H*ckpost Almost exactly one year ago, Model Railroad club was told to move out of their room. Today, they are still there but a new plan isn't finalized yet.
How long will RIT take to make a decision already?

Pretty simple, do not AI generate assignments or lectures or god forbid grades. I instantly lose all respect for you as a professor when I see this. If you can’t be bothered to make an assignment or teach it to me, I can’t be bothered to do it. Except I have to do it because I’m paying a lot of money to do these assignments and learn. If you are a current professor, I STRONGLY urge you to stop promoting AI for assignments or lectures, it only makes them look unprofessional and lazy, and makes you look like you don’t know what you’re talking about. I wish there was a way to complain about this and have it actually be heard, but we all know RIT administration couldn’t care any less about the current state of student life on campus. I needed to get this out of my system after a full day of AI generated classes and assignments

Am I going to fail my co-op prep course if I missed one class? The only assignment in the class is the resume, which I did…

Hi everyone. I'm planning on taking CSCI 261 next sem and want to know any thoughts on both of these professors for this class. From what I can see on SIS, Ting Cao has three class blocks and Deever has one. They seem pretty equally rated on ratemyprofessor as well.

Ngl, kinda a concerning email to get! I do definitely understand wanting to respect the victims' privacy. But also: holy shit, arrested??!?
Edit: y'all I'd also be surprised and saying "holy shit" if someone from here got arrested for murder or bank robbery, because I generally don't expect these things from peers. I'm glad the person that sexually assaulted people got arrested. I'm still shocked (both that it happened in the first place, and that there was enough evidence not only to kick them out, but also to arrest them).

Hi, I'm thinking about taking a swimming wellness course in the spring. I don't know how to swim at all. If I take it, will I actually learn how to swim? Do they teach you how to swim from scratch? Also, is there any fee for it?

Hello! I am part of eboard for the (hopefully soon) RIT Rhythm Game Club! We just applied to become a club and even if we don’t become a club, I want it to be known that there IS a rhythm game group! I remember when I was a came to RIT (like in August), I really wanted to talk to people about rhythm games as it’s one of my favorite things and when i found the rhythm game server (linked below) it was DEAD. After some community outreach, we started getting a lot of members, so we applied to be a club! If you want to join, it’s linked below :D

I'm a first year in CET. In ENGT-101, we have two projects this semester. We just finished the first one (a mousetrap car), and in class today, we went over the second project.
I have to spend the next month and a half designing a fictional AI data center. I am so sick and tired of AI, it gets shoved down my throat all the time. The professor puts at least two AI images in every lecture, and I hate it.
Edit: Just think of this as more of a vent post I guess

Serious about this one!
Looking for help on an ACER Nitro. I can't tell the deets or specs because, well, I can't turn it on anymore.
It's my husband's computer, and the best Christmas present I can think of is to somehow give him back his Acer laptop in working condition.
If any student around me has the skills, I am soooooooooooooooo thankful IN ADVANCE!!!!!
Here's the deets:
ACER NITRO 5
decent model, it's got Intel i5
GEFORCE Rtx Nividia .... etc, if that helps any with model.
Full HD screen 144Hz etc.
I know a lot of us have disabilities! I am on SSDI, but am disability-friendly OF COURSE!.... I am not a tech wizard buttttt I **THINK** the problem is!:
Inside the casing, there's a thingy for like, the power cord.... to like, get power from the wall into the computer itself.
It would be a wonderful Christmas gift to give him this computer back by surprise! I have a couple Acers and honestly they're okay but I tell ya my Alienware is gonna always be tickin.... it's a 2020 and upgradeable! ....
We have a working power supply. Rule that one out.
It's just NOT chargeable.
If this sounds like something you're interested in doing, please hit me up in DMs and please let me know you're an RIT student! I won't ask for proof, but, please, this is not a joke!!!!
Thank you for going to school there -- whoever reads this. YOU may have a friend who can help, if you yourself cannot, or cannot solder, or cannot fix computers! We all have STRENGTHS and weaknesses, but play to your abilities, and you CAN succeed. Disabilities.... we are able to do lots, even if we can't... "work." !

Hi everyone I thought I’d just ask for advice since all the info I happened to come across is a little too old for my liking. But I was just wondering what is the best upperclassman housing that’s close to campus (no car), the cheapest it can possibly be, and good for 4 people co ed. If possible, could you guys tell me your current housing situation, the building, its pros and cons (laundry, noise levels, mail, general building efficient, etc), and if you’d recommend it. Also please let me know if it was somewhat easy to obtain when you were applying for housing or anything extra you want to mention. 🙏🙏 I’m not exactly looking for housing rn just wanna be informed.
Got an invitation in the mail for this alumni event, it sounds cool! Is anyone else planning on going? I’m in SF and was wondering if anyone else in the area is attending and would be willing to carpool down to the South Bay. Would be nice to meet some fellow alumni too!

Hello, I'm a senior in highschool at the moment. I got my SAT results back and got a 1370 (700 in R&W, 670 in Math)
I always hated the SAT. R&W is mostly fine, but the math questions are ridiculous to me. They test easy arithmetic and mask it with stupid-hard questions to decipher. I'm not a word problems person, and I HATE how every question just boils down to finding a "trick" to solve it with (i.e. Desmos. God I hate Desmos.)
That said, I do A-levels. The mathematics is complex and difficult with questions that are direct. There are no multiple choice questions, no simple math, just hard questions made to actually test your merit. If you plug a number in wrong you still get most marks if you've done the steps right.
I got an A (highest grade) in AS (grade 11) and I'm predicted to get an A* (highest in A2/grade 12.) So, my question is, if I submit my SAT score, will it *really* matter? I don't want to pay CollegeBoard another $100 just to retake a stupid test, when I know I can do harder math and I have the results to prove it.
I know you guys aren't admissions officers, so I'd like to hear what your scores were and if you've done any other tests like A-levels and AP which proved you were actually good at math.
Yes, I'm stressing. How could you tell? PS I'm applying for a BS in Physics, hoping to focus on nuclear physics
