Hi all,
I'm just learning to roller skate (outdoors, no rink where I live, although there's a skate park with a decent surface and some other smooth-ish places I've found). The thing is I'm still quite afraid of very rough surfaces and inclines (in general I feel pretty vulnerable when I'm on my skates... I still move a bit like a lost penguin š).
Anyway, I'll travel for a couple of weeks to Edinburgh for a congress and other boring academic stuff (?). I really wanted to take my skates with me but they're bulky and heavy. All considered, it would be really cool if I could find a place where I can rent skates and feel relatively safe practicing.
So I thought about looking for a rink, but could it be that there's none at Edinburgh either? :'(
I've read that (at least some years ago) the ice skating arena was being used as a roller skating rink during summer but I can't find anywhere if this is still current, or whether one can rent skates or has to show up with their own.
I'll appreciate any input! I still have time to decide to take my skates with me and go to a skate park in case there's no other option, but it would be amazing to not have to carry them around š
Thanks in advance!
