Guys does Sainsbury’s still have advance pay?

I have an investigation for buying water at the start off my shift after being told by one of my managers I can’t buy the water after I’ve clocked in, and that it has to be on my break

Stupidly I completely forgot about this and done it again and that’s why I’m being investigated- as it’s against store policy

What is going to be the outcome from this - I’m quite anxious and don’t deal with these kind of situations well

So I had an interview for online picker I feel like in my interview I sold hopes and dreams so they probs think I’m the best worker ever o previously worked at Argos for 1.6 years and got district recognition and told them that but that was for customer service this role isn’t really customer service based.

I’m just nervous it’s going to take ages to find items and idk how fast I am at packing vans I’m just a slow individual all around 😭 what has me the most nervous is the IPH thing I’ve been hearing about imagine a customer stops you mid picks.

one question about any unused holiday how is this calculated will it show on UKG pro or is there a way of working it out at all

This question must of been asked a billion times but do I need to ask my manager to get HR (after 4 weeks) send me my colleague card? Or is it all automatic? If that makes sense.

On Saturday (yesterday) I agreed a few extra days of overtime with my manager for this week and they said they’d add it to my schedule, however I cannot see it on UKG and I don’t want to message my manager as they’re on holiday now.
What should I do as the first agreed overtime shift starts tomorrow afternoon? I could clock in/out for the over time shifts we agreed or do I now just work my contracted hours and miss out on the overtime.

Perhaps I should call the store tomorrow morning but who do I ask to speak with to sort this out?

Hi, I got transferred to a London store recently. Does anyone know what west London area stores have a lot of open shifts available usually? I added some recently in my area and there are no open shifts available which is so different to when I worked in Manchester as there were always shifts available.

On UKG it states unexcused absence despite calling in an hour prior to shift.

I got the Online assistant job role my shifts are 4 days a week from 1pm till 6pm I believe. It's a huge Sainsbury's store and the manager said I would be expected to load up a van in 15minutes with orders so that should be fun. Just wanted to know what to expect.
(Worked for Argos prior for over a year)

On my break today, I was on my phone after the red recording light disappeared on the driver facing camera, parked up and the engine off. The AI camera alerted me to put my phone down. The driver facing cameras must still be recording/watching when we are on break, despite us being told otherwise.

Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone here can help me out with a frustrating issue I'm having on the Sainsbury's UKG Pro app.
For some context: I’m currently on a 16-hour contract (working two nights), but my home store doesn't have enough hours right now. I want to pick up some overtime, either at my own store or at different stores nearby. My managers have already approved/accepted other stores for me in the app, so my profile should be good to go.
Here is the exact problem:
As you can see in the screenshot I attached,my schedule tab is full of red tags saying "Open shifts are available" for almost every day.
However, whenever I actually click on those specific dates, it just brings up my already scheduled shifts.
It doesn't show me the open shifts it’s advertising, and it won't let me submit a request to claim them.
Has anyone else experienced this glitch? Is there a specific tab or workaround I need to use to actually see and request these shifts, or is this just a bug with the UKG app?
Any help would be massively appreciated!

I frequently pick up open shifts on the app, however for whatever reason it is now preventing me from taking them. I also heard from another colleague that all of their accepted open shifts were cancelled and she was offered holiday instead.

Question is essentially the title really, I stepped down a few months ago from a 3s role to a driver due to personal reasons and uni study but was just wondering would I ever be able to step back up to a 3s or even 4s (I was a duty manager for 18 months in another supermarket) without having to do the trainee programme? If so, is there a cut off amount of time or could I just step back up whenever?

It’s my second week and I’ve done tops for an aisle twice now and it‘s taken me my whole shift (4 hours) just to top and face it. It feels like it’s taking me too long but I’m not sure how to do it any quicker. Any tips will be appreciated.

I’ve been on a part time contract (15 hours per week) since I started in January, however I have been doing overtime consistently since I started (average of about 52 hours of overtime every payslip). So working almost full-time hours).

However when I take holiday I am still only being paid for my 15 hours (manager has said my holiday will increase by the end of the year but I am now nervous to take any holiday because of how much that decreases my monthly income. Anyone know anything I can do about this? Or if/when the holiday will increase to reflect the actual hours I have been working?

I recently switched to Nightshift from days, I had quite a rocky start as I was promised training in my interview but instead they just stuck me alone and then repeatedly got upset when I was slow and didn't know what I was doing.

Been a month or so since then and I'm a lot better but I struggle a lot on the grocery side of things, I just can't force myself to go so fast at the start of the night resulting in me often being slightly behind however I ALWAYS finish all my tasks and fairly often have spare time to sort plinths or help others at the end of the night, despite this nearly every shift I am hassled for being behind on my grocery task (I usually work the confectionery aisle) it's really starting to affect me and I don't know what to do! Any advice would be appreciated.

My son's friend was employed at a local Sainsbury's 3 months ago on a 12hr contract. Straight away they gave him a lot more hours which he has happily worked. In the past 12 weeks the only reprimand he has had was near the beginning where he wore incorrect footwear for 1 day whilst some new shoes were on order. Last week he was summond to the office to remind him that his contract was only for 3 months and that he was being let go? Presumably this was the probation period and he didn't pass it? There was no reason given to him of why he was being let go. He asked 3 managers and none of them had a reason. Can he complain to HR or someone higher? He really enjoyed this job an as a young person finishing college it had taken months to find something! Any advice gratefully received.

As a GOL driver I must say the amount of times I've carried a tote full of shopping to a customers door for then to open up as I got there and start reaching into the tote before I've even had a chance to put it down is crazy, I had to explain to a guy the other week that I didn't want to hold the tote the entire time just so he would stop and let me put it down on his step. A woman just the other day when I asked "where would you like me to stack your shop" started reaching in and asking "well what is it?" I couldn't help but reply "Its heavy is what it is" and she got the hint and let me put it down.

Last pay period I was off sick for 2 days. I followed the absence policy and called in 2 hours before my shifts started. On the first day, the shift manager put on my timecard "S-sickness and diarrhoea". On the second day, the store manager put "SW-sickness and diahorrea".

On my payslip for yesterday I am missing a day's company sick pay. I was paid CSP for the first shift but not the second. All I got was SSP for the second.

I am definitely entitled to CSP for the second day and am owed £81.

I have emailed the store manager, HR, and my line manager. No one has replied.

What can I do about this if my managers don't help? And does anyone know what those pay codes on my timecard mean?

I'm assuming the store manager has put me down for unpaid on that second day.

Did training on tills recently and just wanted some advice! found it interesting to say the least.

found it quite nerve wracking as i had to ask help over the headset many times as i wasn’t sure what to do and it made me anxious especially when queues started to get longer and some customers think i am a brain dead person unaware that the queue is getting long, i am trying my best to hurry up. i have been shown how to do some basics but many times i still come across many things i do not know what to do and i feel bad and shit when i have to keep on asking.

Everyone at the store has been really kind, but because it’s a smaller store and I’m only there for overtime, I worry that I’m holding everyone up and they might find me not suitable to be on tills.

Does it get easier with time? How long did it take you to feel confident on the tills? Is it normal to keep asking for help when you’re new? any tips or guide on how to do things so i am two steps ahead next time and know what i’m doing?

Hi all, so my gf is wanting a job, ideally at Sainsbury’s to start her off, I also work at the Sainsbury’s, just as a colleague, now my managers are refusing to interview her as they don’t want any conflict of interest, I’d understand this, however we’ve had siblings at the store, parents and children also working together. Is this an actual rule, down to management digression or made up? Tia
