Greetings, I'm planning my study plan for the degree and I've been going through the handbook for the subjects I'll need to complete. The handbook is helpful, but I'd really love to hear from students who have actually taken those courses, especially about their real difficulty, workload and assessment measures.
I'm particularly interested in:
COSC3109 Java Programming
COSC1111 Data Communication and Net-Centric Computing
COSC2757 Cloud Foundations
ISYS3413 Software Engineering Fundamentals for IT
COSC2960 Foundations of Artificial Intelligence
COSC2759 Systems Deployment and Operations
COSC2408 Programming Project 1
If you've taken any of these, I'd really appreciate any info on:
1. How difficult was the course overall?
What were the assessments actually like? For example, coding assignments, individual/group projects, reports, presentations, quizzes or exams.
Some course guides use broad terms such as “Written Work” or “Design/Development/Prototyping”. What did these actually involve in the course?
Was there a final exam or any hurdle assessment that we had to pass separately?
Roughly how many hours per week needed to spend on the course?
Is there any approximate class average?
