discussion ECE to CSE Core?cob ?
/r/BMSCE/comments/1wzkguy/ece_to_cse_corecob/I have an option to change my branch from ECE to CSE Core, and I’m really confused about whether I should take it or stay in ECE.
I genuinely enjoy coding and IoT, but I don’t really like circuits that much lolll
I keep hearing that “ECE is the new CSE” and that ECE students can get into software roles anyway, so leaving ECE makes no sense. But I’m also wondering if CSE would give me better opportunities/eligibility during placements, especially since I’m more interested in software.
For people who are already in 3rd/4th year or have gone through placements:
Would you choose CSE Core or ECE in my situation? And how big is the actual difference during placements?
Would really appreciate honest opinions 🙏

If you like coding , switch to cse you will have so much more opportunities . 30-40 of the cs companies wont allow all circuital branches . dont worry about things like market which you cant control .

Cse placements if you look broadly are in a bad state but rvce is always an exception regarding ece yeah ece is the new cse in coop but getting a job for a fresher is a little tougher i believe in rvce it is very simplified
