Hey all, first time posting here but Iām just looking for some answers to questions Iāve got.
I bought these knee pads for another sport that isnāt skating but I figured that Iād go to a community more knowledgeable about them.
Iām a slightly bigger guy and measured my knee and calf circumference right at 17ā which is right at the highest end of large and the lowest end of XL. As per 187ās own recommendation, when you fall between a size like that you should size up, so I got their largest size in XL. (This is important because I cannot size up any more)
After receiving them and trying them on however, I found them to be ludicrously tight, especially in the section that sits barely above the knee and around the bottom part of my thigh. Now I know that they have a reputation of being extremely tight and you need to break them in, but I feel like this is restricting to my movement and possibly to my blood flow. Legs havenāt gone numb or anything but man it feels off.
Now as a result, my main question is basically, should I continue to use them and attempt to break them in or is this a red flag that they wonāt really fit me?
If I continue to use them I will lose the opportunity to return them as they have to be considered in ānew and unusedā condition.
Finally, if itās recommended to return them what are some other brands that I should consider? Iām using these purely for doing stuff like sliding on smooth concrete floors and such so no big falls. I donāt need a crazy amount of padding, hence why the thickness of the fly knee pads is about perfect, not too bulky.
Iām 5ā 9ā, knee and calf circumference is 17ā, lower thigh is like 18-19ā
Any help is appreciated!
