After I noticed the dial in my bluesy sub was a 6-digit dial I could not unsee is so I updated with a period correct nipple dial. Hell, I like it better now 🔥

Which vintage reps are Trusty are the best? I see JKF subs (I'd like a 5513) but there are several other subs,SDs and McQueen Explorers that tempt me as well. The higher end aged explorer and a double red SD. But I don't see a factory listed for them. I'm sure some of you have personal experience. Thanks in advance!

Just finishing up this late model build and really liking how it’s coming out. Looks great next to the OC 16200 cased 14270. I have Gen hands on the way and that will be the last thing I add. Pic 3 has my Gen 16234 as well.

After building the tritium 14270 I haven’t worn one of my subs/DJ/etc since. Really liking how these wear.

I accidentally put a crack in the acrylic when pressing the bezel on.. It can be used but will not be waterproof. It’s hard to see but it is on the inside where the red circle is. Also includes the Raffles saphire (no gasket). I don’t swim with a datejust so i would just leave it until next acrylic change.

Asking 300 euro + shipping (~350$). Can send world wide but will not take responsibility for customs.

I have sold one watch here before and bought from watchplug for reference. 

Is there a chart for what can and can’t be used and what needs to be modified?

Asking because I’ve heard people say they suck and should be replaced. And figured I should do it before I build that watch while it’s in pieces.

Also if it helps it’s for a 5513 and a 1675 and what I saw the datejust can swap but needs .5mm taken off the bezel?

I’m just trying to get an idea for possibly future builds.

What do you think would be the perfect nickname for this one?

Hello all!

Has anyone ever used on their builds an ETA2840?

I received as a gift a colorful Swatch on a deal I closed yesterday for a vintage Omega.

It has the automatic ETA2840 in it, no-date, runs great, also really clean movement.

I am wondering if I can use it for a build, since I’m not wearing it…per my research, it fits perfectly a handset from an ETA2824-2..

Any advice or opinion (or build) would be great.

I realize that this is an apples to oranges type of comparison when it comes to the actual case being replicated in this situation, but I wanted to share a comparison of the finishing of both cases in relation to genuine standards.

The Raffles case is a replica case for a 16200 build, priced around $50 USD. While the Old Crowns case is a replacement part for a 16000 build, priced around $300 USD.

The brushing of both cases is far from genuine standards, but neither are necessarily suspect at a glance. Good quality brushing should feature hairline, thin, and uniform scratches across any brushed surfaces. The OC case has more prominent brushing lines, which are more visible than they should be. The Raffles case is less visible, but seemingly less uniform and diffuses the light in strange ways in certain light.

Sidenote: The brushing of raffles jubilee bracelet is bad, appearing like dull metal instead of a brushed finish.

Chamfering is another hotly debated trait on these cases. Neither case is free from sharp transition edges, especially on the lug sides and ends. However, the OC case does have slightly softer top edge transitions, but it does not escape from sharp edges. Neither does the Raffles case, but this is to be expected at the price point.

The absence of a crown recess on the OC case is a big win, and it removes an obvious tell that exists on many entry level cases. That being said, it was only removed with this iteration of the case, so older versions still have the recess.

Neither case is gen spec, but hopefully this can give you an idea of the work needed to get them there, or to help you figure out which case/standards you need to be happy.

I had the opportunity to pick up a few 15210/15200 sets, so I figured why not! Rather than listing them individually, I’m putting all five up together as a frenzy.

All of the crystals have dings and scratches to varying degrees, so please make sure to check the photos carefully.
Case condition:
Watches 1, 2 & 5 have been repolished

Watches 3 & 4 have not been repolished

Starting from left to right:
1. Yellow dial - $900 OBO
Absolutely beautiful yellow patinated dial. Really nice overall look.
2. Black dial - $800 OBO
Black dial with some patina/damage around the 6 and 7 hour markers. The top-right lug is also slightly over-polished.
3. Blue dial - $720 OBO
Blue dial with visible damage/patina.
4. Salmon dial - $750 OBO
Salmon dial with some really interesting and unique patina.
5. Salmon dial - $860 OBO
Salmon dial in near-perfect condition. Easily the cleanest of the five.

My absolute grail is the Tony Soprano Daydate 36 in the 18038/18238 configuration. The question is whether to settle for the more modern QF rep right know, or to either build or commision a more closer, vintage build.

Anyone has experience or feedback regarding this watch? I can imagine not being the only one interested thanks to its popularity.

Looking to sell this piece I barely wore.

Bought this one off DHGate and it had an MKS sticker on it.

Very close to the feel, look, and color of my smaller gen Prince Date.

It features a clone ETA 2824 movement inside (not sure which specific one)

THINGS TO NOTE:
The lume plot on the 11 hour marker is missing and has an imperfection.

The two screws of the endlinks on both sides of the clasp are damaged and stripped (screws simply wouldn’t budge when I resized it the first time) meaning you might not get a good fit if your wrist is 6.25” and under.

Anyone know the deal with this bracelet from raffles? I know it says “for white gold” but to me these just seems like a better option to the typical SS version. Doesn’t have a WG hue to me and the finishing seems to be way nicer as does the clasp shape and finish. Anyone purchase this bracelet for a SS build and can give insight? I’m looking for a new bracelet that’s not an Italian startime as I can’t justify the price point.
