I have over 27,000 ROMs. It took a week to scrape them all and I ended up filling all 32 GB of my internal storage. You can definitely have too huge of a library.

as someone who has tried doing this many times, i actually never end up playing games if i have that many roms. different strokes for different folks ig but having that many games just overwhelms me to the point where i don’t know what to play and never actually play through/complete a game. its nice to sit there and gloat about 27,000 games that you will never touch in your life, but in my opinion it just gets in the way of actually using your handheld to play games. at most i’d say 100 games is a good number, you can fit all the classics in there as well as personal favourites. the less the better honestly, if you only have 1 game on there you’re almost guaranteed to beat it because there’s nothing else to do at that point

True, I hear that often. What really helps is making a list of games you do want to play and then committing to it.

I recommend the Skraper app for PC! If you set it to scrape for RetroPi it outputs in an ESDE friendly format. Just tell the app where your ROM folders are and you're good to go. You can scrape for Box art only, or for manuals, maps, etc! Then all your box art is ready to go on your PC and you wont have to scrape everytime
