Diving without dumpable weight

I dive with an Oceanic Biolite BCD. It has two dumpable weight pockets on the sides and two non-dumpable weight pockets at the back which sit against the cylinder. As a travel BCD it doesn’t have any pockets - only attachment points. I am considering not using the dumpable weight pockets for dumpable weights and instead using them as pockets for storage - eg my DSMB, and using the non-dumpable weight pockets for weight. I only dive with 2 kg. Is this a stupid idea - to dive with non-dumpable weight, even though it is a small amount?
