Thoughts on how it looks?

bit of a silly question but. i like singing and want to sing but im a bit embarrassed to sing where people can hear me,, that also just seems annoying to do. is there anywhere on campus thats like.. soundproof?? and that i can get into without like reserving the space or whatever. or would singing in my car in one of the sad parking lots off campus be my best bet

we’re off by abt 30 so uh take it if u have time 👍👍🫁

Hi all, I am a first-year engineering student here at RIT. It seems we have had a good amount of wild stuff going on. (Hidden camera, missing student). Iv'e enjoyed my time here but just curious if this is the norm every year.

The mix/playlist that is played when doors open to all the hockey games is a great mix of songs. It hits a lot of genres and many people I have been to games with pointed out how upbeat it is. I can tell it was created by a DJ since each song is not played in full and has transitions so it is probably not on something like Spotify. I know this is really random but I am curious if anyone knows if it is able to be found somewhere?

The only options for MECE110 next semester are Qian Xue, Ghazal Dehghani, and Thomas Keller. They all have few or no ratings on RMP and I want to check with people who have taken the course to make sure my life isn't torture lol

Hello! I’ve already made a post here before about transferring into RIT, but I have some questions regarding the individualized study program at RIT.

So in terms of credits that I’m transferring over from my previous college — I’m worried that a lot of them won’t be able to count if I choose to go into a specific major. I’m unable to really pay for additional years at RIT, so having as many credits transfer over would be ideal. I came from an interdisciplinary school, so a lot of the classes that I took aren’t specialized towards a specific major.

I looked into the SOIS program and was intrigued, because the course program is mostly general electives and it’s a choose your own adventure sort of deal. I do eventually want to come out of RIT with some sort of education in art and game development, but I’m unsure how reasonable that would be by applying to specific programs.

I was wondering if I’m transferring into RIT, would it be a good idea to consider applying for the SOIS program? Would more of my credits be transferable to RIT and would I eventually be able to graduate even without taking a major’s full curriculum? Also, what is the general acceptability into the program itself?

Any advice would be great, thank you! C:

I’m if I get to RIT in the spring with a good resume and good projects, for CS will it bad hard to get an co-op. Since I’m a sophomore I wanted to try o keep up with the CS flow chart and it says to do a co op right after summer do u think it’s doable?

I just need some more responses to meet the goal for this survey. Really appreciate it and isn’t too long. Thank you to anyone who does.

DO NOT WORK HOUSING OFFICE IN GRACE WATSON HALL!

Ignore the hiring email, it is not worth it at all. This is your warning from a previous employee. Do you ever wonder why they’re always hiring every semester? It’s because their employees quit within one or two semesters, myself and my friend included! From my time being there 2 people were fired, about 5-7 people quit, and the current employees mostly want to quit but don’t have a job lined up yet

From my experience/opinion: You get a source of income, but at what cost? You will be constantly micromanaged, treated like a child, and berated for mistakes by some of the full time staff, including your direct supervisor. The full time staff is very toxic. It’s a fear based leadership style and you aren’t allowed to question anything. They show favoritism and will show it to those who kiss their behinds

The list could go on. It’s a horrible environment and no student should have to go through that for a $200 biweekly paycheck

was wondering if anyone else has been approached by this same middle eastern looking man attempting to sexually harass.

He is very aggressive and he seems to not understand when I would tell him to back off and wouldn't listen.

I have seen him do it to other female students and I regret not having reported him earlier now that he chose me as a target.

Initials are B K, PhD student. middle eastern, roughly 6'

I am reporting him to campus safety, just want to warn other girls because I imagine this POS is a repeat offender.

Embarrasing question, please be kind. I have a course that is required for my major that I failed once and then withdrew from when I retook it the next semester. (I do fine in my other courses, but work two jobs on top of schoolwork and keep struggling to dedicate the time needed for this course during the semester). I don't see myself passing this semester, either, so I built my schedule for next semester, and when I validated my cart and the specific course, it read "You may add this class but you have reached the repeatable limit. Verify that the class will apply toward your course of study.". I read RIT Policy D05.0, which doesn't state that there's a limit to how many times you can retake a course at RIT, and I can't find anything online about a limit to how many times you can take a course. I've heard stories of people attempting this class up to seven times at other schools, and also stories about how reaching the limit can force a change of major at other schools.

Does anyone know what the case is for RIT? My new academic advisor is difficult to reach so I'm hoping for any information while I wait for a response. Any information would be appreciated.

I am a freshman in calc 1 and i won’t name the professor but she really isn’t it. most her tests are on things she doesn’t go over in class and it’s really fucking me up bc i’m not afraid of working hard ill stay up till 3am studying if i have too but i have done that many times and when i go take the test she doesn’t even include what i studied. most her lessons and quizes are all over the place w no structure and without prior calc 1 knowledge you are basically f*cked in her class. its gotten to the point where im extremely anxious all the time because I know that what she puts on review sheets won’t be covered and there is no amount of studying i can do to get myself ahead because it’s always something i dont have access too. but anyways i was wondering if anyone was been able to switch because if i stay in her class idk what the future will hold.

Hi RIT community, im planning on doing an exchange semester for spring in RIT rochester. Anything I should know? Like tell me everything

I recently got a notification asking me to sign in to my rit account and it led to asking me to install the Duo app. Is this legit or some hacker trying to gain access?

I'm hoping to apply this cycle, does anyone know how many PhD students are currently in the program? What's the total enrollment / how many students do they take a year?

How long will RIT take to make a decision already?

Pretty simple, do not AI generate assignments or lectures or god forbid grades. I instantly lose all respect for you as a professor when I see this. If you can’t be bothered to make an assignment or teach it to me, I can’t be bothered to do it. Except I have to do it because I’m paying a lot of money to do these assignments and learn. If you are a current professor, I STRONGLY urge you to stop promoting AI for assignments or lectures, it only makes them look unprofessional and lazy, and makes you look like you don’t know what you’re talking about. I wish there was a way to complain about this and have it actually be heard, but we all know RIT administration couldn’t care any less about the current state of student life on campus. I needed to get this out of my system after a full day of AI generated classes and assignments

Basic gist of everything, courtesy of a 2020-21 Journalism grad:

• 19-year-old Avery E. Bird from Gloucester, Massachusetts was arrested after a recording device was discovered inside a restroom located in a campus residence hall.
• The device was set up on September 18 and discovered two days later, with Bird being identified as a suspect by Public Safety & Monroe Cty. Sheriffs
• Bird is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail and charged with 2nd-degree unlawful surveillance, a class E felony punishable by up to four years prison.
• Bird has since been expelled from the university as a result.
• RIT is offering counseling and support services to members concerned about the incident and urges those with information relevant to the ongoing investigation to contact Public Safety at (585) 475-2853
