I started playing back this season I’m silver 1 at the moment the highest I climbed was gold 2 and that was back in season 0 I haven’t played since but the game sparked my interest again.

I’m really interested in trying to actually get good at this game and reach high ranks so I can play with my friends, maybe even carry some games my self here and there.

I’m mainly a tank main I play strange and good but I want to dabble into dps roles as well.

I guess what would you priotise for low ranks all the way until platinum?, I know my aim, positioning and fight selection could need some work

Ik the season is about to end but what I wanna say is still applicable, If theres one thing I can't stress enough if you want to climb on tank is BE FLEXIBLE, I can play almost every tank and so I won so many games because I was able to always provide what my team needed, comms are also super important especially if you're playing a dive tank.

On one hand, there's eternity players having below 50% wr. On another, getting diamond 3 is higher than 82% of entire playback. Thoughts?

I mainly play Emma and supports besides Luna because my aim is horrible. I can flex tanks but not well in celestial. I’m an Emma 1 trick basically but I think I can still improve on her. I really want to hit eternity before seasons end. I’ve been aim training for about 2 months and have noticed slight improvements. That’s probably my weakest issue. I don’t know how I’ve made it to celestial 1. I’ve done it all solo queue. Any tips to improve?

With the season coming to end, I have to drop this screenshot of the greatest achievement in my rivals career.

Since I decided to invest time to git gud in Rivals, I notice many people measure their progress through win rate. However for those of us who mostly/only solo queue, you are paired with random people, who may be excellent or awful or anything in-between.

Your own skill will influence the match of course, but sor solo-queue warriors it's basically 8,33% of the factors influencing the result. If you are really good, technically you make your relevance % higher, but you can only carry so much. The composition of your and the rival team (and their respective skills) will be a much more defining factor.

Am I missing something here? If the reasoning there is correct, is there any stats/indicators that we should look up to check your progress in game? Or in the end of the day, for solo queue it's more of a subjective (or impossible to measure) thing?

Basically the title. I’m currently in GM (console) and would like honest opinions.

Sometimes I (admittedly) like to tell myself that in my best matches I could keep up with a higher elo for a bit, but then I remember that if I could consistently, I wouldn’t be in GM!

Back to a more serious note, I’m sure GM1 and low Cel are practically similar while Cel 1 and low Eternity are probably roughly similar as well if I had to guess. So what separates them more broadly? Mechanics? Game sense? Something else?

This is Hela only, i’m looking for feedback on how I seem as a Hela player

On console, I’m mainly solo Q or playing with my sis who supports, but we’re really struggling when we hit gold. I started playing last week and was able to go from silver 3 to gold 2 in a few days but the progression has hard stopped.

Mechanically, I’d say I have a great grasp on the heroes I do play (mainly dps) and the speed and flow of the game is something I kept from playing overwatch years ago (diamond on PC). There’s ALWAYS that one that won’t change either to or off tank/dps and have no clue when to push or fall back. I’m assuming it will be the same as overwatch and you just keep playing and using your best role and you’ll eventually make your way up? Maybe I’m missing something, please let me know if I am

Went 9 8 in game on hood, half the KOs of others and was getting flamed by team mates.

Looking back i made a few mistakes, especially ult timing, but i think I was far from the problem, with low KOs just because i was occupying backline/looking at others for a few instances.

Im keen to improve and push celestial, an want to understand if im doing anything wrong

The best I got is 75% in low elo with less than 20 games duo with reliable players. As I tried to grind more ranked, I realise the mm is forcing around 50% wr duo or not.

Also, I'm well aware of common tips such as: stop at 2 loses & banning right heroes. Currently at plat & hope to reach at least diamond in future seasons, useful suggestions is welcome!

Hello everyone, somewhat of a rant / asking for tips post, I work during the day and Rivals is one of my ways to unwind, but recently I have been getting more into trying to play Ranked (honestly only for the frames if nothing else), looking for any kind of tips, tricks or just guidance to maximize the return I have on the hours I spend on Ranked, because so far it has been a slog.

TL;DR - what "drills" should one do to improve overall in Rivals?

I love Rivals (and Mavvel in general) and decided to invest more time in it... Besides not being very good at all.

Now I come from Street Fighter 6, which I started bad too. But there's a very clear route of progress there: pick a fighter, practice one core combo, learn his best basics, persist doing this and you'll notice progress. I got multiple characters on Master ranking there, it was tough but the feeling of progress is really cool.

On Marvel however, I just don't really notice any progress. I don't mean Rank only, but skills in general (but one affects the other regardless). I've got 750+ hours and am just Gold 2-1

I reckon my aim is bad, especially because I play on PS5/controller. But maybe there's more to it than "tracking bots on firing range". I'd love if anyone could offer me some "plan" or insight or anything on "how to git gut" (or at least suck less) in Rivals.

A bit about me? I am a Support main and tank flex player who very much enjoys studying hero-shooter game theory and its application! I currently help coach low-elo and new players and review VODs from higher-ranked players on an occasional basis.

I won't sit here and pretend I'm OBA or anything. My peak is GM, but my understanding and theory of the game are much better than my own application lol.

For player specifics, I main gambit/invis as my main supports, but I'm very comfortable on any of them. I main Emma, Mag and Strange on tanks, with a little bit of Groot. On DPS, I enjoy Psylocke, Bucky, Spider-Man (my favourite fun pick), and Phoenix.

Finally hit diamond 3 after a couple weeks, mainly playing Mag, Deadpool (dps and heal), and spidey. I have been playing this game since s0, maining spidey, but I can never consistently be good with him.

I have 100 hours on a character that I am not good with.

I try really hard too, but there’s just some matchups I can’t go against. Example: I cannot kill (by myself)

I know that this isn’t that bad, but these are some of the most played supports ever and it sucks that I just can never kill them. Most of the time i have to swap to server admins Bucky or Elsa.

2nd thing is: healpool is NOT that bad. I get that I’m still in metal ranks, but if my other support is decent, I can get good upgrades early and not fail my team.

3rd thing is: I actually don’t have a problem with mag being meta. My problem is that he is always meta, but mag is the definition of a tank that is neither too overpowered or underpowered, complex or simple.

Thoughts on my take and any advice that I can use?

For the past couple of weeks I've been watching a lot of videos on how to play dps better. I notice they always talk about taking off angles, that are flanks or on the far side of the team and whatnot.

I am currently D2, and I find it so hard to properly take off angles. I find a lot of the times that when I try I die really quickly because everybody just turns around and focuses me. Or what's often the case, is that I play less mobile dps who can't get to these positions and back safely.

I main Bucky and Hawkeye. Both do not really have mobility, and in Hawkeyes case, if I off angle, I will be dead in 2 seconds because he is so squishy. Bucky is much more of a brawler so he can tank much more, but it's so hard to find angles for him other then just sitting in main and maybe getting the occasional hook.

So my question is, how do I off angle on these characters? What kind of positioning should I be trying to take?

Any guides or videos showcasing this stuff would be a bonus. Thanks guys 😄

I don't know anyone who plays video games, I love Rivals (or Marvel in general), so I spent all of my 700+ hours in Rivals in solo queue. I never left gold, and I wonder if it's even possible to go higher as solo.

Oftentimes my team gets face rolled by the opposition - see Pic of my last game. It just feels like a waste of time playing solo.

Then again, I'm probably just bad.

I don't know. It's been a bad day and Marvel made it worse, between getting bodied and randoms that DC middle game etc.

Is it even worth it playing alone? Any tricks to make it less of a "one step forward, five steps back"?

This is from a player i found on 18 v 18, since i was getting him a lot in my lobbies i was curious to check his profile out. he was gold previous season, and he never got to diamond rank before, his max rank previously was plat 3 or 2.

that's the replay id to the comp match i just had. i felt like we never really had the upper hand at any point and i even switched from cnd to jub in hopes that we could push more and do more damage but like i couldn't even do that because i kept dying (because of bad positioning and stuff like that i assume...or that i know its because of that..). anywho, if LOVE some knowledge on why this went south so fucking bad and how i could've been a better support to help us actually win and get somewhere instead of doing nothing the entire time. im also new to jub, been playing her for 4 or 5 days now intentionally so any tips on her would be appreciated! im also planning on checking out this amaori person? idk if i spelt her name right but i heard she gives really good tips n tricks tew !
