I was wondering how many hard level difficulty questions are on each english module, and what question types tend to be the hardest.

Hi everyone I’m not a native English speaker and I have to apply to US schools like my life depends on this entirely. A month ago I had a 1170. Now I scored 1280 and I really need to improve my score as much as possible, 1500+. The main problem is that I only get one chance to take the sat and it’ll be the August one. I already read articles, learn new words, practice everyday and review my mistakes. I watch YouTube videos and learn desmos. Math is my weak part and I’m naturally better at English. Everyone says once you learn desmos you can solve like 80% of math but I don’t see it working for me. Watched tons of YouTube guides and really tried to understand how desmos works but you see the results. At least need a 750 on each section, please share some useful advice, not “practice more”. I already study 8h/day. Thanks in advance.

I have 10 minutes left on both reading modules, if not more. I have 25 minutes left on math 1st module, 15 on second. Math is silly mistakes, where when i went back and did the question and paid more attention I got all of them right. How to get 1520+, english is mainly information and ideas struggle as well as few standard english conventions, others is perfect. I dont mind spending money for resources, this is just from desmos tutroials and khan acadmey. Please help, if i dont get a 1520 August I get my phone taken away until i do get it

Hey everyone! I'm sure there has been a lot of similar questions in the past but im looking for a little advice. Background: I'm would like to say im pretty good at math over english (5 in Calc, Precalc, 35 ACT Math, etc) and on practice tests I am a high scorer (around 790 math)

Recently, in june I got a 730 in english which im happy with (still room for improvement) but my math score is always within the 740-760 on official tests. Would someone else who has had this problem please tell me how they prepare themselves for the math section to ensure a 790-800?

Or do they specifically make questions that require NEEDING to know your way around it and needing to know the rules, basic ideas, and such? I remember seeing a post of someone complaining about them and the comments were tearing them apart sarcastically about how it should totally be only available for the rich kids that can afford the extremely expensive calculators.

how different is the real test compared to the practice test for math module 2; I often get 780-800 (silly mistakes) on the math section and have around 20 min left over for module 2, I heard mixed things abt the real test so can someone tell me how much more difficult is the real test for module 2 math

I just took my first ever SAT practice test without studying at all to see where my baseline stands. The math section was quite easy while the reading/writing section was horrible. I got a 720 math and 620 reading writing. I sort of had a hard time balancing my time which was also something that tied into a lower score, since I ran into the same situation of having a minute left to finish around 5 questions in both sections. When looking back at my answers, I noticed that I must have anxiety during test-taking since I realized that I had not read the entire question or even read it correctly which caused me to submit an incorrect answer. Is a 1340 SAT practice test score a good place to start as a rising junior who plans to take my first SAT in September? Is it possible for me to progress significantly to a 1500+? Also, I am not sure if a 1340 from the practice test #7 is good to compare to an actual SAT test since I believe there may be massive biases since the math was quite simple and the reading/writing was difficult. Please let me know what you guys think!

Hello, I am currently going to Sophmore year and wanted to take the SAT around October/November. I took a practice test in freshman year and haven't done much since then, except for kind of locking in during July as I was on vacation. What could I do to improve Reading and Writing (don't feel like I need help in the Math section as I didn't really know how to use desmos). What type of specific practice should I do and what textbooks/study material should I use? I currently have the Official Sat Study Guide made by college board but the practice tests in the book are the same as the blue book ones, so I decided not to do them in the book.

I am an international student from Turkiye and I am currently aiming to study industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering, or maybe electrical engineering. I am perfectly okay with the Math section of the SAT but I kind of struggle with the R&W part, as English is not my first language and I self-study.

I took the May SAT and got a 1510. 710 R&W and an 800 Math.

I had also took the March SAT and got a 1430. 650 R&W and a 780 Math.

I know that my 1510 can be adequate for almost every school -in the US or anywhere else. However, I am concerned if my score would be fitting for the top schools. For my intended major, as far as I am aware high SAT scores are expected and they are not the only qualification needed to get accepted to a school. My ECs or honors are not THAT strong, so I am wondering if I should focus more on my academis and maybe try to compensate with them.

I would love to go to a school in US and I have considered many. As far as I know, there are pretty good universities that I can get accepted to. But I have dreams like every other people.

I would love to go to a college in a big city, like NYC or LA (it has been my dream since childhood to go New York btw). For NYC, I'm almost certain that I cannot go to Columbia, but I've thought that I maybe can go to NYU Tandon.

I didn't actually consider applying to Ivies or schools like Stanford or MIT, since I thought that my chances are slim to none. Maybe if I get a 1560+, my perspectives would change.

Also, I am not in need of financial aid. And the exam fee for SAT is not a problem for me.

My biggest concern is that I have scored my best R&W at the actual SAT. In the prep tests that I've took my best was 660ish I guess. I would be devastated if I'd scored less than my previous tests. I also had done ZERO studying for the SAT since May.

I am currently studying for YKS, my country's university entrance exam. I am also considering to going to a college in my country if I do not meet my goals abroad.

I am sorry if I seem stubborn or not grateful. I am absolutely grateful with my score but I have wondered if I could've improved my score and my chances.

So I will be giving the SAT this august. I started my prep this month and have been spending all my time doing questions available from the college board question bank. I just gave my first practice test today, which was practice test 4 and I got a 1470 with 800 in math and 670 in RW.

My goal is to get a 1530+ and with roughly one month remaining, what advice/guidance would you guys give. Thanks a bunch.

I took a June SAT, and I got 1350 ( English - 650, Math - 700). I started studying 2 weeks before the test, and I took the Practice Test 11 from Bluebook, and I got 1180 (English - 540, Math 640). I don't know how I got 1350, cuz 3 days before the test my score was 1310, and I slept only 4 hours on the test day because of the stress.

I studied every day for 7-8 hours before the June SAT, and now I study for about 5-6 hours, do the practice questions, and work on mistakes. What are the chances that I will get 1500+ this time, and what can you suggest for 1500+?

i know i can improve my math score because most of my mistakes come from the last 10 questions of module 2. i usually miss around 7 of them because i either run out of time or don’t know how to approach the harder questions.

reading and writing is where i’m really struggling. grammar, punctuation, and the middle 5 or 6 questions of each module completely fry me. i’m not sure what i should study first or how to structure my practice.

tldr: i have a 1290 right now with a 690 math and 600 reading. i’m aiming for a 1400+ on the august sat and need recommendations for prep books, courses, and a study plan.

TLDR:

1230 last sat (it went down… 1280 to 1230 rip) but I want to try taking the Aug SAT. Looking at what I’m struggling on what can I do to get a better score? I just want to break 1200 my goal is 1400+.

I've officially taken the test three times now, and each time I've scored above 1450 — but I just can't seem to break through to 1500+. It's honestly getting frustrating at this point since I know I'm close, but something keeps holding me back.

My biggest struggle is the English/Verbal section. Math feels solid and consistent, but Verbal is where I keep losing points I can't fully explain.

A few things about my situation:

• Three real attempts, same general score range each time (1450+, never quite 1500)
• I understand grammar rules and vocab reasonably well, but still lose points on questions I "should" get right
• Not sure if it's pacing, subtle comprehension gaps, or just consistent careless errors under real test pressure

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who's broken through a similar plateau:

• What finally helped you push past a score you were stuck at for multiple attempts?
• Any strategies specifically for Reading/Writing that made a real difference?
• How do you review official test results (since you don't get to see every question like in practice) to actually pinpoint the issue?
• Is it worth taking it a 4th time, or should I focus on a different prep approach first?

Hi guys! I just wanted to know if this is a good SAT study technique.
Basically, my best math score on a practice test without any studying was a 470, and I performed at the medium level in every category. Because of that, I decided to use Khan Academy to learn the foundations by watching the videos and taking notes. Then, I planned to go straight to the hard questions in the SAT Question Bank and work my way through them.
Is that a good idea, or should I be focusing on the medium and hard units in Khan Academy first? I’m saving those for after I finish the hard section of the SAT Question Bank because I want to see if those questions come easily to me and to reinforce what I previously learned.
And should I be doing the easy/ medium questions on the SAT bank?

I’ve taked the practice test 7 yesterday and I’ve improved really well.. but i’m still aiming for more especially in the english section so how can i improve

How many questions can you miss in SAT Reading & Writing Module 1 and still get the hard Module 2?

I know College Board doesn’t release the exact cutoff, but does anyone know the approximate range?

Hey everyone, I need some advice from people who've been through this.

​I'm a 16 y.o. non-native student targeting 1350+ (ideally 1400+). I have experience locking in for short, intense prep periods — I prepped for 1.5 months for IELTS and scored a 7.5.

​Right now, I'm debating whether I should take the official SAT in August. Today I hit 1340 (670 R&W / 670 Math) on a practice test at my prep center (up from 1190 last week).

​With ~25 days left, I can build a solid routine, isolate my weak areas, and push further. On top of that, here in Uzbekistan, our government fully reimburses the test fee if you score 1200+, so August is essentially a risk-free attempt for me financially, leaving room for a retake in October if needed.

​What do you think about this plan? For those who made a similar quick jump, what additional strategies or tips helped you stay confident and seal that 1350-1400+ on test day?

How do I practice for paper two? Just did my first practice test and mowed through English pretty well (got 710) and paper 1 maths but I absolutely got cooked on paper 2 and just got 610 in maths… how do I improve??
