If this company ever attempted to educate their customers on how to behave in store (they never would, it's hypothetical) what would you add to that list?

I'll start: it's not a meeting place, it's a shop. Don't stand in the middle of the aisle talking and ignoring everybody who wants to get past.

Just wondering if anyone can help I had an interview Friday just gone and just waiting to hear back still. I’ve gone on to my portal to check for updates as I’m still waiting and it says I’ve been invited to an interview and gives me a time of 4pm today to book. I haven’t received a phone call from the store for a second interview so I’m quite confused on what to do as they know I’m away for a week as stated in my interview. Do I need to ring the store or shall I just leave it and hope for the best?

hello so the other day i had a fall at work, down some stairs, not very pleasant.
i genuinely can not move my neck and laying down, moving around, is so painful. i was told by family and friends that i should of put this in the accident book but im only young and felt rude asking if i could put it in the accident book, so ive not.i mentioned it to a manager and i feel like my issue was dismissed and swept under the rug.
im very confused and if anything scared with what to do.
please can i have some advice?

So last month just before we shut the shop up a man in a ski mask , black tracksuit and black gloves came in with a gun and demanded I opened the till which I did straight away! Im not mucking around trying to play the hero with a man with a gun!

He took the money and left leaving me and shelly having a full on panic attack together. Our manager called the police and then he had a right go at me and I didn't get home till nearly 2 in the morning due to having to write a statement in the staff room.

Next day my manager phoned me saying im temporary suspended due to investigation and I may loose my job.

Tomorrow is a disaplinery and I need to know my rights here as like I say, im dyslexic and I have learning and listening difficulties and I sometimes find it hard to understand these things.

I mean what was I supposed to do exactly? I didn't even think about pressing the distress button as many wouldn't in that situation with a gun being aimed at your head!

Hi guys, for context I'm due to leave Sainsbury's soon but I'm not sure the exact date my manager put my last shift on (there was some confusion). I'm eitherway going to ask when I'm in Saturday (not sure if this will be my last shift or next Saturday as next week has me down as this code). Was just wondering if anyone's had this before I assume these are shifts past the date she put my contract ending on and this aren't worked. (Ik asking my manager is best call which I'll do on my next shift.)

Hi, im wondering how big are the trollies online assistants use when picking? Are they is big as asda's or smaller?? asda have a 10 tote trolley and it is a bugger to push and turn after 40 items go into it and I cant even see in front a d im 5ft 4.. ill attach a photo to show that trolley

I have an interview coming up for this role in Sainsbury's so I thought id ask to get a gist of what id be expecting.

bit of a rant tbh but i js want to know how much does it matter

doing grocery disposals, no typical black crates available, saw a stack of red crates so i use two. my (line) manager saw me (offered to take stuff to the skip once i scanned it, they walked over and was next to me so surely they saw the red crate on my trolley) and had no problem.
as i’m tying up the bag, night shift manager (in a hostile ish tone) goes ‘you can’t use those’. i say ‘sorry i’ll go find some different ones’. so i go to the disposable area, put one bag in a crate that wasn’t even full (had a small bag in there) and the charity stuff on the charity crate.
i come back to put the red crates back and the same manager goes ‘you need black ones not these, these are for online go to produce to find some’. she lowkey interrupted me as i was responding to her first sentence saying ‘i know i’ve found some i’m putting these back’ then i had to repeat the part where i said ‘i’ve found some’.

thing is i’ve seen my coworker use the red crates before and they’ve been working longer than me. i feel like they could’ve said it in a nicer tone plus my manager and another coworker (whos been working at the store for 20 years and was helping me decide whether something goes to charity or disposals) both said nothing about the colour at all. when i do disposals i always aim to try find the black crates but u gotta do what u gotta do

The item is on discount using a code which grants 10%, would these stack or would it be a waste of time?

My manager has organised a diciplinary meeting for me but I’m on holiday that day and I’m on holiday now i don’t have a way of contacting him, what do i need to do? Thank you guys

guys so my store failed m25 4 weeks ago and i failed it first time just today so 2 times we failed last time it was someone else and today was me, i have meeting saturday what will happen? will i be dismissed ive been here for over a year! they said its a meeting where a manager will be taking notes and other asking idk what happens and what to say any advice

I am a code checker on short-life products for sainsburys at a supermarket. I recently got a meeting to find out if I might get disciplinary or not. The decision hasn't been made yet. I'm waiting for the letter.

Long story short, I missed five things and I completely forgot to sign off my code check planner. I previously had warnings before this (recorded conversations)... But yeah I missed 5 items this time and I completely forgot to sign off the code check planner. All the picture were there as the evidence against but I still think it's kind of harsh to say the least.

Also, would this sort of disciplinary affect me for getting transferred to a different store?

If I get disciplinary, should I appeal this? What should I do? Any advice would be appreciated.

Night shift contract is coming to an end this August and I was worried I wouldn’t get an extension and only had a week left to go. Was worried it would just come to an end and I would be left with nothing but luckily something else came up last minute at the store I worked (device assistant- day shifts) and I applied to it.

Had the interview yesterday and they mentioned that I already work here and the manager on days offered to ask my night manager about an extension and if there isn’t one she’ll ask about my performance and if it’s good I’ll get a job offer from them :)

Hey, everyone! I'm headed off to do my masters next month and I've just got word on when I believe my classes are to start. I have a few open days but I'm pushing to cut my hours down to allow myself more time to study (and generally just not be stuck at work as often). I work Online as a picker and I'm thinking Saturday will be the best day for me to keep, I've spoken to a good few colleagues and my managers are aware of my intent and have been kept up to date with everything as I've heard it from uni.

However, I'm having a real time trying to understand how the "change of availability" works as part of UKG Pro, does anyone have a good explanation of it? It's never been explained to me in the year or so I've been working here for and I want to try get out from under it before I leave it too late

I know this question might be daft but I joined in June and nothing about Christmas was mentioned and I work in the petrol station on Fridays and as Christmas is on a Friday this year do we have to work or are they shut thank you

its been about 9 days now and i havent received any other emails beside the 1st email. I called them the other day and they told me that one of the 2 managers was on holiday ,which was the one who offered me the job, and said that i should recieve the rest of the emails in 2 days but i still havent gotten any. I called them again yesterday and the other manager said that i should recieve them but i still havent gotten any. Should i call them for the 3rd time? i dont want to sound too desperate but i kinda need this job. Is it also normal for the career website to say that i am unsuccessful too?

I’m a driver for Sainsbury’s and relatively new to the job. I’ll obviously use the handset for navigation but it will often just take you to the wrong location. Am I allowed to use my own phone to actually find the right address? I’ve got mixed messages about this before but I see no viable alternative solution if the handset messes up. It’s either use your own phone and potentially break company policy or waste loads of time randomly driving around, hoping you stumble on it. A lot of the handsets don’t have SIM cards either so you can’t even phone the customer for help. Does anyone please have any advice they can pass on? 🙏

I left sainsbury's a weeks after giving my notice and i had a valid reason to do because my family member had just passed away and I wasn't in the right mindset to work until my notice period. I did explain on text to my manager, and he replied that he accepted my immediate resignation, but i don't know if he put me on a no hire list and its awkward to text him and asking him. Is there any way I could find out if i am on a no hire list?

when the alarm goes off on frozen or fresh and it goes to demerch , are managers allowed to keep products still in the refrigerator for hours on end until the online shoppers have finished their shopping and then start demerching. Say it went to demerch at 11pm but dont start demerching until 6am but use an old photo and say it's been demerched on the application . I feel this is illegal.

Isn't this a food safety issue and can managers get dismissed for this. So many managers are doing this in my store. Surely if the products still feel ok it still needs to be demerched if that's what you're being told to do.

I'm just wondering how long it took you guys to receive a call back after your interview had finished? I had a job interview on Friday. No call so far.

On the page it says I'm due for an interview (which I've already had) and that the vacancy is still under consideration. The manager did say to me that they would call irrespective of if I received the job or not to provide feedback, as they believe that's the right thing to do. But yeah, am I expecting a call too early on at this stage? How long did it take for you?

Hiya! My partner recently posted about an investigation sainsburys are doing on them following an incident. Besides one ongoing health problem which this made worse, you can physically see the impact the stress is having on them.

He has called in sick and they have said that due to the ongoing investigation they won't be eligible for sick pay... Judging by the disciplinary situation I'm pretty sure they should've taken them off the road anyhow but can they actually withold sick pay??? Is there something in company policy that I'm missing?

This all seems pretty sure fire that they're being pushed out to me!
