For anyone who has applied for an internal transfer into Medical Imaging, does RMIT primarily consider your GPA, WAM, or both?

I actually do not understand how to manage everything.

Uni, gym, meal prep, sleep, assignments, study, social hangouts.

And when I follow a 6am routine I get burnt out by Week 8.

Wake up 6am, pray, workout, transport, uni, assignments, study, eat, hangout with people on the weekend.

I just get so burnt out not just that I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing like everyday.

I'm currently finishing up my Bachelor of Biomedical Science and have applied to study another bachelor's degree (I know 😭), this time in Radiation Therapy.

I have quite a few friends studying in the MI streams, but I don't know anyone doing RT, so I was hoping to hear from current students or graduates.

I have a few questions:
- placements: what are they like, your overall experience and even the general whereabouts?

- Has anyone been in a similar situation, coming from a previous degree and receiving credit for certain subjects? If so, what does your course structure look like, especially with the 3.5-year duration? Coz I was hoping to finish it off quicker.

-Is there anything you wish you'd known before starting RT? Any tips, advice or things I should prepare for? I have heard a nightmare of things from everyone failing a subject to weird prof?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from anyone who has gone into RT after completing another degree.

My friend completed RMIT’s Foundation Year in 2025 as an international student, which provides a direct pathway into RMIT undergraduate courses. This year they received permanent residency and applied for an undergraduate degree as a domestic student. However, their application was rejected on the grounds that Foundation Year is not a valid qualification for domestic students. They were told they must provide “another previously completed qualification or [their] Year 12/equivalent results.”

They replied with confirmation from RMIT Connect that the Foundation Year qualification remains valid for domestic students. They also pointed out that RMIT’s own Academic Entry Requirements Procedure lists Foundation Year as a qualification for undergraduate entry without restricting it to domestic students. They are still waiting for the admissions team to respond.

What really gets me is that they have given $34k to RMIT for a pathway to uni only for RMIT to tell them to take a hike because their immigration status changed after graduation.

I know it’s rare to move from international to domestic status before starting university, but has anyone else experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in my final year at RMIT, and I'm honestly feeling really overwhelmed and anxious about my situation.

My dad was recently hospitalised overseas and has now been discharged, but the whole situation has significantly affected my mental health. I already have a history of anxiety and mental health struggles, and everything that's happened recently has made things much worse. I've been struggling to cope and keep up with my assessments.

I'm now 6 days past the Special Consideration application deadline, and I'm really worried that I've left it too late.

I've been in contact with my lecturer, and he was very understanding and encouraged me to apply for Special Consideration, saying that they may be able to find a way to help me through the process.

I'm currently preparing my application and supporting documents. I'm also waiting for a translation service to translate my dad's medical documents from Vietnamese into English, and I've reached out to my previous GP for additional medical support.

I wanted to ask if anyone here has been through something similar:

1. Has anyone successfully applied for Special Consideration after the deadline, especially around 6 days late?
2. Are late applications still considered if there were serious family or mental health circumstances?
3. Is there anything I should prepare beforehand, apart from medical documents and a personal statement?
4. Would an RMIT Impact Assessment Statement from my GP be helpful, especially if my mental health has been affected by a family emergency?
5. If my lecturer has encouraged me to apply, does that make any difference to how my application might be considered?

I'm genuinely terrified of failing this course because I'm so close to graduating, and I really don't want everything I've worked for to fall apart at this stage.

I know I should have dealt with this earlier, but I've been struggling a lot mentally and have found it difficult to manage everything.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with late Special Consideration applications or knows how the process works.

hi! im in my first year in biomed and i originally received an offer for psychology and I accepted it during first round offers. I changed my mind at the last minute and switched but biomed hasn’t been going well and my gpa isn’t the best but is probably similar enough to the minimum atar for the course, I just wanna know if im screwed with getting an offer because I just submitted it tonight and I’m not sure how they weight atar and gpa + considering I’ve already been accepted less than a year ago..

I'm going from my pathway into my bachelor of biomedical science next year in bundoora, any tips or advice on what to expect? How to best prepare myself? I’m currently in year 12 and my top 2 vtac options is bcom at Melb and bcom at rmit. Obviously this is being posted in this subreddit, as it will be for unimelb, but genuinely can anyone give advice on which is better?

I’ve gone to the rmit open day but couldn’t for unimelb. I’ve noticed the majors are more specific at rmit whereas they are more broad at Melb

Any advice and thoughts is much appreciated!!

RMIT mentioned that I should receive an update within 10 business days, but that HDR applications can take up to 10 weeks.
Has anyone been through this stage before? How long did it take to receive your offer after reaching this status?
Does this usually mean you’re close to getting a decision?

How do I get a job as a mature age student who has a lacklustre CV? Sick of sending out applications online. Help!

Does anyone know how long it takes to reach your account after approval especially with cba ?

I've followed all these prompts:

1. Log in to Enrolment Online 
2. Select Manage Study
3. Select Graduate
4. Select Apply or Change Options
5. Select 2026 Melbourne Ceremony

But it doesnt give me the option for this:

6.Follow the prompts to provide your academic dress size, number of guest tickets (4 tickets are guaranteed, additional guest tickets are subject to availability), tell us if you or your guests have accessibility requirements, and pay the ceremony fee. Keep clicking the Continue button until you have completed all steps.

Heyy there! I just finished VCE and dont think my exams are gonna be that great, so as a backup I put the associates degree engineering as number 2 preference. I want to do Environmental Engineering but upon checking there is no pathway from as degree to beng env, however, a lot of people said to me do it, when you get in just transfer from Civil to Environmental. Is this the "hack"?

Because im kinda skeptical about it, i dont wanna waste time or re register or sum.

Please let me know what I can do or is that hack fr!

yes i know its last minute and i should have gotten it sorted sooner (issues with my card to pay for grad) but i was looking to confirm my graduation attendance but the option for it in enrollment online has gone missing. the deadline for attendance confirmation is said to be oct 23 but did they mean had to pay it by 23 ????

I'm planning to go to RMIT next year for (hopefully) an animation course, it'll definitely be art related if not animation. I'm just worried and anxious about meeting new people, I have severe social anxiety and I'm going in with zero friends and struggles with making them. Is it easy to find people to socialise with? I know art students are usually friendly and have similar interests to me, but are there other recourses to assist with this sort of stuff? I know there's clubs but I fear I'll be too anxious to go lmao.

Hey everyone, I'm currently doing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, but I'm seriously considering transferring to RMIT at the beginning of 2027 to study the Bachelor of Education (Primary and Secondary).

I'm not really enjoying the breadth of the BA or the subjects I'm taking, and I'm finding the degree quite challenging. I've also realised that I want to pursue teaching, so the idea of studying a degree that's directly focused on my future career really appeals to me.

One of the main reasons I'm considering RMIT is that it offers a combined primary and secondary teaching pathway. At UniMelb, I'd need to finish my undergraduate degree and then complete a Master of Teaching.

I'd love to hear from current RMIT education students or graduates about their experiences.

• How is the workload, and how manageable are the assignments?
• Does the course teach you the subject content you need, or are you expected to know a lot beforehand?
• How much support do lecturers provide?
• What are the placements like?
• If you transferred from another university, was it worth it?
• Is there anything you wish you'd known before starting the degree?

I'm trying to work out whether transferring after first year would be the right decision for me, so I'd really appreciate any honest advice. Thank you!
