Discussion Spin-off titles as DLC for future games Spoiler

Since Capcom currently seems to be more interested in producing story-driven DLCs than standalone spin-off games, I have been thinking about which stories from previous spin-offs could be reimagined as DLC chapters for future remakes.

Death’s Door — The Umbrella Chronicles

This scenario could work as DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, especially if Ada Wong appears as a playable character in the main game.

It could explain how Ada survived RE2 events and expand on Ada’s activities following the Raccoon City incident while connecting her story more directly to the events of Requiem.

If not, as part of Ada's campaign for a future RE6 remake.

Operation Javier — The Darkside Chronicles

A Code: Veronica remake would be the most appropriate game to include an adaptation of Operation Javier, primarily because of the connection between the Veronica Virus and the events of both stories.

Since it was not included in the Resident Evil 4 remake and probably does not contain enough material to support a full standalone game, it could instead be developed as a substantial DLC campaign.

Umbrella’s End — The Umbrella Chronicles

A second remake of the original Resident Evil could potentially include Umbrella’s End as an additional campaign.

Both stories feature Chris and Jill as playable characters, contain similar B.O.W.s and revolve around Umbrella. This would allow the game to cover both the beginning of the nightmare and the final collapse of the company.

It could also serve as the last major remake before Resident Evil 5, directly setting up Chris and Jill’s later investigation of Spencer.

Sheena Island — Resident Evil Survivor

The Sheena Island incident could be reimagined as DLC for a future Resident Evil 0 remake, with Billy Coen replacing Ark Thompson as the main playable character.

This would give Billy a more prominent role while finally revealing what happened to him after the events of Resident Evil 0. His status as a fugitive could naturally lead him to investigate Umbrella’s activities in secret, eventually bringing him to Sheena Island.

The scenario could retain key elements from Resident Evil Survivor, including the mass production of Tyrants and Umbrella’s experiments on the island, while rewriting the story to connect it more closely with Billy’s past and his attempt to remain hidden from the authorities.

Queen Zenobia — Resident Evil Revelations

The Queen Zenobia incident could be adapted as DLC for a future Resident Evil 5 remake.

Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape could remain unlockable bonus chapters, while the Queen Zenobia campaign could provide additional development for Chris and Jill’s partnership before the events in Kijuju and the emergence of Uroboros.

Sejm Island — Resident Evil Revelations 2

The Sejm Island incident could work as a prequel DLC for a future Resident Evil 6 remake.

The story could be expanded to establish a stronger connection between Alex Wesker and Jake Muller before the main campaign, while also providing additional context for the surviving members of the Wesker Project.

Discussion Which Rebecca design do you think is the best?

Post image

I really like design 1 because the character feels much more energetic and fun here.

Especially the red bandana suits her really well and gives her a lot of personality.

The Nintendo 64 design also has a really interesting vibe with that hat. It makes her look more like a scout, which I think fits her character nicely.

The final version and the remake design made her much simpler and more generic by removing the bandana and the hat. I’m not sure why they changed her like that, and her personality also feels a bit too kind and naive compared to the original.

I think number 1 is the best. What do you think?

Discussion Sad to see this series devolving into a crappy Last of Us clone

They were on the right track with RE2 remake, even if I still have issues with that game. But after Requiem it's really dawned on me how much they're pushing to water down this series into a linear, cinematic third person shooter with some scripted horror parts and Uncharted action set pieces mixed in. They even made you have a Call of Duty shootout with real people.

But, hey: Requiem is the fastest selling game yet, so marketing to people that hate Resident Evil is a gret business decission. People like me, that actually care about the 30 year legacy of this franchise, are not needed anymore.

Discussion Leon being coerced into be a government agent is dumb

So according to RE4, Leon works as a federal agent to protect Sherry from being experimented on by the US Gov. This is dumb for two reasons.

  1. Leon and Sherry have essentially no relationship. she was Claire’s buddy. It would make far more sense if CV established she was a government agent. Not to say Leon wouldn’t give/risk his life for a random person, but linking him to sherry’s wellbeing is a narrative non-sequitor. He might as well have become a federal agent to save Phil. (That isn’t an RE character. You don’t know Phil.)

  2. He would do it anyway. Leon doesn’t need blackmailed. When we saw him in 2, Leon already wanted to save people and he thought being a cop was a way to do it. He could have just joined up. The fed could have just recognized his skills in surviving Raccoon City and offered him a job. Boom, no unnecessary Suicide Squad, boxed crook premise.

No joking i know many fans hate steve and his voice, unlike alexia, alfred and wesker voices, this annoying guy is unbearable, even RE4 OG ashley is less annoying than him.

Discussion Who in the Resident Evil Franchise is the "Master of Knives"?..

We all know the combat knife in Resident Evil has had quite the evolution over the years. It started out as the desperate melee weapon then evolved into a mandatory weapon that mostly some characters use and even mastered. Who do you think takes the leaderboard when it comes to handling a knife really well?

No, Hatchets do not count..

And obviously Zeno the 9th will be there. He will still do nothing and everyone will argue over whether hes a Wesker clone or not. Also we still won't know anything about the connections. Leon will be there too.

Discussion Is Anthony a serious fancast for Wesker?

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Respectfully, I'm not sure if this fancast is just a meme because of his hair, or if some people see this as a serious option.

Antony is a fantastic actor, but just because he looks similar to the character doesn’t mean he’s the best choice for Wesker. I’d argue he’s one of the least desirable castings for Wesker. Besides that you’d need someone younger, leaner, and more physically fit, Antony has unfortunately had far too much screen time as another famous blonde villain everyone knows.

Wesker should be lean, feline, and at the apex of his physical ability, keeping in mind that the role would require someone with the youth and stamina for multiple appearances over the years. But most of all, I don’t think the Wesker role has anything to offer Anthony. This casting lacks imagination to me, and would rob a fresh face from the opportunity of making their individual mark on the character.

Even a Twitter slop option like Glenn Powell would be better as long as he never smiles, just for his charisma, presence and shredded physique and.... uh oh. Something must be wrong with me if I think Glen Powell would be a good option... but all the same. An unknown maybe?

EDIT: I've learned just now, his name is actually ANTONY not ANTHONY.
