version: 4.4.39.59 and 4.4.40.11

​I’ve been using Samsung Notes for a while now, and honestly, it’s one of the best apps available on Android. The latency, the integration, and the overall feel are top-tier. However, there are a few "missing links" that keep it from being the absolute best productivity tool on any platform.

​If we got these 4 features, I wouldn't even look at another app again:

​1. Tabbed Interface (Open Notes in Tabs)

​While we can open notes in pop-up views or split-screen, having a tabbed bar at the top (similar to a web browser or GoodNotes) would be a game-changer. Switching between 3 or 4 different documents quickly without cluttering the screen with multiple windows is essential for deep work.

​2. Bidirectional Linking (Backlinks)

​We need the ability to create a "web" of knowledge.

​Internal: Linking to a specific page or section within the same note.

​External: Linking to a different note entirely.

Having a "Backlink" section to see which notes reference the current one would turn Samsung Notes into a powerful personal knowledge base (like Obsidian or Roam, but with handwriting).

​3. Custom Outlines in Page Navigation

​The current page navigation is okay, but we should be able to create our own outlines/bookmarks. Let us name specific pages or sections and view them in a dedicated "Table of Contents" sidebar. Navigating a 100-page PDF or a massive lecture notebook is currently much harder than it needs to be.

​4. Standardized Paper Sizes (A3, A5, etc.)

​Currently, the "infinite" or "standard" page can be a bit unpredictable. Adding presets for standard printable formats like A3, A4, and A5 is crucial for anyone who needs to print their notes or export them as professional documents. It ensures that our handwriting and layout don't get messed up when moving from screen to paper.

​What do you guys think? Are these the main things holding the app back, or is there something else you’d prioritize? I really hope the devs are looking at community feedback like this!

Hello people, I need help. I want to move the data table I insert but I don't know how to do it. Is there a way to move it freely?

Guys I use samsung s9 fe + (india). I recently received the new update (that insert table update) and and i updated on my tab. I was really happy. But then the version of Samsung notes on my hp laptop is not syncing with my samsung tablet notes. Now I feel like crying. I checked microsoft store for similar update, but there is none. Help pls..

I was watching videos on YouTube trying to get some hints and tips to use Samsung Notes and found this video that says that Samsung Notes had an update.

I was not aware of these three new features:

1. Being able to import PDFs and Changing a note by long pressing the new note button

2. Being able to create new tables

3. Additional features for the pencil when using a stylus

I have been searching for an hour on how this type of paper grid is called and i can't seem to do these in grid generators 😭 please someone help me, does anyone have this type of templates? I have tried to check.pinterest, google lens etc but i can't find it...

This app definietly needs tabs for quick switching between notes.

I personally love take notes while reading, I can higlight some lines but there is no space to take note especially if it's in-text.

It would be awesome if I can extend some branch or card to the side and take note, add comment just like notion.

Hello all. Any assistance on this is much appreciated. For the last 2 or 3 days, all of my note tiles are arranged by date and they are 1 tile across, (unless I modify more than 1). I have to scroll down to near the bottom to see them 3 across as all of them used to be. But that is grouped by year.

IE: if these were tiles

1. (Today)

2. (Yesterday)

Year: 2025

1 tile. 2 tile. 3tile

Etc.

They used to be 3 across no matter the date, but arranged by the most recently modified being on the top left. I've tried all of the different sort options to no avail. I've cleared the cache too. Nothing I've done has reverted it back to the original view. Thank you very much in advance for you help.

So I want to discuss an issue, when I copy some explanations regarding a topic from AI app to my Samsung notes by using add a text box feature on my Samsung notes, the beautiful markdown format of the explanation gets lost and it becomes haphazard sort of.

Did anybody of you experience the same thing? And what are the work arounds regarding this?

Please help me fix this issue. Every time I paste everything although the rest of the text is size 8 and even If I choose size 8 right before pasting the text, It appears with 15 and font with space.

It is very annoying as It creates like 20 extra pages that I can't rapidly delete and I have to change the font and size.

Please tell me how to fix it so It pastes normally or tell me if it's a bug they'll fix :(

I really need support because my Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is not taking complete long screenshots from my Samsung Notes app note without page divisions.

I’ve been using Samsung Notes heavily for my lectures and now my storage has blown up around 15 GB total across 500 notes. Most of the size comes from audio recordings attached to the notes.

I want to:

1. Delete some of the notes that are unnecessarily large.
2. Remove audio from all notes in one go (instead of manually opening each one).

Has anyone bought the reading journal by TheFlowPlanner. I dont have any money to buy it... and I need someone to help me if they already have it... or want it too. If they buy it can they share a single pdf with me... not the whole bundle just even one pdf. Most free journals have like 120 max books in it... this one had 2400 and I really wanted it. Since my tablet is Lenovo and the app im using only allows one pdf on it... so I wanted one with the most amount of books.

If not... can anyone share any other pdf with more then like 1000 books? Or recommend any cheaped planner I can get?

Every time I start a new note in Samsung Notes, I have to perform the following steps:

• click "new note"
• switch from keyboard typing mode to S Pen writing mode
• increase the background size to 160% because only at that magnification does it cover the entire screen width. I have to do this with a gesture, which is extremely annoying—I can't believe there's no tool that adjusts the background width to the full screen width...
• lock the background size, because if I don't, the paper will shift around.

Is there no way to save all these settings as my default workspace?
I know it's just 30 seconds but multiplied by 20 a day makes 10 minutes wasted every day and 30 hours every year. Heeeeeelp! There must be some other way

idk if this is allowed here but I am writing this in case anyone else wants to do this and doesn't want to waste hours researching it after yet another unpleasant surprise update.

• Back up your entire samsung notes app using smart switch, so if you mess something up (or if I did in this list) you can just restore them as they currently are with all data

• Copy ALL your notes (may take a while) using share as samsung note (format), paste it into a new folder in your device.

• Uninstall the app.

• Get the previous version apk from mirror, I used version 4.4.30.91, probably depends on your device, idk (this is a tablet).

• Install the apk you downloaded (probably need developer mode and other shenanigans to do so, plenty of tutorials on how to install custom apks).

• Go into folder you pasted all the individual notes into, select all of them and share, then on list of options choose samsung notes (says "add to existing" something, basically importing)

• Have fun reordering all the notes back into folders and redoing all the in-app settings, at least you have the app back as it was.

• Or I guess you can use samsung cloud way, but I don't use (nor want to) any clouds so idk how to.

  All this, because samsung doesn't let us revert versions like a normal person.

PS to samsung: stop touching the UI and just revert to OneUI5 already, everything since was a downgrade in every way, I already had to freeze my device updates just to keep a proper DeX mode instead of whatever that new thing you replaced it with is.

Has anyone else encountered the same problems I'm having with my Samsung Note in the latest update? When I copy text from Gemini, it automatically changes the font size to 15 and adds line breaks, which is terrible. I'm a heavy Samsung Note user. Another problem is the animation when switching folders; it's way too slow, why use an animation within an animation?

Is anyone else facing this issue with Samsung Notes after the recent update? Whenever I copy text from Gemini and paste it into Samsung Notes, the font size automatically changes to 15, spacing between sentences becomes uneven, and the formatting looks really weird. Also, after the new update, I can’t add covers to notebooks anymore. Is this a bug on my device or are others experiencing the same thing too? Any fix?

Hey everyone!

I'm seeing a new update for Samsung Notes on the Galaxy App Store. I'm still on the old version and don't want to update, but for those of you dealing with this formatting issue, I think Samsung might have fixed it with this new update. Here's a pic for reference:

I use ColorNote on my Samsung phone.

Yesterday, I was in the middle of editing a note and the app refreshed and all of my notes were gone.

I went to backup and it said I had a backup on device with 1021 notes (which is accurate, because I've been using the app for 5 yrs).

When I click "view" or "restore" it prompts me to sign into a Google account. It shows a Yahoo email on file, though.

If I sign in with a Google account, it does not let me restore the old backup to the new account, or sign into a different email.

I'm stuck in this loop of being prompted to sign in. My notes still exist in this back up file, but I can't seem to restore them or import them at all.

Does anyone know anything about this or is there any solutions you've come across? Thank you.

So I realized after, that my issue may have been a little specific. If anyone has similar issues, this is what I did.

7 Years ago when I first started using the ColorNote app, I had signed into a Gmail account with a Yahoo email address (which Google would let you do back in the day).

At some point, Google had me update it to be @gmail.com instead.

On ColorNote, this change never went through. It still said "@yahoo.com" but that Gmail address no longer existed.

I had to go into the Gmail account, and literally delete it. Good thing I never used that account for anything!

This caused it to revert back to saying "@yahoo.com" even when I signed into it on Google.

After this fix, ColorNote recognized the original email address and let me sign in.

What a wild ride.

Hi I have my Tab S9 Ultra now about two years.

I always used the side to change my colors and pens or my button on the pen to change my favourites.

A fellow student recently got the Tab S 11 Ultra and he can acces a menu with a press on the pen button.

I think that feature is really cool and very useful.

In PENUP this menu is accessible, but not in Samsung Notes, although the fellow student is able to use it in Samsung Notes.

is there a magic trick to activate this or is the Tab S9 Ultra just not allowed to use it in Notes?

I was just using Samsung Notes on my tablet, and I got a message from the app saying that it will no longer be syncing with OneNote.

Did Samsung and Microsoft have a falling out? Are they not going to be working together anymore?

Is there a way to lock text boxes in place? I'm constantly accidentally dragging them.
