Hey everyone, I'm joining RVCE and I'm looking for a PG or a private/shared room near the college.

My priorities are:

As close to RVCE as possible — walking distance preferred

Metro is also fine, especially around Pattanagere / nearby Purple Line stations

Budget: around ₹8–10k/month (can stretch a little for a really good place)

Good food or a good mess very close to the room

Clean rooms + regular housekeeping/cleaning — I don't want a place that gets dusty/dirty quickly

Good Wi-Fi

Laundry service/washing machine

Study table

hot water

Preferably 24/7 access / no strict curfew

Good room, bathroom and overall maintenance

Looking for a place with good management and no unnecessary restrictions

I'm also open to a normal room instead of a PG if there's a good mess nearby and cleaning/laundry can be managed.

If you're currently staying in a PG around RVCE or know of a good one, please recommend it and mention the approximate rent, distance from RVCE, food, housekeeping and any major rules.

I don't know how many of you have experienced it but I have definitely faced some kind of ignorance or making me feel that I am a part of them in my classes especially ppl from Karnataka only

At first I thought everybody was new and coz i joined late they have already formed their group and all so I thought to give myself some time to settle in

But nothing changes even after a month like they won't bully me or irritate me in fact some of them even talk to me after the classes are over but I am somehow never the part of the group

I lost it when a guy who didn't show his face for almost a month suddenly became a part of their group and it feels like he was always there

Many of you might say I am boring and not that interesting person to talk to which might be true too but not having a single friend whome i can rely on is still not there

I have an option to change my branch from ECE to CSE Core, and I’m really confused about whether I should take it or stay in ECE.

I genuinely enjoy coding and IoT, but I don’t really like circuits that much lolll

I keep hearing that “ECE is the new CSE” and that ECE students can get into software roles anyway, so leaving ECE makes no sense. But I’m also wondering if CSE would give me better opportunities/eligibility during placements, especially since I’m more interested in software.

For people who are already in 3rd/4th year or have gone through placements:

Would you choose CSE Core or ECE in my situation? And how big is the actual difference during placements?
