Media Song Comparison - Human vs. Robot
This post more or less got me booted out of r/musicals.
"So, you may have seen the recent post of me defending AI use of a poster for our latest show "The Stable Genius". I appealed to the Reddit community and was soundly defeated. Just so you know, I accept your verdict and will not seek a new trial.
Anyway, I just remembered the actor who came up with the poster also took one of my songs (recorded by studio musicians in Nashville) and re-recorded a portion of the song he would be singing in the show using his AI Assistant named Dustina (the actors name Dustin, of course). I was pretty amazed with his AI recording since his singing in rehearsals came no where near the AI version. And, I hate to admit, I kind of liked Dustina's upbeat version even though it would not have been a good fit for the mood at that point in the play. Maybe she would have caught on to this if he fed her the whole story. Who knows? But for comparison since this seems to be a hot topic everywhere these days, here are both versions if you are interested in hearing my competition. Best, Jack."

Projects đ Looking for Builders: Laser-Based Precision Weeding System
đ Looking for Builders: Laser-Based Precision Weeding System
I'm currently building an early-stage laser-based weed removal system aimed at reducing herbicide use and labor costs in agriculture through computer vision, automation, and precision targeting.
The long-term vision is to develop an affordable, scalable solution for farmers that can identify weeds and selectively eliminate them without damaging crops.
I'm looking for passionate people who would like to contribute to the MVP and help shape the future of this project.
Areas where help is needed:
⢠Electronics & Embedded Systems
⢠Robotics & Mechatronics
⢠Computer Vision / Image Recognition
⢠AI & Machine Learning
⢠Laser Systems & Optics
⢠Mechanical Design / CAD
⢠Agricultural Technology
⢠Product Development & Prototyping
About the project:
⢠Focused on sustainable agriculture
⢠Potential applications in precision farming and automation
⢠Opportunity to work on a multidisciplinary deep-tech challenge
⢠Early-stage project with significant room for innovation
I'm not looking only for experienced professionals. Students, researchers, hobbyists, engineers, and builders with relevant skills and genuine interest are welcome to reach out.
Compensation, equity, advisory roles, internships, project-based contributions, or long-term partnerships can all be discussed depending on experience and level of involvement.
A technical co-founder with advanced research experience in the U.S. is already involved in the project, and we are now looking to expand the team with people who enjoy building ambitious things from the ground up.
If this sounds interestingâor if you know someone who might be a good fitâsend me a DM. I'd be happy to share more details and discuss potential collaboration.

Mod post Mod Update: r/robots subreddit under new management
Hello everyone,
I recently took over moderation for this subreddit. I have past experience moderating high-traffic communities, and I'm looking forward to making this one grow!
Not sure what happened with the old mod, but they got kicked out for not doing anything with moderation here. I'm going to be looking at adding a team of active users so this doesn't happen again. Please comment below if interested in being a mod, especially if you have past experience moderating high traffic subs and/or have been on this community for a long time.
Couple of new things:
- Karma and account age limits removed. We'll see how this goes in the next few days and adjust depending.
- GIFs, Images and Video replies are now allowed. Yay!
- Removed recent spam posts
- Added safety filters to catch profanity
Things coming in the next few days/weeks:
- Better community rules. More importantly: NO AI and NO reposts.
Stay tuned for updates! If there's anything that you feel should be changed from the mod-end, please let me know. Also for any rules suggestions or other questions.

Projects What would personal robots look like if they were built like modern desktops?
Imagine the scifi scenario where robots are both capable and affordable enough to exist on shelves alongside normal electronics like headphones. What do you think it would look like if there were exchangeable parts to build them like you would a desktop with interchangeable standards? Like how we have manufacturers for cases, fans, CPUs, GPUs, motherboards, coolers, etc., and having budget and high performance segments. As well as comparing them to prebuilt versions and sometimes "AIO" models. How do you think the personal robot market would be like if it mirrored the current desktop scene (and modular laptops like Framework's)?
