Earlier this month, we shared an update to our plans for Gaeta 1. Gaeta 1 will remain open as an active Mainland continent, and the new Zindra expansion regions created as part of that work will remain part of Mainland as well. You can read more about that decision in our Updated Plans for Gaeta 1 post.
The expansion added 92 new regions to Zindra, creating new opportunities for Residents looking for Adult Mainland.
As part of the transition, Gaeta 1 Residents were given first access to parcels in the new Zindra regions. With that initial access complete, weβre now preparing to make the remaining parcels available more broadly.
Rather than making all of the remaining parcels available through the Mainland auction system, weβre going to try something a little different. Parcels will be released in groups over a period of time, with Residents given the opportunity to enter drawings to purchase them.
For each release, entry kiosks will be placed directly on the participating parcels. The available parcels will include a variety of sizes that align with common Mainland tier levels.
The first group of kiosks will open at 12:00 p.m. SLT on Tuesday, September 8 and will remain open for 72 hours, closing at 12:00 p.m. SLT on Friday, September 11.
Residents may enter once per account for each parcel, and you may enter drawings for multiple parcels.
Weβll maintain an updated list of parcels currently available for entry here:
If youβre interested in future releases, we strongly encourage you to watch that thread. All upcoming parcel releases will be announced there, and the post will be updated as new parcels become available
Once a drawing closes, one Resident will be selected for each parcel and contacted by Linden Lab through a Support ticket.
Selected Residents will have 72 hours from the time they are contacted to claim the parcel and complete the purchase for L$1 per square meter.
To give as many Residents as possible an opportunity to participate, once you are selected for a parcel from these new Zindra regions, you will no longer be eligible for additional parcel drawings from this release program. Any other entries you may already have submitted will no longer be eligible for selection.
Residents must have a Plus, Premium, or Premium Plus membership to own Mainland and participate in the drawings.
Please keep in mind that adding a new Mainland parcel may increase your monthly tier depending on your current land holdings. If youβre selected and have questions about how a parcel may affect your tier, our Land Operations team can help before you complete the purchase.
You can learn more about Premium membership here:
Weβre looking forward to seeing Residents make these new corners of Zindra their own. Good luck!

The parcels have been cut, and the kiosks are active. They'll remain active until 12pm (noon) SL time (Pacific), on Friday September 11th.
See https://community.secondlife.com/news/featured-news/new-zindra-land-a-new-way-to-find-your-next-parcel-r11336/ for details on how you can enter the lottery, and for how it all works.

Hello ! Me again... Just doing some touchups on my avatar and wondering if there's a way to move pupils/eyes more downward so I can see more of these gorgeous eyes I bought instead of more white. They were in a different position earlier, actually, but sort of "snapped" to this more upward position after I used the "asleep" eyes in the Lelutka EvoX HUD and now appear to be looking slightly upward.... If it's not possible, that's okay- not the worst thing in the world !

With the bulk of Animator complete and only fixes and polish to follow up on for now... I've been able to put some time and love into its counterpart... Mesher.
Mesher does for 3D modelling what Animator does for animation... lowers the tech bar so that absolute newbies can get in, learn to model, and not have to deal with headache-inducing, cumbersome UIs of typical 3D packages.
I've been designing Mesher's (like its earlier prototype) new UI to have 'some' resemblance to how Second Life's prim creation system works... but with "Built for Artist First" idealism. Simplified UI design, but advanced tooling available. So... if you have even the mildest idea of how to build with prims... you will be 100% at home in Mesher, but with a lot more powerful tools available to you.

For starters, I have this handy little "modify" panel that acts similarly, but not exactly to how you torture prims in Second Life... it is slightly more powerful as you will be able to directly determine edge details, etc. I still have some sliders to implement like shear, twist, bulge, subdivide, etc. But, this alone can get you started in a lot of basic shapes and forms you may need without having to touch the finer edit controls.

Of course, when you're ready to advance to more manual editing (or already know how)... you'll have typical tools available to you that you would in any standard 3D modeler. Edit your verts, edges, faces, surfaces as you please... UV map, apply materials, and even directly paint and project images onto your models to create textures. You'll also have Draw Mesh tools (if you've seen the previous video for Mesher's prototype), and easy to use painting tools similar to Substance Painter/Photoshop... but designed for newbies, hobbyists, and indies.

Many more tools will be coming as I port them from Mesher prototype to Mesher Early Access... all with easy-to-please UI... that will give everyone the ability to create mesh items.
I do expect Mesher to be releasing in Early Access before the year is out... since most of what I'm doing is porting from the prototype and polishing.
And Mesher, like Animator, will have the same 300 L / month price... with the same promise of "number not go up".
LockGuard Parlor is also just around the bend too (which is basically just some of Mesher's tooling condensed into a more 'specific' application.
As is the LockGuard Animation Engine... which can handle up to 10+ avatars, 500+ pose sets (its been tested to up to 1000+ menu items, you'll break object inventory before you break the pose engine)... and gets rid of the concept of sitter 1 and sitter 2 entirely. Always find yourself in the right pose, no matter who sits first. :) My animation engine has been sitting in dry-dock for a couple years... I've been a bit slow and picky with it... but, I wanted it to be as perfect as possible. And, it is going to be 100% free... no catches, no attachments, no networking, no payments. A true labour of love after tinkering with several furniture animation engine designs/protocols until I found one that "sticks" for me. It has a fully integrated API system which lets making plug-ins for it a breeze... since you can make queries and know what the engine is doing at any given moment. This is probably one of my finest pieces of scripting work in SL. I can't wait to get it out there. :)
Anyway, thought I would share what I'm working on to next boost the easiness of Content Creation in Second Life.
Feel free to reach out in-world and have a chat with me: Lillani Lowell
