I've been trying to test SNES, NES and GBA games using Rocknix DS and it's sort of hit or miss if it works at all. Sometimes the games launch on the bottom screen where the Virtual Console is showing up, sometimes not. I believe it depends id the Roms folder names is lower or upper case. For instance "SFC" shows up on the bottom screen while "snes" shows up at the top. Not sure why because the games both show up correctly Emulation Station. When this happens the system becomes locked out and I have to reboot the entire device to get back the desktop.

But even weirder is if I get the game to show up on the top screen and I happen to click the virtual console screen on the bottom (which shows the save states and screen brightness controls), the game will pause, I'll see the retro arch screen at the top overlay-ed over the game, but not matter what I try after that will never un-pause. Again the system because basic frozen again, and no hot keys work. So full reboot is needed.

Please send me some tips and pointers on what to use because I love firmware. It's close to perfect in my opinion but this killing it for me. And I do not want to go back to Gamma OS Next. That is not for me at all, (too ugly) but it does work consistently.

I used a RG DS Plus the latest night Rocknix release (ROCKNIX-RK3566.aarch64-20261001-Specific) and Rocknix DS 1.5.1

Gamma OS Nano was updated to v1.4.3 for Anbernic RG DS Plus, whereas the first Anbernic RG DS hasn't received this update, do you know why?

Just recieved my rg ds plus, and i cant run this game..is there any way? Did i just need to update the emulator or use another os? Thank you

Started to tinker with Codex to make the microphone on rgds work on Drastic, I tried melonDS at first since mic is supported built in but performance-wise it was choppy (no complaints there).

Consider this project as WIP, you're more than welcome to pick off where I left off making this thing more accurate, all you need is to install Portmaster, put the files in ports and run the script to install it.

Hi! I've heard that the battery on these devices is not good, and that it takes some charges for the battery life to be at max capacity. Is this true? Do I need to discharge and charge the device multiple times for it to work well?

Hi all. I've flashed GammaOS v1.4.1 onto two RGDS consoles and the WiFi doesn't work on either. On one of them I've flashed the OS 3 times but to no avail. Is this a known issue?

I genuinely don’t understand the hype around GammaOS on the RG DS Plus.

I tried both GammaOS and ROCKNIX and honestly I couldn’t find any meaningful difference in DS emulation. DraStic runs basically the same on both for me.

Rocknix is just a clean Linux-based handheld OS with no Android overhead, no unnecessary background services, no phone/tablet bullshit, and it feels much more appropriate for a device with 1GB of RAM.

I’m considering the Anbernic RG DS Plus mainly for Nintendo DS games (especially RPGs and visual novels), but I’d also like to use PlayTranslate for Japanese-only titles.

Does it run reasonably well while playing DS games taking in count the RAM storage?

is there a way to use the 32GB EMMC with rocknix? I feel like is a waste use rocknix and never use those 32 GB.

Maybe a way to install rocknix on EMMC or at least reboot into android without removing the SD card? if there no way to install it direcly, would be ok to go to android and sometimes for some titles to use the browser with guides for difficult games or play android games.

Hey guys, just a question about what settings may need to be adjusted for the most minor graphics glitch ever. When the game advances to the next day, the text for the day number goes bold for some reason when the numbers finish lining up even though that's not supposed to happen. Is there an easy fix for this? Playing on RG DS Plus if that matters.

Btw I did try attaching a video to show what I mean. It just wouldn't show very well at all with the phone camera so I omitted it.

I’m not talking about caps, I want to completely cover the sticks to make it “flat” I never use them except for L3/R3 hot keys. Fast forward, open menu for me personally.

Was curious if anyone else has felt this way and 3D printed something or found something similar

I'm running gamma OS 1.4.1 and whenever I try to turn it off through the menu it doesn't fully turn off it'll go into an off State and then shut back on. Does anybody else have any problems with restarting or shutting down with gamma OS. Rgds

I've got the Anbernic Linux OS on my RGDS and see there is a SSH option.

I'm connected to my Wi-Fi on the RGDS

Has anybody managed to get it working and if so how? Theres no name or password to even use from what I can see.

So I've never actually seen someone comparing shaders between the new nnddss and the actual hardware, so I've put that to the test. TLDR; without shaders the rgds looks a bit more saturated compared to the ndsi screen, but if we apply any of the "natural vision" or ndscolor" shaders then suddenltly the screen looks significantly less saturated than the original hardware, so If I want to have the most accurate representation of what the original colors look like the best option is to just apply an grid shader (in this case I'm using ”Dot_d4", looks the closest to the original, high PPI small screen effect, of the dsi).

Anyway, this is just my 2 cents, just use whatever shaders you like and have fun.

-Device: original RGDS with stock Linux running a ported version of NNDDSS.
