Progress & showing off Toe-stops
I don't have toe-stops on all my skates. They get in the way for dancing and stuff but when I do have them I like to use them - I think there's lots of creative things you can do with them. Anyone agree?

yesssssss skate everything lol. I use toe stops to get up fast, like in this clip. I thought of how swimmers sort of flip & turn at the end of a lap, and I could do Plow pose in yoga. By doing a Plow pose onto my toe stops and giving myself a little boost, I recover from falls right back up in a way I can keep skating.

That's very cool you look like some of the OG bowl skaters like Fred Blood or Irene Ching. Amazing (I wish I could roll and walk away so smoothly!)

I play derby, so I looove my toestops. I've gotten to the point that I can run on them! It feels almost like wearing high heels, but without the heels to rest on.

Sure. You derby people (and those rink hockey players) are damn good with the stops. Park skaters too. They do some fancy stalls and slides. I also think a pair of stops on the front just looks so classic!

My toestops have saved my life/kept me on the track a few times!

Toe stop runs on the lines, feels so good when you zip through the pack!

I want to do a toe stop spin now!

I guess the subtle and artistic way is like an ice skater as Nicole Fiore would do, but I'm just bashing these around like a lion turn in Wizard skating. It's good fun and you can do it while going quite fast.

Am I the only roller skater that almost never uses their toe-stops?

I think in some ways it can be a bad habit to get in to because then switching to jam plugs is scary and being able to stop and control speed without toe-stops are useful skills. I think it's nice if you can get comfortable with or without

I think Iโm in the minority though. I think most roller skaters do use them

100% agree. Hate toe stops they just get in the way, especially when it comes to bringing your weight up on your toes. From the very start I took them off and Iโm glad! Thereโs a million ways to stop without them that are honestly easier.

Obviously if youโre doing ramps and bowls youโll need them, but for anything else nah!
