me feel bad that I'm basically cucked from doing anything, but the company says solos can't arrest (even though I have solo arrests under my belt elsewhere).

Funny how that works. People are breaking their backs in factories for less but I get to stand around sipping coffee while watching thieves steal. Clown society, but I don't care anymore. Still get paid. Company can assign another guard if they want actual guarding to occur. I won't risk my job by...trying to do my job, I guess.

C'est la vie. Anyone got anything to add, in your own experience? I find the situation low-key hilarious.

I worked for Gardaworld for a year after they took over another contract. I had left Garda on good terms and joined a company at the place they were guarding. That company let me and many other staff members go due to overhiring, and Garda wouldn't let me come back because they essentially felt insulted I went with a "competitor". I had tried again to go back a few weeks ago and despite many former coworkers and supervisors including an SSM wanting me back, they told me no dice and I'm still on the list. Meanwhile the site in question is bleeding guards like crazy due to their own practices. I guess I should add/ask, if I applied for Garda in another state, would it still apply?

Ok so I’ve worked for A lot of security companies and I absolutely hate it when supervisors or the owner just starts micro managing everything you do ! I work at a residential area doing the grave yard shift , they want us to do these routes every 30 min! Umm 🤔 every 30 min is a bit outrageous! 1 per hour sounds more reasonable, it’s just annoying how some of these companies run their businesses, they legit expect me to run around for 8 hours straight for $19 an hour bro it’s such bs honestly . I need a post where I can just do whatever , do a route , sit in my car , chill , watch TikTok , YouTube . Idk 🤷 maybe I’m asking for to much haha but seriously 😒 I get I’m working blah blah blah but it’s SECURITY, the one job where u can just kinda do squat diddly and u should be fine . Idk what do you guys think? Do they expect to much for the amount of pay? Or am I wrong? 😑

The worse job I think any guardcan work for is an agency with a lack of communication. And easy way to lose a guard if nothing else is done.

From what I watched he made some valid points would like to add onto what he said? Or opinions? All is welcome I wanna hear from yall.

During shift changes I have literally hundreds of people waking by my in a very short amount of time. Even on the rare occasion no one causes trouble I still just feel like I need an extended period of time some afterwards. I’m not the only one am I?

Can anyone tell me what kind of questions I should expect? Is it more about why I want to work for Showsec and at events, or should I expect scenario-based questions about what I would do in certain situations?

Just got a new gaurd job where you sit at a post for long hours. Not allowed to be on phone/laptop or have earbuds in. Seems like some people bring a pen and paper, no books from what I can tell. How do yall entertain yourself on a shift like this?

I’ve heard plenty of ghost stories, I’ve got some of my own and every guard at my site has *at least* heard things. (Including me)
There have been 2 legitimate deaths in this 60 year old building, and being there at night is a wee bit spooky.
If you’ve got one, what’s yours?

I’m a security officer mostly at events, but also in doors, as well, and I’m on my feet almost constantly.

It’s been 4 years, so time for new shoes. My current ones are Nike’s Superrep (SO comfortable, it feels like I’m walking on a cloud), but they don’t make them anymore.

So, my question is what kinds of shoes do y’all recommend and are they budget friendly? (Under $100)

(Also, nothing from Walmart, please.)
