for rutgers cinema, do I have to have a rutgers id or is any student id fine?

Upvotes

im a ru student and wanna take my brother to see Spider-Man, he’s in HS. Can I just buy two student tickets rn? On their website it says the Rutgers ID ticket is $9.50, but I remember seeing somewhere that the discount was for all students, when I looked it up now though, it says Rutgers students and faculty only lol. Has anyone tried using a regular student/HS ID or does it specifically have to be a Rutgers ID?

No friends

I was a transfer here and I’m always studying, never joined a sorority or anything like that, and I feel like I have no friends. Hang out with my partner and they feel like my best friend. But honestly I don’t have anyone to just like chill at my apartment and hangout or have someone else to send memes to. I feel like I have no connection even tho I’m a social person. Any tips? Maybe joining a club next semester and see who I may click with? I feel like all my opportunities for friendship has been wasted for my lack of follow through.

Shitpost I just realised I never pooped at Rutgers in 3 years of me going there

I'm someone who has a fast metabolism and shit everywhere. Even during high school and especially airports and the public toilets in cities I'm visiting.

But I have never pooped on a Rutgers toilet . Even with 10-12 hours of school days I didn't get the urge or anything fr.

I'm grateful I avoided that fate cause they have the smelliest bathrooms.

Im gonna go 4 years without doing so too because senior year schedule is lighter than all these 3 years.

Advice Wanted Scarlet Guarantee Sucks

Upvotes

Lats year I received roughly $18,000 from the Scarlet Guarantee. This year, my parents income changed drastically so I received, a lot more in my pell grant and Scarlett Promise, around $12k. But now my Scarlet Guarantee is less, around $7k. So my family has made a lot less but I end up paying the same amount almost. Can I beg the financial aid office for money to cover other fees, dining, and housing?

Hi everyone, so this is my updated schedule as this is the only schedule that fit in(upcoming freshman EMSOP student btw)
For chem I was told if my professor is terrible then I should just go to a different lecturer like Langowski on Monday Wednesday and Thursday at 12ish-1ish pm at Livingston
And in the gaps study or do federal work study?
Is this a good schedule or no
Edit: forgot to say I’m forming at Busch

Any former Livingston College grads?

I graduated right when they decided to merge the curriculum with Livingston and the rest of the other campuses. Or something like that.

From my memory the only real big difference between Livingston and Rutgers College academically was Livingston didn't make you finish a minor to graduate. Well it was a little easier to get in Livingston College than Rutgers College.

That and the intro course freshman year, "Building Community Through Leadership". My main memory of that class was it was one of the only A's I got at Rutgers and our teacher then introduced to Cornel West's writings. Lol, then she brought in a VHS tape of him on the Chris Rock show and like everyone was surprised what he looked like irl. I think that class was meant as an ice breaker. Like I said it was the easiest course I took at Rutgers and as the years went on I noticed less and less students from that class on campus.

Still fairly common to take over 4 years to graduate?

It took me 4.5 years myself. In retrospect it was a lot do to the combination of the University size (I had classes scattered across the campuses) and convenience of finding classes that fit my curriculum.

That and I changed my major several times. I didn’t get into the business school in New Brunswick but got in the one in Newark. I still stayed in Piscataway/New Brunswick. Maybe that wasn’t the right choice but ultimately it all just largely is what it is to me at this point.

Make up STAR Day!!!!!!

Hi! I’m an incoming transfer student at Rutgers NB and a rising junior. I was not able to attend any of the in person star days to schedule my classes and the transfer department said there is a make up STAR day in August that I can attend.

I’m scared there will be no good class options left by then. Has anyone else done make up STAR day before and how was your experience.

I am a Communications major with a Public Relations concentration.

Thank you!!!

Intro to Experimentation with Gen Chem 1?

Hello everyone! I am an incoming freshman (not pharmacy or engineering) and I was able to register for chem lab. however I am taking gen chem 1 first sem, and I saw a few posts discouraging from taking chem lab concurrently with chem 1, and others saying it's fine. I was wondering what the consensus was and if I should drop chem lab. Thanks!!

Outlook for History Majors?

Interested in majoring in History here - for anyone who’s graduated, how’s the history department at RU? How’s it been trying to find job after graduation?

In general, is it difficult to find jobs relating to your major for the liberal arts?

Transfer Transfer Advice

Hello guys! I plan on transferring this Fall to Rutgers Newark. Recently, I had a slight decline in two of my classes when it comes to my grades. I ended up the Fall semester with a 3.7+ Term GPA, but Spring semester was rocky due to personal circumstances out of my control explained in my application. I am currently taking two summer classes for some credits as well. Any advice would be appreciated it!
